Dongo’s black car stopped outside a private research facility.

The building looked ordinary from the outside, but the security around it made one thing clear.

Something important was being kept inside.Full novel: Vampire Who Fell in Love With a Blind Lady — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Dongo stepped out of the car.

Fizo followed him.

They entered the facility together.

Security doors opened one after another as they moved deeper into the facility.

Fizo stayed close behind Dongo, quietly watching their surroundings.

They passed several restricted laboratories before reaching a heavily secured section at the end of the corridor.

Fizo entered a security code, and the final door unlocked with a soft beep.

Dongo stepped inside.

Inside one of the laboratories, Dr. Xen stood with both hands raised.

A gun was pointed directly at him.

Dongo stood several steps away, watching him.

"Tell me everything you found."

Dr. Xen swallowed.

"I already told you—"

"I don’t want to hear that again."

Dongo raised the gun slightly.

"Tell me what you found. Everything. Don’t leave out a single detail."

Dr. Xen slowly looked toward the table beside him.

"Those are the only three things I have."

Dongo glanced at the table.

Three items were placed there.

Dr. Xen glanced at the table again.

He seemed hesitant for a moment, as if making sure he hadn’t missed anything.

"I’ve checked everything I could find."

Dr. Xen kept his hands raised.

"I swear. That’s everything."

Dongo suddenly fired.

The bullet struck an empty spirit lamp beside Dr. Xen.

Dr. Xen flinched and stepped back.

"I told you the truth!"

Dongo lowered the gun.

"Then let’s see."

A device covered one of his eyes.

A faint light appeared as he activated it.

The device scanned Dr. Xen’s notes.

Three lines appeared on the screen.

1. Bat’s Nail

2. Thorn Cloth

3. Hevix & Alcohol

Dongo read each line carefully.

His expression remained calm.

"So that’s all?"

"Yes."

Dr. Xen nodded quickly.

"I haven’t found anything else connected to Unknown Z."

Dongo lowered his gun completely.

He adjusted his apron.

"If you discover anything related to Unknown Z, call me immediately."

Dr. Xen looked at him.

"I will."

Dongo turned toward Fizo and held out his hand.

Fizo immediately understood.

He reached into his pocket and handed Dongo a card.

Dongo held it out toward Dr. Xen.

"Put whatever amount you want on this."

Dr. Xen looked at the card.

"For information about Unknown Z."

Dr. Xen slowly shook his head.

"I don’t need your money."

Dongo looked at him.

"If I find something, I’ll tell you."

Dr. Xen pushed the card back.

"I appreciate the offer, but I haven’t discovered anything useful yet."

Dongo took the card.

"Fine."

He slipped it back toward Fizo.

"But remember one thing."

Dr. Xen waited.

"If you find something, I want to know before anyone else."

"I understand."

Dongo turned around.

"Fizo. Let’s go."

"Yes, sir."

The two men left the laboratory.

Dr. Xen watched them disappear down the corridor.

He didn’t move until the sound of their footsteps had completely faded.

Only then did he slowly lower his hands.

He let out a quiet breath and looked toward the closed door.

The door closed behind them.

Dr. Xen remained where he was.

He waited.

A few seconds passed.

Then a crooked smile appeared on his face.

He walked toward his desk and opened a drawer.

From inside, he took out a small sealed container.

The real nail fragment was inside.

Dr. Xen looked at it carefully.

"So this is mine."

He placed it back in the drawer.

"And your money won’t solve this problem ."

He closed the drawer.

Dongo had seen the notes.

He had seen the three items.

But he had not seen the most important thing in the room.

The real evidence was still with Dr. Xen.

A few hours later, inside another part of Dosha City, a woman sat comfortably in front of a large mirror.

A second woman carefully painted her fingernails.

Each nail had a different color.

Ten nails.

Ten different shades.

Yet every color had been placed with careful precision.

The woman in the chair watched her reflection.

Her outfit was made from black, blue, green, and bright peacock-like colors.

The dress gave her appearance a bold, theatrical style.

The girl working on her nails smiled.

"Miss Eva, this dress really suits you. It makes your whole appearance look bold."

Eva looked at herself in the mirror.

She smiled.

"Does it?"

"Yes."

The girl held up another bottle.

"What about black lipstick?"

Eva nodded.

"Use it."

The girl carefully applied the lipstick.

Eva watched the mirror without moving.

When she finished, the girl adjusted three peacock feathers in Eva’s hair.

Then she added green color around Eva’s eyes.

She stepped back and examined her work.

Eva’s hair was a mixture of neon blue and green.

"All done."

Eva tilted her head.

"How do I look?"

The girl smiled.

"Beautiful."

Eva laughed.

"That’s what I wanted to hear."

She stood and looked at herself from another angle.

Then she turned toward the girl.

"Are you happy with your work?"

The girl nodded enthusiastically.

"Yes, Miss Eva."

A woman sitting nearby suddenly laughed.

Her name was Znuma.

She had a missing front tooth, which made her smile look unusual.

She pointed at Eva.

"I’ve fallen in love with you."

Eva looked at her.

"Sorry."

Znuma blinked.

Eva continued,

"I’m interested in men."

Znuma placed a hand over her chest dramatically.

"My heart is broken."

Eva laughed.

Before the conversation could continue, a maid entered the room.

"Miss Eva."

Eva turned.

"Yes?"

"There’s someone outside."

"Who?"

"A man named Zero. He has green and pink hair."

Eva’s expression changed slightly.

"Zero?"

"Yes."

Eva waved her hand.

"Send him in."

The maid nodded and left.

A few seconds later, Zero entered.

He looked slightly nervous.

The moment he saw Eva, he stopped.

For a moment, he seemed to forget what he had come to say.

His eyes moved over her colorful appearance.

"Miss Eva..."

Eva looked at him.

Zero smiled.

"Your beauty has no answer."

Eva laughed.

"You always know what to say."

Zero rubbed the back of his neck.

"I only said the truth."

Eva picked up a small envelope from the table and held it out to him.

"I have something for you."

Zero accepted it.

"What is it?"

"Work."

Zero opened the envelope.

"There is a shipment at the port."

Eva walked closer.

"I need you to help with it."

Zero nodded.

"Of course."

"And be careful."

"I will."

Eva looked at him for another second.

"Good."

Zero turned to leave.

Eva called after him.

"Zero."

He looked back.

"Yes?"

"Come back safely."

Zero smiled.

"Don’t worry, Miss Eva."

He left the room.

Eva watched him go.

Then she returned to her mirror.

Znuma looked at her.

"You flirt with everyone."

Eva smiled.

"Only when it’s useful."

Znuma laughed.

By evening, Zero had reached the port. The docks were still busy with workers moving cargo between the ship and the waiting trucks.

Several cargo containers stood near the loading area.

A group of men moved between them.

Their faces were covered with black cloth.

A large ship had arrived at the dock.

Workers began unloading boxes from it.

The workers moved in an organized line, carrying the boxes from the ship to the truck one after another.

Some boxes were light enough for one person to carry, while others required two men.

Zero remained beside the truck, checking each box before allowing it to be loaded.

Several minutes passed as the shipment slowly moved from the ship to the truck.

Zero stood nearby, watching everything carefully.

"Careful," he ordered.

"These belong to Miss Eva."

The workers nodded.

"Yes, sir."

One of them opened a box.

Inside were several weapons, including modified rifles and short guns.

The worker quickly checked the contents before closing the box again.

Zero glanced at the weapons for a moment before looking around the port.

"Handle every box carefully."

A supplier named Xuha stood beside him.

"Brother, I only know these two."

He pointed toward two of the men.

"The others don’t trust anyone."

Zero glanced at him.

"That’s normal."

Xuha gave a nervous laugh.

"Everyone in this business thinks the other person is waiting to betray them."

Zero looked toward the road.

"Just finish the work."

The men continued moving the boxes.

A few minutes later, one of the workers suddenly looked toward the entrance.

"Xuha!"

Everyone stopped.

"What?"

"The patrol team is nearby!"

He pointed toward the road.

"Look!"

Xuha immediately turned.

Several vehicles could be seen approaching from a distance.

Zero’s expression changed.

"How close?"

"Very close."

Zero looked toward the remaining boxes.

"Keep working."

One of the workers stared at him.

"Brother, should we stop?"

"No."

Zero looked toward the road again.

"If we panic now, we’ll attract more attention."

The workers hurried to finish.

A man picked up the final box and carried it toward the truck.

"Sir, the work is almost done."

"Check it and load it."

The man placed the box down.

He reached for the cover.

Then—

The port lights flickered.

Once.

Twice.

Then several lights went out at the same time.

Everyone stopped.

Xuha looked upward.

"What happened?"

Zero slowly turned toward the dark section of the port.

The workers stopped moving.

The patrol vehicles were getting closer.

The final box remained open.

Zero stared into the darkness.

Something had interrupted the shipment.

And whoever had done it had chosen the exact moment when everyone was trapped between the cargo and the approaching patrol team.
