A Special Story Event?

What was that?

In all his time here, Luocheng had never known such a system existed.Full novel: Uma Musume: Trapped in the Game — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The Uma Musume Trainer’s Handbook didn’t explain it either.

Was this similar to the random mini-events in the mobile game that occasionally increased stats?

While Luocheng was thinking—

Seiun Sky shifted in his arms.

She leaned closer to his chest, her ears flicking lazily.

“Trainer, you’re rather bold today.”

Her usual languid voice carried obvious amusement.

“Teio is standing right there, and you still insist on cuddling with Seichan.

Wouldn’t sneaking around in private be more fun?”

She smiled mischievously.

Luocheng reached out to pinch her cheek.

Seiun Sky caught his hand between hers.

“Trainer, you really do get touchy whenever you see Seichan, don’t you?”

Before the teasing could continue—

“That’s enough!”

Tokai Teio finally snapped.

She grabbed Seiun Sky and pulled her away, then immediately sat in Luocheng’s lap herself.

“Trainer.”

Teio lowered her head and deliberately wiggled her ponytail.

Clearly— she wanted head pats.

Seiun Sky wasn’t angry.

She casually placed both hands behind her head and watched Teio’s performance as if it posed no threat whatsoever.

“What exactly are you two doing?”

Luocheng rubbed Teio’s head while asking.

“Trainer, don’t you think Teio has been eating too much lately?” Seiun Sky asked innocently.

“I think she’s about to become round.”

“You’re the one getting round!

The great Teio’s figure is flawless!”

Teio’s build was petite, but her athletic proportions were excellent.

“Eating is good.

You’re still growing.”

“Trainer, that doesn’t mean you think I’m getting fat, right?”

“Of course not.

Teio looks great.”

“Hehe~”

Tokai Teio leaned back against his chest and rubbed her head beneath his chin.

Seiun Sky looked away, though Luocheng couldn’t tell what she was thinking.

“Teio, get down for a moment.

I need to figure something out.”

“Eh?”

Teio clung tighter.

“Trainer held Sky for ages, and now I only get a few seconds?

No!

I’m staying!”

Luocheng ignored the complaint as best he could.

His memories didn’t line up with theirs.

They were talking about eating too much and gaining weight.

But from Luocheng’s perspective, one second ago he had simply been sitting there with Sky.

This wasn’t a normal transition.

It had been inserted seamlessly into reality.

A random event.

Exactly like the small scenes that interrupted long stretches of training in the mobile game.

Race events.

Random events.

Maybe personal character events too?

If training gameplay = the game world— and story scenes = reality— then entering an event meant returning to reality.

Luocheng’s thoughts rapidly organized themselves.

He was beginning to understand how the system operated.

This wasn’t full transmigration.

It was half-transmigration.

Perhaps this state was actually what should have happened from the beginning.

He had simply been dropped into the abnormal system layer first.

Eventually the break period ended.

“You two aren’t going back to class?”

“It’s still break time.

We came to see Trainer and happened to arrive together.”

“But class starts soon.”

“Then go.”

“What?!”

Teio looked offended.

“We only just got here!”

Luocheng wanted to spend more time with them too.

But right now he had a much more important discovery to investigate.

He had temporarily returned to reality— and the transition had integrated perfectly into the game.

The girls reluctantly left.

Not long afterward— the door quietly opened again.

A green cat slipped back inside.

Seiun Sky.

The corners of her mouth curved upward.

“Trainer.”

She smiled triumphantly.

“Finally, it’s just the two of us.”

She had pretended to leave purely to trick Teio.

Teio really was too straightforward.

Then Seiun Sky leaned close.

“Trainer said you wanted to go fishing with me, right?”

Luocheng froze.

There it was.

The event.

It had been triggered.

Naturally.

Seamlessly.

And yet somehow far too coincidentally.

It felt as though some invisible force had guided everyone into position without them noticing.

Luocheng swallowed.

“Yes.”

“I want to go fishing with you.”

“Then let’s go this weekend.”

Seiun Sky smiled.

“Seichan will take Trainer somewhere nice and quiet in the woods.”

“Don’t worry.

With Seichan protecting you, nothing dangerous will happen.”

“We can spend the entire day relaxing.”

“How does that sound?”

“…Pretty good.”

“What should I bring?”

“Seichan will prepare everything.”

She smiled.

“Trainer only needs to remember to bring himself.”

“I’m looking forward to our weekend together.”

Thank you so much for reading until the end.
