“Steve! Get your ass down here!”
“I have a wartime search warrant issued by the Governor himself!”
“I don’t care if you’re the supreme commander of the PDF, or some highborn brat who hit the genetic lottery!”
“Today, even if I have to squeeze the shit out of your intestines and run it through a sieve, I’m checking everything!”
Inside the Chimera Armored Transport, Seth Knight cursed inwardly.
*Talk about bad luck.*
The Painted Skin Card actually came with inherited personal grudges.
How hated was this little bastard Steve in his daily life?
Before Seth could even speak, the bald adjutant standing beside the armored transport was already losing his temper.
Having eaten the god-tier, Holy Terra-level carbs provided by his commander, how could he stand by and watch his living savior take this kind of abuse?
“Fuck you!”
The bald adjutant’s eyes were bloodshot.
He raised his standard-issue lasgun, chambering a round with a sharp *clack*.
“The Enforcers think they’re hot shit! How dare you insult our commander!”
*Clatter!*
Hundreds of PDF troopers, still riding the high of the starch powder, instantly saw red.
The metallic scraping of drawing bolts echoed in unison.
Hundreds of dark muzzles locked onto the Enforcers’ defensive line.
The atmosphere was charged with tension, on the verge of exploding.
Facing hundreds of rifles, Raymonds didn’t panic.
Instead, he laughed even louder.
“You bunch of idiots! What, planning a mutiny?”
He slapped a control valve on his harness.
*Clack—*
Two twin-linked autocannons mounted on his armored suit’s shoulders slowly rose, their barrels locking onto the PDF convoy.
“This is a search warrant issued directly by the Planetary Governor!” Raymonds’s vox-caster rattled the air.
“Firing the first shot makes you heretic rebels!”
“I won’t even have to lift a finger. The Inquisition will throw your entire families into the nutrient paste grinders and turn you into corpse starch!”
Political pressure combined with terrifying firepower!
The PDF troopers stiffened.
No one dared pull the trigger.
Once branded a heretic in this desperate universe, death was the most merciful release.
“Hahaha!” The Enforcers erupted into unrestrained laughter.
In the distance, Underhive smugglers and scavengers watching from the shadows shook their heads.
In their eyes, the usually tyrannical PDF had finally kicked a steel plate.
Now, they either had to strip naked and accept the humiliation, or get turned into Swiss cheese.
There was no third option.
Seeing that he had cowed the crowd, Raymonds grew even more arrogant.
“Do you dare resolve our personal grudge in the oldest way of the Imperium?”
“A Sacred Duel!”
“As long as you can beat me, I’ll let you through.”
Hearing this, the bald adjutant’s face went pale.
He scrambled over to the command vehicle, lowering his voice in a desperate plea.
“Commander! Don’t be rash! That bastard has mastered master-class swordsmanship! He can take on a hundred men alone! This is clearly a trap to get you killed!”
To his surprise, Seth Knight sneered.
“Son, you talk too much.”
The Enforcers froze.
A few seconds later, they burst into even harsher mockery.
“Is this soft PDF wimp out of his mind?”
“Challenging a master swordsman barehanded? Who does he think he is, an Astartes?”
The PDF soldiers broke out in a cold sweat, watching their commander go to his death in despair.
Raymonds felt immensely insulted.
A piece of trash who only relied on his noble background dared to look at him with that kind of gaze?
“Die!”
He charged directly at Seth.
Like a rampaging iron bull, Raymonds swung his heavy sword with a screeching tear through the air!
Bringing it down like a collapsing mountain, he aimed to cleave Seth’s skull in two!
The wind howled.
The onlookers were thrilled, eager to see brain matter splatter everywhere.
In the depths of Seth’s eyes, the golden light disguised beneath the Emperor’s blessing erupted.
He didn’t retreat; instead, he stepped forward.
The terrifying, monstrous strength granted by his Captain America bloodline surged through his right arm as he reached upward!
*Smack!*
A dull explosion of sound.
A barehanded blade catch!
Seth’s fingers, like an indestructible steel vise, clamped onto the high-speed heavy sword, stopping it dead in its tracks!
Sparks flew.
Raymonds’s eyes bulged.
No matter how hard he strained, the heavy sword in his hands remained locked in mid-air, completely motionless.
“That’s it?” Seth sneered.
Immediately after, Seth whipped his leg out, his boot slamming brutally into the Enforcer captain’s plasteel visor.
Raymonds, armor and all, was sent flying backward through the air, crashing heavily into the alloy barricades behind him.
Raymonds’s plasteel helmet collapsed completely.
Blood mixed with shattered teeth sprayed wildly from the seams of his helmet. This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.
He twitched twice before collapsing limply into the heap of scrap metal.
A one-hit defeat.
Clean.
Brutal.
The Enforcers stood with their mouths agape, staring at Seth as if he were a Warp monster wearing human skin.
“Long live the Commander!!”
After a brief, stunned silence, the hundreds of PDF soldiers erupted in a fanatical roar that threatened to tear the ceiling off.
Who wouldn’t want to follow a badass commander?
With a commander this fierce, why should they give a damn about the Enforcers!
Seth stepped on Raymonds’s caved-in chest armor.
With a slight squeeze of his foot, Raymonds let out a painful groan.
“Cough, cough…”
By now, Raymonds’s eyes were filled with bone-deep terror.
“Still want to search my intestines now?” Seth asked dismissively.
Raymonds wept bitterly, crying out, “No more searching! My lord! Commander! I was blind!”
Spitting blood, he shrieked at his subordinates behind him, “Are you all fucking blind?! Move the barricades! Let the commander through!”
The three heavy barricades blocking the front of the convoy were quickly dragged away by the trembling Enforcers.
The convoy’s engines roared to life once more.
Hundreds of PDF soldiers proudly climbed back onto the transports, raising their middle fingers at the Enforcers without any reservation.
Amidst sky-rending laughter, the massive convoy rolled right through the defensive line.
Ultimately, Seth couldn’t suppress his curiosity and voiced his confusion.
“What kind of deep-seated grudge did that old bastard have against me to try and kill me like that?”
Hearing this, the bald adjutant scratched his shiny forehead.
His expression suddenly turned extremely bizarre, tinged with a hint of unspeakable embarrassment.
“Commander, did you really forget? It was at midnight last month.”
“You and Captain Raymonds got into a massive brawl over a star dancer named ‘Wavy’.”
“In the end, you grabbed a cup of high-concentration promethium drink and threw it straight onto Captain Raymonds’s crotch.”
“I heard… the burns were pretty severe.”
The bald man lowered his voice, suppressing a laugh.
Seth’s face went completely blank with irritation.
No wonder the guy was trying so hard to kill him.
That grudge was indeed massive.
Wait, that’s not right.
I’ve already taken care of the original Steve.
So, technically, I indirectly avenged Raymonds.
I’m literally Raymonds’s savior!
What a miserable bastard, biting the hand that feeds him like this.
Just as Seth was cursing the original owner of his body, *beep beep beep—* the specially encrypted communicator at his waist suddenly vibrated violently.
