Nicole painted the scenery of the woods leading up to a small village nearby.

She sat on the stool as she mixed and swirled colors around to create the right palette for her next piece.

Jasper looked through the documents Duke Noah had given to him as he spoke “How is your head?” he said putting down the papers as he gave her a cup of honey tea as Rowland his butler sorted through his Master’s paperwork as it was important to make sure his affairs were taken care of.Full novel: Vampire Chronicles — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Thank you, I feel much better I’m ready to paint away, Though I am curious as to what your past was like?” She took a sip of the tea as it glided on her taste buds leaving her satisfied.

” That would be spilling all the details of my personal life onto you.

I don’t think you want to hear such a troubling life I’ve had” he chuckled slightly as he cleared his voice and began to speak to her in a serious tone.

“I’ll tell you a little bit of my past if you want to know so badly but I’ll need that painting done if you want any coins for it .”

Nicole only nodded as he began to speak.

“This was back in 558 AD, when I had turned sixteen.

My father had trained me for war as my mother told me the dark arts in magic.

They knew I was gifted the same as my older brother Edward.

All I knew was war, those were extremely hard times as I was a hybrid a mixed breed that the council would consider abnormal being.

I could and still could wipe out armies why do think people held fear for the kingdom of Snow?

I was mad and filled with sanity due to the torture my father inflicted on me.

My mentor Lord ALonso taught me well.

You just don’t see how bad it is right now, right now Lilith wants to rage war with Snow for territory.

It’s an endless cycle of hate between two kingdoms even when I was young my father and mother were off plotting wars to attack and kill off every offspring from King Chanellor the previous lord of Lilith.

As years passed my parents were murdered by humans that was hired by Prince Charles.

Do you know what I did when I found out?”

Nicole shook her head as Jasper’s eyes were filled with crazed as he smiled widely with his dark eyes piercing her brown orbs” I killed everyone that resided in their village anything that moved it was dead.

Just thinking about it makes me want to kill all over again.

The two men who killed my parents, I starved and tortured them for several days until their bodies gave out.

That was the happiest day of my life because I finally felt something that day.

It was a relief the burden of abuse from both parents was enough to drive me mad.

”

His voice held a serene quality, almost melodic, as he described the acts of vengeance he enacted upon those who wronged his kin.

“They screamed, you see,” he said softly, his eyes alight with an unsettling gleam.

“Their pleas for mercy were like music to my ears, a sweet symphony of retribution for the blood spilled by their kind.”

His lips curled upward in a serene smile, belying the brutality of his words.

There was a detached elegance in his demeanor as if he were recounting a pleasant stroll through the valley rather than the slaughter of innocents.

“And as their life force ebbed away,” he continued, his tone almost conversational, “I found solace in the knowledge that justice had been served.

My parents’ deaths were avenged, their memories honored in the crimson tide that flowed through the streets.

They did inflict pain on me but I was happy to avenge them because I wanted them to be proud of me”

The smile remained, a mask of sanity painted upon features that betrayed no hint of remorse.

In Jasper’s eyes, there was only the calm satisfaction of a task completed, a mission fulfilled in the name of familial love.

Nicole broke into a cold sweat as he stared at her waiting for her response he gave a wicked laugh that she could tell wasn’t a good sign.

“It seemed like such a hard life, I’m sorry for what you went through.

There are good humans out there though the ones you said weren’t very nice.”

“Humans are all the same at the end of it all, There will always be wars and disasters, plagues everything you can think of I have been through it.

The moment I was born I had to work and perform to get to where I am.

” Jasper said as he poured himself a cup of blood wine and he chugged it down.

She looked down feeling a little empty inside as he spoke to her, maybe he was drinking his problems away but it never goes away it always comes back.

Nicole couldn’t say much as it wasn’t a proper time to heed her opinion, she could only paint as she felt her hands shake.

Was it fear she thought to herself as she felt his hand gently grasp a hold of hers causing Nicole to jump.

“Did I scare you sweet little lamb” He placed his head on top of hers as she let out a few tears “No need to cry you wanted to hear my past so I gave you a proper story.

Stop painting and rest.”

Nicole did what she was told as he guided her to the chair by the fireplace taking off her apron.

Jasper kneeled to her as he rested his head against her lap, placing her hand on his head she gently petted him causing Jasper to lift his head at her cupping his hand onto her cheek.

He looked away from her eyes and said “I’m sorry for frightening you I got upset.

Would you like to rest in my room for a while?

I don’t want you walking to your room in your current condition.

I will have to leave you soon I have to attend to the paperwork that’s undone.” Visit g.com for the full chapter.

Jasper stood up as he assisted her to the bed, once he did that Nicole thanked him as he left the room to allow her to sleep.

Once Jasper left the room she held her head tightly feeling her head throb in pain, it would have been better to rest than have him worry even more about he.

He painfully closed his eyes imagining the horrific expression on her face.

To think you can be so sad but never show your pain.

The work that needed to get done was almost finished, with the help of his Adviser, Lucas things were running smoother.

Jasper wanted more time for himself but also for her as well, he knew he couldn’t keep her confined in the manor it wouldn’t be right.

As time passed Jasper managed to get everything done as he had received word from his owl Slade that he had found Earl at an Inn he was staying on the outskirts of Snow.

Jasper stood up leaving his office Minutes later he arrived nearly close to his bedroom until he saw maids run frantically in and out of his room with bloody pillow sheets in their hands.

Jaspers ran into the room as Nicole lay on the floor with a shattered teacup by her side, she screamed for the pain to stop clawing at her face as maids tried their best to calm her done.

Blood seeped on the hardwood floor leaving the maids to put a towel on under her head Jasper raised his hand for them to stop as he got on his knees; slitting his wrist with his sharp nails as he clenched his fist making her drink drink it.

The maids were shocked at what the Lord had just done, they knew his a cruel master but his actions left them startled.

They realized Nicole stopped shaking as she opened her eyes seeing everyone around.

Her wounds seemed to heal perfectly making her sit up as Jasper rubbed her back comforting her.

Nicole felt some sorta rush in her body as she clenched her hands feeling his blood down in her stomach, it was a sharp and painful sensation that quickly left her body.

“You need to be more careful with what you drink, someone tried to poison you .

You’ll be back to normal in a matter of minutes my blood doesn’t last that long in your body.”

Jasper spoke with annoyance in his voice yet he was gentle with his approach, it wasn’t her fault but what if he wasn’t there what would have happened to her?

The necklace he bought for her was enchanted making it hard for anyone to cast spells or hurt her, he wondered what she had to drink for her to feel such pain.

“I’m sorry to make u worry milord I won’t cause any more trouble while I’m here” She looked away holding back her tears, she hated making people worry especially over the small things the pain was too much for her to bear.

The maids fixed the bed as Rowland grabbed the shattered teacup with his handkerchief as he left the room making the maids follow right behind him.

“No need to cry you didn’t know, you need to rest once again.” Jasper swiftly picked her up as he placed her into the covers tucking her in as he sat next to her Nicole closed her eyes for a brief moment.

Edward glanced over at the Mansion feeling the presence of a human next to his little brother.

He couldn’t help but notice his fool of a brother mingling next to a mortal.

He spat in disgust as he walked into the mansion after being gone for several years he finally returned ready to cause mischievousness.
