An unknown gaze from the Warp, like evil tentacles, wrapped tightly around Seth Knight’s throat.

Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.

Within Seth Knight’s body, the super-willpower granted by his Captain America bloodline roared fiercely through his veins.Full novel: Warhammer 40k: My First Gacha Pull Was Golden — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“You want to crush me? What kind of garbage is your greenskin god?!” a beastly growl tore from his throat.

*I’m the type who responds to carrots, not sticks.

Don’t you know to send a hundred or so succubus girls to tempt me instead?*

At the edge of the position, the Commissar, not even stopping to wipe the blood-soaked mud from his face, scrambled frantically toward the tactical communications console.

*Screeech—*

“Position 04 reporting! We have found the Emperor’s Chosen here! He single-handedly annihilated the main greenskin horde! Requesting orbital fire support! Repeat! Requesting orbital support!”

Harsh electromagnetic static echoed through the narrow trench.

A moment later, a voice crackled through the vox-caster: “Position 04, this is Fleet Command. Auspex scans indicate your sector is completely surrounded by heavy greenskin forces. Survival probability for mortals is zero. Your mission to hold the line has been more than fulfilled.”

The fleet commander paused, his voice carrying the patronizing tone of a death sentence.

“To completely halt the greenskin advance, an orbital lance bombardment has entered a thirty-second countdown. May the God-Emperor receive your souls.”

*Beep— Beep— Beep—* The transmission was abruptly cut.

“What?!” The Commissar’s mind went entirely blank.

Overhead, the orbital fleet’s planet-killing lance matrices were warming up, their blinding, destructive white light already piercing the clouds.

And ahead, the Gargant’s eerie green mega-cannon was fully charged!

The beam of light, like a roaring nether dragon, ripped through the void in an instant.

Carrying the absolute kinetic energy to vaporize all matter, it surged directly toward Seth Knight and the remnants of the trench!

An orbital lance strike from above, and a main cannon blast straight to the face!

Son of a bitch!

Certain death!

The defense of the surviving recruits collapsed utterly, and they closed their eyes in despair.

The Commissar’s knees slammed heavily into the mud, the fanaticism in his eyes instantly fading.

“A miracle… is it still no match for the Imperium’s cold, unfeeling machine after all…?” he muttered, giving up all resistance.

This was Warhammer.

The lives of the lowliest Astra Militarum were nothing more than cheap cannon fodder in the eyes of the high and mighty, used only to buy time to stabilize the front lines.

“Fuck! Get the hell out of the way, you useless piece of shit! You whining cowards!”

Seth Knight roared.

Dodge?

Dodge my ass!

Seth Knight gripped the Vibranium shield with both hands and charged head-on against the eerie green beam, which was over ten meters wide!

*CLANG— BOOM!!!*

A deafening metallic explosion erupted in everyone’s ears.

A miracle occurred.

The pure golden psychic energy disguised by the system perfectly fused with the Vibranium shield’s absolute kinetic absorption!

The eerie green beam, capable of vaporizing heavy tanks, was actually sliced right down the middle by the sharp edge of the Vibranium shield!

Split in two, the beam scraped past Seth Knight’s armor and both sides of the trench!

The mountain behind them was caught in the aftershock, its peak instantly shorn off as the rock melted into a roaring waterfall of white-hot magma.

This scene, defying all laws of physics, left the soldiers in the trenches dumbstruck.

Holy shit!

Even if a Primarch showed up, they couldn’t have cheated like this, right?!

By the time the Commissar snapped out of it, he grabbed the tactical recorder on his shoulder and aimed it squarely at the godlike figure in the air.

This visually staggering footage was broadcast directly onto the main screen of the fleet’s command deck!

On the feed, a mortal body, bathed in golden light, had sliced a starship-grade main cannon blast in half with a single-handed shield block?!

The entire command deck fell into a silence so absolute that a pin drop could be heard.

Every arrogant high-ranking officer stood up in shock.

The fleet’s supreme commander rasped in a cracked voice: “Fuck! Stop the bombardment immediately! Whoever dares press that firing button, I’ll execute them on the spot!”

The countdown representing certain death ground to a halt at the very last second.

On the ground, having withstood the direct blast of the main cannon, the Vibranium shield in Seth Knight’s hand had absorbed a colossal, terrifying amount of kinetic energy.

Vibranium technology + Emperor’s psychic energy = even the Chaos Gods would shake their heads in disbelief!

Seth Knight’s lips curled into an extremely savage grin.

Like a golden meteor rising in reverse, he rocketed straight up, braving the flak storm pouring from every corner of the Gargant!

Countless super-caliber armor-piercing shells pelted his armor, erupting into showers of sparks without even scratching his shield.

“I’m coming for you, motherfucker!”

Seth Knight slammed directly into the machine’s faceplate.

He rammed the shield violently into the Gargant’s exposed core power reactor!

Unleashing all the stored kinetic energy without holding back!

*BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!!!*

Raging golden light and purple shockwaves erupted violently from deep within the colossus.

The hundred-meter-tall iron beast ruptured piece by piece from the inside out, its heavy armor plating shredded into confetti.

Eerie green energy mingled with raging flames, forming a pillar of fire that shot straight into the heavens!

A single-strike chain explosion!

A rain of burning scrap metal fell from the sky, and the earth buckled and rolled like ocean waves.

Seth Knight hovered above the flames, his silhouette looking like a god descending to the mortal realm.

The entire Position 04 fell into a dead silence that lasted for ten long seconds.

Immediately following that, throat-shredding, fanatical roars erupted!

“God-Emperor protect us!!”

“An Angel! He is the Emperor’s walking Angel!”

“No! He is a Living Saint! He is the avatar of the Emperor’s miracle!”

The Commissar frantically slammed his forehead against the ground, utterly disregarding the blood streaming down his face, expressing his extreme devotion to the Emperor in the most primal way.

Meanwhile, in the distant orbital fleet command deck.

*Thud.*

*Thud.*

The useless bureaucrats, who usually held themselves in high regard and controlled the lives of billions, fell to their knees in unison on the cold metal deck.

Their hands frantically traced the sign of the Aquila across their chests, tears of old age streaming down their faces.

“That is… a Living Saint…” The commander trembled violently, his usual coldness and calculation utterly vanished.

No one doubted the identity of that golden-armored figure anymore.

The commander wiped the tears from his eyes, shoved aside the vox-operator blocking his path, grabbed the high-clearance vox-caster, and roared: “Coordinates: Position 04! Redirect all standby Astartes drop pods immediately!”

“Tell those noble Space Marines that this is not a support mission!”

“This is a royal escort! They are going to pay pilgrimage to the Emperor’s Chosen!”

High in the heavens.

The clouds, which had dispersed due to the aborted bombardment, were violently torn open once again by dozens of blinding streaks of fire.

Those were Astartes drop pods, dragging long tails of flame!

The drop pods tore through the long night like a meteor shower, hurtling toward Seth Knight’s location.

They were the Imperium’s most elite, most arrogant killing machines, yet now they rushed with the utmost urgency and fanaticism to worship the god in their hearts.

However.

Seth Knight, standing upon the scorched wreckage of the Gargant, did not look up at the sky.

His brows were furrowed tight, his eyes fixed on the danger warning flashing across his retina.

[Warning! Warp corruption invasion is still ongoing!]

The crimson warning light was so thick it looked ready to drip blood.

It was from that void dimension unreachable by ordinary mortals.

Seth Knight heard an incredibly arrogant roar.

“WAAAGH!!!”

What the fuck?!

There’s an even bigger, badder greenskin big boss?!

Seth Knight suddenly realized that the hundred-meter-tall greenskin machine from earlier was just an appetizer.

And the main course was only just arriving!
