After exams, the two delinquents chose an abandoned lot far away behind the direction of the school for their fight.

“…Why are you two taking this so seriously?”

Tsuna sighed tiredly while standing between them.Full novel: Vongola X Yozakura: A KHR FANFIC — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Guys, go easy on each other, okay?”

“Got it.”

Both answered instantly.

Unfortunately, their eyes clearly said otherwise.

Tsuna felt a headache coming already as he walked away from them.

“This is an interesting match.”

Beside him, Reborn suddenly appeared while wearing sunglasses and casually eating popcorn.

Crunch.

“A battle between your family members.”

“Reborn!?”

Tsuna nearly jumped.

“Stop appearing out of nowhere…!”

Reborn ignored him completely.

“I wonder how much the two have improved since fighting you.”

Tsuna looked toward the popcorn bucket suspiciously.

Where did that even come from?

Crunch.

His eyes then slowly shifted toward Leon sitting on Reborn’s shoulder.

Is Leon like that blue cat?

Does he secretly have a pocket dimension somewhere in his body?

Meanwhile, the atmosphere between Rekka and Gokudera grew increasingly tense.

Weeks had passed since becoming friends.

They may have grown closer during the past few weeks… but a competition was still a competition.

Gokudera stepped forward first, his dynamites already lit between his fingers.

“Prepare yourself!

I’ll show you why I am Judaime’s right-hand man!”

Rekka cracked his knuckles.

“Come on, Bomber Man!

You may beat me in exams, but not in a fight.”

The fight began explosively.

“Double Bombs!”

Gokudera immediately kept his distance, launching dynamites with precise timing and angles.

BOOM!

BOOM!

Rekka dodged through the explosions and debris with sharp footwork, weaving through the blasts while closing the distance.

“You rely too much on dynamite!”

Rekka yelled as he rushed forward, fist already swinging.

“And you rely too much on your fists for a ninja wannabe!”

Gokudera dodged at the last second, using the recoil of his explosions to propel himself backward.

Rekka smirked before tossing several iron spheres toward him.

Gokudera countered immediately with his own dynamites.

BOOM!

“Damn copycat!”

“I’m the son of a fireworks maker.”

Rekka revealed proudly as he threw more iron balls.

Gokudera rolled aside, only for the entire area to suddenly fill with thick smoke instead of explosions.

“Smokescreen Jutsu!”

Rekka’s silhouette blurred through the haze.

“My ninja balls are smaller, lighter, and more versatile than your sticks!

My arsenal isn’t just about firecrackers!”

Gokudera stayed calm.

Thankfully, he had already studied countless ninja movies after hearing about Rekka’s fighting style.

Inside the smoke, Rekka attacked repeatedly from blind spots, constantly striking Gokudera from unpredictable angles.

“You suck at close combat!”

Rekka mocked while moving around within the smoke.

“Better than a coward who keeps hiding pathetically!”

Gokudera defended alertly, but still kept getting struck.

Damn it… He is harder to predict than I thought!

“It seems Rekka’s training at the Body Improvement Club is already showing results.”

Reborn commented while casually eating popcorn.

“Because his body became stronger, he can move faster and hit harder.

His ninja arts became stronger as a result.”

Tsuna nodded in agreement.

“Damn it… Double Bombs!”

Gokudera threw several bombs toward a dark figure in the smoke.

Not only to attack, but also to blow away the smoke itself.

BOOM!

“Substitution Technique!”

Rekka suddenly appeared behind him.

But instead of panicking, Gokudera suddenly grinned.

“Got yah!

I knew a ninja brain like yours would prefer sneak attacks from behind after your cover gets blown!”

He instantly turned around.

Both hands and even his mouth were holding triple the usual amount of dynamite.

“Triple Bombs!”

Bombs surrounded Rekka from every direction.

“That’s the move he failed before!

He mastered it!”

Tsuna exclaimed in surprise.

“That’s natural.

Gokudera is smart.”

Reborn remarked calmly.

However, Rekka still wasn’t done.

He suddenly crushed a firecracker in his hand.

After his battle with Tsuna, where his flames became larger but unstable, he had trained repeatedly to control them.

The key was the gunpowder inside his firecrackers.

It acted like fuel, jumpstarting and feeding his flames.

The moment the firecracker burst, his flames flared intensely around his fist.

“He’s become stronger since that fight.”

Reborn smirked.

“If I can’t escape, then I’ll break through head-on!”

Rekka roared.

“Ninpo: Flame Punch!”

He blasted apart the dynamites directly in front of him and charged through the explosions.

“Nani—!?

I thought you could only use your power to light your firecrackers!”

“That was before!”

Rekka swung his flaming punch toward Gokudera.

Gokudera blocked by crossing his arms, but the impact shattered his guard completely.

BOOM!

Gokudera was launched backward and slammed hard onto the ground.

“Game over.”

Rekka declared confidently, but to his surprise, Gokudera slowly stood back up.

His body trembled, but his eyes remained determined.

“Before Judaime’s eyes…”

He breathed heavily.

“I cannot afford to lose!”

He slid a silver ring with a red gem onto his finger.

Tsuna’s eyes widened.

“Is that… a Dying Will Ring!?”

I never expected Gokudera-kun to possess such an rare ring…

“I didn’t want to use this…”

Gokudera muttered.

“But since you fought seriously, I must respect you by going all out!”

He focused his resolve into the ring, igniting a crimson flame above the gem.

Tsuna gasped.

“That’s…!”

“Storm Flame.”

Reborn answered calmly beside him.

“The Flame of Disintegration.”

Tsuna’s expression paled.

“This is bad…”

He knew just how terrifying the destructive force of that flame.

“That flame is similar to the orange flame on Tsuna’s forehead back then…”

Rekka grew cautious.

Gokudera lit his dynamite using the Storm Flame.

The dynamite instantly became unstable and violent.

“Storm Bomb!”

“Your will…”

Rekka crushed twice the usual amount of gunpowder.

His flames intensified violently in response to his determination.

“I’ll face it head-on!”

With a burst of speed, Rekka’s flaming fist collided directly against Gokudera’s crimson explosion.

“FLAME PUNCH!”

BOOOOOOM!!!

The world vanished beneath an overwhelming shockwave.

Rekka roared as he tried to push through the Storm Explosion, but the pressure was overwhelming.

Inch by inch, he was being pushed backward, his feet carving deep trenches into the ground.

Rekka realized the problem, Gokudera’s red flames were gradually destroying his flames!

In that case….! This story is hosted at g.com.

Rekka shouted loudly to pump his fighting spirit to the maximum.

“BODY IMPROVEMENT!

FIGHT ON!”

As if responding to his spirit, Rekka’s flame grew stronger whenever it was destroyed by his opponent’s flame.

The flames fought violently, neither sides giving up as sparks constantly exploded across the air.

The atmosphere itself warped from the unstable energy and intense heat, twisting like a mirage.

“This is bad…”

Reborn wore a grave expression.

“If this continues, an even greater explosion will happen from the two flames clashing… both of them are in danger!”

“What…!?”

Tsuna stared at his struggling friends with his chest tightening.

Memories flashed through his mind.

Their chaotic days, their stupid arguments, the study sessions, and the laughters.

Everything became troublesome after meeting them…

but they also stopped my life from feeling lonely!

Tsuna’s eyes sharpened with resolve.

“Reborn…”

He clenched his fists.

“Shoot me.”

Reborn smirked faintly as Leon morphed into a gun.

“It seems you’re finally understanding your role as the next Vongola Sky.

Without hesitation, he raised his gun and pointed it directly at Tsuna’s head.

“Die.”

BANG.

The bullet struck Tsuna’s temple, instantly dropping him to the ground as a powerful Dying Will formed by intense regret took over his mind and body.

One second later, a vivid orange flame ignited on his forehead.

“EVEN IF IT KILLS ME—”

Tsuna roared.

“I’LL SAVE MY FRIENDS!”

“Jump Shot.”

Two bullets infused with Sun Flames struck Tsuna’s quadriceps.

“Fly, Tsuna.

Your jumping ability is strengthened now.”

In an instant, Tsuna launched forward like a rocket.

His movements became sharp and explosive like a grasshopper.

Just as the unstable flames were reaching their critical mass, Tsuna reached Rekka in time.

Without hesitation, Tsuna grabbed Rekka and then leaped a few more times before reaching Gokudera, who froze in shock as Tsuna grabbed him too.

In just a matter of few seconds, with one final leap that took them away from their location, the three of them escaped as…

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

The flames, without Rekka obstructing its way, exploded into a massive swirling fire maelstrom that completely devoured everything inside where they were standing before.

The abandoned buildings around them shook violently.

The floors cracked and the walls exploded apart.

Several pillars collapsed one after another, nearly causing the structures to crumble entirely.

“That was close…”

Rekka shivered while staring at the inferno behind them.

Gokudera weakly raised his hand.

The Storm Flame on his ring flickered before sputtering out completely.

CRACK.

His ring shattered into pieces from the strain.

Gokudera stared at the remains blankly.

“That…”

He coughed weakly.

“…was expensive.”

Rekka burst out laughing before standing up and offering him a hand.

“You’re not bad.

Just work on your close combat, man.”

Gokudera let out a tired laugh and accepted the hand.

“And you should work on your…”

He looked Rekka up and down.

“…everything else.”

They both laughed afterward.

Tsuna stared at them in disbelief before finally exhaling deeply in relief.

“They’re… actually getting along…”

The showdown ended in a tie.

In the end, the competition ended up as a invalid.

After all, the only one better for Tsuna was that blue-haired girl.

…
