Meanwhile, in the Imperial City, Noah and his father sat in the study.

“Hazel has annulled our engagement, and I would like to get engaged to the true heiress of the Xu family.”

Besides, I heard the Xu family had removed the fake daughter from the family,” the head of the Shao family said.

“I heard that too.

If that is all, I would like to take my leave.”

After saying this, Noah left the study.

These past few days, not having Hazel pestering him had been strange.

But remembering what he had told his friends, and how they had said she was using a hard-to-get tactic, he stopped thinking about her.

She had better stop pestering him.

He had already been intimate with Rosie, and he had promised her.

Excited that he had gotten his father’s consent, Noah hurried to tell his mother.

Together, they went to the Xu family with engagement gifts to finalize the engagement.

The next morning, Hazel checked out of the hotel and headed to the Guide Station in the military zone.

The building was a little shabby.

Hazel stepped inside, where she saw a pink-haired lady at the reception staring at her brain terminal.

As Hazel got closer, she could hear the video she was watching.

Hazel had to tap on the table to get the lady’s attention.

The woman only glanced up for a second before continuing to watch the video.

“Is there anything I can do for you?” she asked.

“I was posted here from the Guide Academy, and I have submitted my application here.”

“Oh.”

The pink-haired lady, Jane, switched off her brain terminal and looked at her.

“Name?”

“Hazel Xu.”

Jane clicked on the notification.

She almost jumped out of her seat.

After all, it had been two years since the Imperial City had last sent a Guide to the Eastern Region.

Now, their Sentinels would not have to rely only on purification potions.

They could finally receive guidance.

Jane clicked on Hazel’s Guide profile: name, gender, rank…

Seeing the F-class rank, her excitement plummeted.

Why had she ever thought the people from the Imperial City would send someone good?

Hazel noticed all her expressions and could guess why.

After all, her rank was indeed too low.

“My name is Jane.

You are the only Guide present in the Eastern Region, so you can make yourself comfortable.

The floor above contains the guidance hall, and the floor above that is where you will be staying.

You can choose any room except for the last room, which is where I am staying.

Jane rambled on, after which she stopped to take a breath.

“And welcome to the Eastern Region.”

Hazel nodded and headed upstairs.

The first floor was just as Jane had said, a long room meant for guidance.

She looked around for a while before going up to choose a room.

Hazel chose the middle room.

Opening the door, she expected to see a dusty room, but surprisingly, it was very tidy.

It consisted of a bed, a wardrobe, and a desk.

She went to check the bathroom, and everything was clean.

Still, she decided to clean it again.

Then she began arranging her clothes in the wardrobe and spread the blanket she had brought from home.

After this, she headed to the small kitchen she had noticed on her way up.

Other than some kitchen appliances, the kitchen was deserted.

So she returned to her room and brought out the nutrient solutions she had packed into her bag the night before she left.

Hazel remembered how shocked the house butler had been after her looting.

She opened the lid and drank the whole thing in one gulp.

Then she went to have a bath and changed into a silk-like nightgown.

As she lay on her bed, she returned to her Spirit Domain.

The sand map was still in front of the misty area, and the black sand had turned green, meaning she was getting closer to the contamination zone.

Her tendrils were excited to see her as they wrapped around her.

They finally returned to the Spirit Domain when she got to the front of this place.

She sat on the sand, staring at the waves from the ocean while her tendrils played with the water.

If the water splashed against them, she would also feel the wetness on her skin.

If Oleander or anyone from the organization were present, they would know that she was in a good mood.

A while later, she returned to her room, planning to sleep.

Meanwhile, not far away from the Guide Centre, a gathering had formed.

The Sentinels who had just come out of the contamination zone were eating and talking.

Beep beep.

[Domain corruption value: 85%.]

[Domain corruption value increasing.]

[Domain corruption value: 88%.]

Simon’s face gradually became paler as his brain terminal announced the readings.

He planned to return to his room to get a purification potion.

As he stood up to leave, his brain terminal announced:

[Domain corruption value: 91%.]

Almost immediately, he swayed.

As he began to fall, his comrades immediately helped him.

“Marshal!” Follow the newest chapters on g.com.

Knock!

Knock!

“Guide Hazel.”

Jane’s anxious voice came from the door.

Hazel had been awake since hearing her footsteps, so she went to open the door.

“The…” Jane took in a deep breath.

“The Marshal…”

“It’s okay.

Breathe,” Hazel said as she waited for Jane to calm down.

“The Marshal’s domain corruption value has erupted.

Please perform guidance for him, or he will go berserk.”

Hearing this, Hazel simply grabbed the jacket that belonged to the nightgown she had placed at the edge of the bed.

Then she followed behind Jane.

The man called Louis was waiting downstairs with an anxious expression.

He drove them to the Marshal’s house.

The hover car landed, after which they hurried into the house.

The Marshal was lying on the bed.

His hair had already grown in length, with the tips blooming with flowers.

Hazel sat beside him and held his arms.

She concentrated her mental power, trying to enter his mental domain, but she was met with resistance.

Despite him being unconscious, his mental barrier was strong.

“I want to perform guidance for you,” Hazel said calmly.

Then she tried again.

This time, she was allowed entry into the domain.

The sun was scorching, and the tall forest had turned brown, with some areas showing signs of desertification.

Her tendrils came out immediately and began to work.

Wherever they touched became green.

After the forest came to life, she formed a rain cloud using water from her Spirit Domain, and rain began to drizzle over the forest.

The dry earth showing signs of desertification became wet in a blink of an eye and turned into moist soil.

As the ancient forest trees seemed to grow taller, Hazel moved forward to find the spirit body.

Since she did not know his spirit beast form, this only made the search harder.

Her tendrils were not idle at all, lifting large leaves and leaving no stone unturned.

After searching half of the forest, Hazel finally saw a streak of white against the bark of a tree.

Before she could walk towards it, her tendrils had already rushed forward and wrapped themselves around it.

When she got closer, she saw a fat, short white snake enjoying the caress from her tendrils.

It opened its green eyes and stared at Hazel.

Then it slithered towards her.

Hazel thought she was seeing things…
