By the time my mistress and I were done Sunday night we were well and truly exhausted. We ended up passing out in each other's arms, happy and contented smiles on both our faces.

After every other crazy or hectic thing that happened Sunday, neither of us were the least bit surprised that we both slept in pretty late on Monday. According to the clock on Nia's bedside table it was nearly eleven when I finally opened my eyes.

The two of us were both laying on our sides, and like that first morning Nia was holding me cuddled tight against her chest. One of her hands was pressed against my boobs while the other arm was around my belly. Her chin was at the top of my head with her face in between my phantom mousey ears, while my ghostly tail had slipped in between her legs and wrapped around one of her thighs.

In all it was a really nice way to wake up.

"Good morning Kiki," Nia whispered between my ears. "I hope you slept well?"

I smiled, "It was another great night mistress. You?"

She sounded like she was smiling too as she replied, "Same. Thanks for last night. That was a perfect end to a long difficult day."

"I should be thanking you," I mumbled happily as my cheeks warmed up. "I didn't know it was possible to feel that good or um, that many times in one night..."

My gorgeous fae friend giggled softly, then gave me a gentle squeeze before sighing. "Much as I'd love to spend the entire day in bed with you like this, I think I have to get up. At least that'll be a good excuse to put on the coffee machine."

"Yeah," I nodded once. "Then I guess we should figure out what else needs doing, before we head back to classes tomorrow?"

Nia grumbled, "Ugh! I don't even want to think about school yet. I need some coffee in me first."

"Sorry," I cringed, but she gave me another little squeeze so I knew she wasn't actually upset or anything.

Then she finally let go of me, and we both slowly separated from each other under the covers. She didn't bother with clothes as she headed naked into the washroom, so I followed her example and padded nude into the kitchen to see about getting the coffee started.

The new coffee maker was kind of fancy and complicated-looking, but it didn't take long to figure out how to use it. The hard part was reaching everything, considering my tiny size. I remembered some of the stuff both Nia and Sara told me though, about letting go of any human preconceptions or hang-ups. So I hopped up and sat cross-legged on the counter, which made it easy to fill the machine's reservoir. And standing on the counter made it super-easy to check all the cupboards, for mugs and coffee and all that stuff.

By the time Nia joined me in the kitchen the coffee maker was already doing its thing. I hopped down off the counter then went into the washroom to freshen up, and by the time I came back there was a big hot mug of fresh coffee waiting for me. I grabbed that with both hands, then joined my friend on the living-room sofa.

"So," she said after a big sip of her hot morning drink, "It's Thanksgiving day. Do you want to go out and get brunch somewhere? Or we could have breakfast here, then go out someplace for dinner later. What do you feel like?"

I shrugged, "I'm not picky about brunch, so if there's food here I'm good with that. Unless you want to go out? I remember you said fae didn't really celebrate Thanksgiving."

"Me and dad never really did anything fancy either," I added with a little sigh. "He tried once, the first year after mom died, but it was a bit of a disaster. After that our 'tradition' was either getting pizza delivered, or going out for Chinese."

Nia leaned closer and gave me a side-hug then said, "If you want to keep the tradition alive then I'd be up for Chinese later."

"Ok," I smiled as I leaned my head against her shoulder.

After a few seconds she let go and we both focused on our coffee for a bit. Eventually Nia went to the kitchen to get herself a refill, while I returned to the bedroom to put on some clothes. That was still a new enough experience to give me another little hit of euphoria, as I pulled on a bra and panties. Then I got into a pair of jeans and finally a cute pink tee with a big flower on the front.

Once I was dressed I went to the kitchen to top up my coffee, but before rejoining Nia on the living-room sofa I made a detour to the second bedroom to grab my backpack. It was a bit of a chore lugging that into the living-room, especially while being careful not to spill my drink. Then I ended up kneeling on the floor in front of the coffee table while I carefully extracted my laptop from the backpack.

"What are you up to cutie?" Nia asked as she watched me set the laptop up on the coffee table.

"I just want to make sure I'm all set for classes tomorrow," I explained as I got the charger cord out. It was just long enough to reach an outlet on the wall next to the sofa, then I finally had a sip of my coffee while the laptop booted up.

Nia gave me her wifi password then I tried to log on to my college account. That failed, but I had a feeling it might. The college used a firstname.lastname format for student IDs, and I'd keyed in my ID using my old name. When I tried it as Kiki Muyskens it worked, and that left a little smile on my face.

Once I was in I spent a few minutes double-checking everything, but it all looked good. So I had another sip of coffee as I commented, "Your mom did everything she said. My ID's updated, it's got the right name on my account, even the right address. It's almost like I've been registered under this name right from the start. Oh... That's unexpected, but it makes sense."

"What's that cutie?" Nia asked.

I blushed slightly as I replied, "It's got you listed as my next of kin now, instead of my dad."

Her cheeks coloured too as she asked, "Is that ok with you? Mother probably assumed you wouldn't want them to contact your father regardless, but..."

"It's fine," I assured her. "I hadn't thought of it, but it was a good decision."

I spent a few more minutes poking around on the college portal before eventually logging off and moving on to other things. I wasn't exactly big on social media, but I had a couple accounts I rarely used and I wanted to make sure they were all updated. So I logged on to each of them so I could update my name and everything. I was just deleting an old pfp when a thought suddenly occurred to me.

"Hey, would it be ok to post selfies of my real self?" I asked as I glanced up at Nia. "I mean with my mouse ears visible and everything? Or could I at least do that for my new pfp? I figure most people will assume it's fake right? Like they're going to think I did it with photoshop or a filter or something."

She frowned as she thought about it for a couple seconds, then nodded, "Yeah that should be fine I guess. The occasional online picture here and there isn't going to raise any alarm bells. You absolutely can't show off your mousekin traits in public though. And even video would be pushing it I think. But a few still images should be ok."

"Sweet!" I grinned. My smile faded a moment later as I frowned, "Oh wait. I don't want to go all the way back to Gruffudd's Grove just to take a few selfies."

My mistress smirked, "You don't have to, silly mouse. You only need to go to the crossroads if you actually want to cross over to visit the magical realm. If you just want to shed your mundane disguise then all you need is to eat a bit of fae food. And you can do that anywhere. Just like all it takes is a bit of mundane food to restore your disguise."

"And yes I have some fae food here," she added before I could ask. "I assume most of us living in the mundane world keep a little stash of fae food handy. So we can kick back and be ourselves while we're safe at home. Just so long as we remember to consume something mundane before leaving the apartment. Or answering the door."

Hearing that restored my smile again, but it faded again only a moment later as another thought crossed my mind.

"How come that didn't work for my dad last night?" I asked with another frown. "Remember after we finished packing my stuff and came down from my bedroom, he was in the living-room drinking a beer? And he still looked like a troll. Shouldn't the mundane beer have put him in a mundane disguise?"

My frown got a little deeper as I added, "Or does that not work for trolls? Or trow, I mean. Or maybe it's because of how he changed, like from your mom's spell instead of from fairy wine?"

By that point Nia had a thoughtful frown on her face too, as she considered my questions. It was about a minute or so before she finally responded, "I don't think it's anything mother did. She definitely wouldn't have done anything to force your dad to reveal himself as supernatural. That's the sort of thing that could expose all of us."

"And I don't think there's anything about being a trow that would block a mundane disguise from working," she continued. "It works just fine for Sasquatches, it should be fine for trow too."

I asked, "Then how come the beer didn't disguise him? It had to be mundane beer, right? He wouldn't have fae beer."

Nia nodded in agreement, then she came up with a suggestion. "I think it's because he transformed here, in the mundane world. That's got him out of sync, if you know what I mean? If he has some fae food or drink then takes something mundane that ought to do the trick."

"Can I text him that?" I asked. "I could suggest he goes to the crossroads to get some fae wine then something mundane, so he'll have a mundane disguise. At least that way he can have a mostly normal life, right? He could go back to work and everything."

My mistress nodded, "Yeah of course! That's a good idea cutie."

She sounded a little embarrassed as she admitted, "I'm kind of glad you didn't ask if he could come here, since I just told you I have a little stash of fae food."

"Even if you'd offered I wouldn't invite him here," I replied with a little shudder. "Maybe I'd offer to take it to him, like leave something in the mailbox for him? But sending him to the crossroads is way easier."

She agreed, so I grabbed my phone and tapped out a detailed message explaining about how the mundane disguise stuff worked and what he had to do to activate it. I was also clear about how it wouldn't actually make him normal, but he'd look normal so he could get on with his regular life stuff.

While I was doing that Nia finally got dressed, then she made us toasted bacon and cheese sandwiches for breakfast. And she used some special fae butter, which meant after the first couple bites my best friend had reverted to her beautiful fae form, while I was my new tiny mousekin self again.

Best of all the breakfast was absolutely delicious, and that wasn't just because of the enchanted butter. Or the gloriously sharp cheddar cheese melted over the bacon. Although that definitely helped. Mostly though it was just really nice, I had no idea my best friend was such a good cook.

When we were finished eating I volunteered to wash all the dishes, then ended up kneeling on the counter next to the sink while I scrubbed the frying pan. And after everything was all clean and dried I walked around on the counter putting the plates and coffee mugs away. I couldn't help smiling to myself as I jumped back down to the floor when I was done. It hadn't even been three days yet, and I was already feeling completely at home as a tiny mousekin girl.

With that all done I grabbed my phone again to check my messages, but there was nothing new from my dad. I wasn't even sure if he'd seen my earlier text, but I tried not to dwell on that. I'd done what I could for him, if he didn't want my help there wasn't anything more I could do about it.

Instead I looked around for a good spot to take some selfies, and ended up out on our new balcony. My idea was to have a view of the town and the river behind me, but I was short enough that mostly the only thing behind me was railing with some sky overtop of that. So I climbed up ontop of a chair, and that made all the difference. Then I snapped a handful of cute selfies that showed off my big mousie ears and my long hair and my pretty femme face.

In fact I ended up having a lot of fun with that, like posing and trying out different expressions and things. I'd always kind of hated selfies before, like I never really understood why people would want pictures of themselves. Now that I had a body I loved though it actually made a lot more sense. So I took some happy selfies, and some cute selfies, and I even snapped some flirty selfies. Eventually I realized I had more than enough, about the same time I finally noticed the mid-October weather was kind of damp and chilly. So I headed back inside and got comfy on the sofa again while I updated my various pfp's and even posted a full-size selfie or two.

There was only one other important thing to take care of that afternoon. I made sure to grab my birth certificate when I was packing my stuff up the night before, and with that in hand Nia helped me figure out the process of updating my name and ID and stuff for real with the government. That involved downloading some forms which we filled out on my laptop.

There were a few things that normally would have required a little more legwork, like getting a doctor or psychologist to sign off on the gender stuff. And the whole thing needed to be notarized too. Nia was able to fake that with her magic, and when it was all done we just had to send it in along with a payment and my original birth certificate.

I also took a few minutes to update my address wherever I could. The bank was easy, I did that through their app. Stuff like drivers license and health card was a little harder since the government website wasn't very friendly, but I figured it out.

After that we spent the rest of the afternoon just sort of hanging out and talking about magic, like what sort of training and practising Nia would be doing. And what sort of stuff I'd be learning, along with how we'd be helping each other. That was cool, although I realized it'd probably get routine pretty fast. Like she said at one point, it was just another kind of school work that we both had to do, on top of our regular college studies.

Finally when it got towards dinner time we both had some mundane juice to reset our disguise forms, then we headed down to the guest parking and climbed into the mini-van. It actually wasn't that far to walk to the Chinese restaurant, but it was cold and raining outside so we were both happier taking advantage of the rental while we still had it.

"I think I'm already spoiled having the van," Nia joked as the two of us made our first trip up to the buffet. "We're definitely taking it to class tomorrow."

I couldn't argue with that, "Yeah same. It's too bad we have to return it tomorrow night. Although it's probably not the most fuel-efficient way to move the two of us around? Maybe we could trade it in for a little sports car or something."

She giggled, "I wish."

As soon as we were back at our table we both dug in to our plates full of sweet and sour chicken balls, bbq pork in tangy sauce, garlic beef and broccoli, veggie fried rice, and plenty more. And while I knew it wasn't the sort of food most people associated with holidays like Thanksgiving, it definitely felt like tradition to me. A reminder of some of the less-bad times I shared with my dad.

In my original form I definitely would have gone up for seconds, but as a tiny disguised mousekin one plate was more than enough for me. Nia went up for more, but nowhere near as much as her first serving. Then after she'd had enough we both visited the dessert station. She got a slice of chocolate cake and a scoop of ice cream, while I got a couple fancy cookies and a tiny bowl of pudding.

"This was actually really fun," Nia commented after munching on a bit of cake. "I could definitely get behind making it a new tradition for the two of us."

I nodded as I savoured a spoonful of chocolate pudding, "Mm-hmm. Me too."

Then she grinned, "Maybe we could do this for x-mas as well?"

"Sure," I giggled. "If they're open."

Eventually Nia paid for our meals, then the two of us headed out to the van and back to the apartment. We ended up cuddling together on the sofa again, where we spent the rest of the evening talking about magic.
