Logan steeled his mind and stepped out of the car with his twin guns materialising in his hands out of thin air.
Then he yelled.
"Die motherfuckers!!"
Logan tightened his grip on his guns, then he fired twice, and the two men within his range of sight instantly dropped dead before they could pull their triggers.
Now all that remained was a ragged-breathing Odette and a streetlight flickering overhead.
Logan's pointy ears twitched a bit because his aunt called out to him in a whisper.
"Logan! What are you doing? Get back here right now."
Logan swiftly glanced around before returning his gaze back to Delphine.
"It's alright, Aunt. I think it's over." Logan announced before noticing Odette staring at him.
Judging from her expression, he could see she was a bit upset he had stepped out on his own when she had asked him not to, but another part of her was surprised as to where the two golden guns had been hiding for her not to have seen them till now.
And the last part of her was a bit impressed with his marksmanship.
Of course, she also noticed the worried expression on Logan's face because this would be the first time he had killed a person.
Moreover, he didn't just kill one person, but two, so she was certain he would be a little shaken up by that.
Pushing this thought away for now, Odette instantly dragged her gaze to the two men on the floor, groaning in pure agony.
She had deliberately left these two alive because she had use for them.
Both men managed to sit up straight before resting their backs against the car, still groaning.
But right in front of them, Odette aimed the tip of her sword at one with her other hand holding a gun and aiming straight for the other guy's head.
"Speak, who sent you?" Odette asked the first guy, but he glared and spat out before replying.
"Fuck you."
"Wrong answer."
A loud gunshot echoed in the street and the second man watched as his comrade had his head explode by this crazy woman standing in front of him.
Instantly, he began to check around for where he had dropped his gun during the chaos of when he had been struck, but to his surprise, Odette was standing right next to his gun, so he had no choice but to slowly raise his head up in fear as she aimed the tip of her sword on his throat.
"Answer me."
"Please, please. I honestly do not know, but I did hear rumours from the boys saying the boss had been called by a big shot for this mission, but I'm truly not sure if the rumour is true or not."
"Give me a name." Odette pressed as she pinned the tip of her blade even more on his throat, causing the attacker to feel even more scared.
"Sinclair... His name is Joseph Sinclair. That's all I know. I swear that's all I..."
Silence followed as the guy's head rolled across the street whilst his body fell next to his comrades.
Odette turned around instantly and approached the car where Logan stood.
"We have to go. The cops should be arriving soon, and we won't want to be caught up in this mess."
Since a series of gunshots had been fired, Odette was confident a few people living nearby must have alerted the police, so that meant if they didn't leave in time, the cops would definitely corner them and prevent them from escaping.
And so, just like that, Odette hurriedly drove the car away.
But while this happened at a really fast pace, two silhouettes could be seen standing and hiding as they watched everything that had happened that night.
Even though the darkness hadn't let them see everything clearly, still the street light had provided enough light for them to notice how fast Odette moved when fighting against the gunmen.
Both figures were currently watching from a rooftop across the street, so they were well hidden in the dark once the shooting had finally stopped.
"Boss, I never expected that woman to have such capable bodyguards by her side." The guy on the right uttered softly to the other guy standing next to him as they watched the car leave.
He continued. "One seems really good with the sword in her hand and the other seems to be a master marksman as well. Do you think this could have been the true reason why she left for France? To gather combat specialists to her side as she tries to take what rightfully belongs to you?" he asked his boss who continued to remain silent whilst staring at the backlight of the vehicle Delphine was in.
The burly, honest-looking man noticed how his boss remained silent, so he stared at his young boss before muttering softly. "But seriously, boss, are you really serious about this?"
"About what?"
"This revenge of yours. You said Delphine is your stepmother, right? So, we came with the boys to try and scare her into giving you what rightfully belongs to you, but instead we noticed someone else had made her their enemy, but still even though she's your stepmother, you decided to do nothing and just watch. You really are heartless, boss."
"That Scorpion-hearted woman killed my father and drove my sister away from our home, still you call me heartless?" Delphine's stepson glared at the young man who had accused him of being heartless, and the guy immediately regretted his words.
"You wondered why I just stood here and did nothing, right?"
"Y-yes, b-boss."
"That's because I wanted to watch her die tonight."
Konstantin Adler gritted his teeth in rage as he stepped into the darkness, feeling really angry but a bit happy as well.
Because, this just proved that there was someone out there in the city who saw Delphine as their enemy, and this made him wonder if a compromise could be achieved between the two of them.
After all, just as the saying goes.
The Enemy Of My Enemy Is My Friend.
