“Forget it, no point in overthinking. I should continue compiling the data on the international gold market fluctuations.”
“Before getting off work, I still have to summarize it all and report to CEO Lin.”
After drifting in thought for a while, Shen Mengying finally snapped back to her senses. She shook her head lightly to dispel the messy thoughts in her mind, then buried herself in her work again. While she was busy, time flew by quickly, and before she realized it, evening had arrived.
“Finally, almost done organizing.”
Shen Mengying stretched lazily, printed out all the organized data, and was just about to report to Lin Wanrong once the printing was done, when suddenly a news alert popped up.
[Breaking News! The global hegemon, the Lighthouse Nation, has intervened in the war. International turmoil intensifies!]
“What?!” Shen Mengying’s expression froze.
[…]
A moment later, she reacted, quickly clicked into the international gold trading platform, and after seeing the latest sharp spike in international gold prices, she immediately grabbed the documents and rushed to knock on Lin Wanrong’s office door.
“CEO Lin, bad news. After Young Master Cao received 1 billion yuan in funds today, the first thing he did was invest it in the international gold market—and made a huge profit!”
Inside the CEO office of the Cao Corporation, seated in a grand boss chair as if it were a throne, Lin Wanrong’s eyes flickered slightly when she heard this. She quickly skimmed through the documents Shen Mengying brought over, then ordered, “Inform Cao Hai immediately. Have him come upstairs.”
…
At the same time, while Shen Mengying and Lin Wanrong were reacting in their own ways—
“Damn!”
Inside Baichuan Investment Co., Ltd., a string of thunderous exclamations erupted.
“The Lighthouse Nation has intervened, the war is escalating, and the international situation is becoming even more chaotic—”
“The demand for capital hedging among major international capital groups is about to skyrocket!”
“Wait, I need to refresh the international gold market’s latest stats!”
“The moment the news broke, demand in the international gold market surged again, and gold prices have started rising rapidly once more!” New chapters come out on g.com first.
“As of now, the market demand has doubled, and prices have shot up five percent!”
“The growth in both demand and price is way beyond what it was when the two nations initially declared war!”
“Judging by this trend, unless some bad news interrupts, a total price increase of over 20 percent is very likely!”
“Young Master Cao is incredible!”
“He nailed the investment timing again!”
After the shock came waves of regret.
“Damn it, we really shouldn’t have doubted Young Master Cao!”
“His circle is on another level from ours. The way he timed his gold investment so precisely… he obviously had insider information!”
“And we acted all smart, thinking our petty insights could outdo his insider knowledge. We even sold off our international gold investments early.”
“We just missed out on a huge pile of cash, damn it—I could punch myself in the thigh!”
“There was a golden opportunity for wealth right in front of me, and I didn’t cherish it!”

At the same moment, in the secretary office, Song Keran couldn’t help but clench her fists tightly again.
“Young Master Cao really surprised me again!”
She quickly walked out of her office and knocked once more on Cao Chuan’s office door.
“Young Master Cao, great news. The Lighthouse Nation has intervened in the war, and the international turmoil has escalated…”
Looking once again at Cao Chuan seated in the boss chair, Song Keran’s eyes were filled with curiosity and admiration.
“Based on the current trading volume and price trends of international gold, a 20 percent increase is just around the corner.”
Seated at the center of the office, Cao Chuan could clearly sense Song Keran’s attitude toward him had undergone a complete transformation.
He activated the Villain System’s Eye once again.
A line of information immediately surfaced.

As expected, both her loyalty and affection toward him had increased by 10 points.
Loyalty reached [Extremely Loyal], just half a step away from [Diehard Loyalty]. Affection also rose to the level of [Love], just shy of [Deeply in Love].
A faint smile curled at the corner of Cao Chuan’s mouth.
“Have the team sell everything when we hit a 20 percent profit margin.”
“Once that’s done, come back to my office and help me cool down.”
“Yes.” Song Keran didn’t say much else. Her cheeks flushed with a light blush and shyness as she lowered her head in response.
Later, after finishing her tasks and returning to Cao Chuan’s office, she considerately locked the door behind her and hung a [Do Not Disturb] sign outside.
Seeing this, Cao Chuan immediately got up and walked into the adjacent lounge.
When the office was being built, it was designed with all his needs as the Cao Family Eldest Young Master in mind—everything was fully equipped, just like home, extremely convenient.
Seated on the large bed in the lounge, he looked at Song Keran, who silently followed behind. He gently patted the space beside him.
Seeing this, Song Keran blushed once more. She immediately went to draw the blinds in the lounge, then quietly undressed herself in front of the window.
“Looks like… you’re already a mature secretary.”
“…”
