Deep beneath the hidden lunar forge complexes of the Thokt Dynasty, experimentation began immediately.

The AllSpark hovered within a massive Blackstone containment lattice while millions of layered suppression fields struggled continuously to stabilize its impossible energies.

Even in its restrained state, the artifact radiated life.Full novel: Warhammer 40K: The Eternal Machine — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Machines awakened merely by existing near it.

Inactive drones twitched unpredictably while damaged constructs spontaneously repaired themselves under prolonged exposure.

Several lesser scarab swarms had already developed unstable autonomous behavior before being disassembled for study.

Mike stood silently before the containment chamber while endless streams of data flowed across holographic displays.

Nearby, the dismantled body of Megatron was connected directly to countless extraction systems.

His memories continued revealing deeper layers of Cybertronian science with every passing hour.

Energon mechanics.

Transformation coding.

Spark stabilization.

Prime lineage archives.

And most importantly

Fragments of knowledge regarding the original Primes themselves.

Mike processed everything rapidly.

The Cybertronians fascinated him more than expected.

Unlike the Necrons, they had not sacrificed themselves for immortality.

Their sparks remained intact.

Living machine souls bound perfectly to adaptive metallic bodies.

A synthesis between technology and life.

Something the Necrons had failed to achieve during biotransference.

Mike turned his attention back toward the AllSpark.

“If it can evolve machine life…” he murmured, “then perhaps it can evolve us as well.”

The experiments began immediately.

Inside a heavily shielded testing chamber, several Necron warriors stood motionless beneath containment restraints while the AllSpark’s energy was carefully redirected through Blackstone regulators.

A cryptek monitored the readings nervously.

“My phaeron… energy fluctuations remain unstable.”

Mike ignored the warning.

“Proceed.”

The AllSpark pulsed.

Blue-white energy surged outward into the warriors instantly.

For several moments

Nothing happened.

Then the Necrons changed.

Necrodermis shifted fluidly across their bodies as transformium-integrated nanites evolved rapidly beneath the artifact’s influence.

Armor plates restructured themselves while glowing energy conduits formed naturally through their frames.

One warrior’s arm unfolded suddenly.

An integrated cannon emerged directly from beneath the living metal instead of requiring external weapon attachment.

Another warrior transformed partially, lower limbs restructuring into high-speed mobility systems before reverting moments later.

The crypteks stared silently.

Mike stepped closer.

Interesting.

Very interesting.

The Necrons had not gained full Cybertronian transformation abilities

But adaptation had occurred.

Their internal power systems evolved significantly while weapon integration became far more efficient.

Instead of carrying weapons separately, their bodies themselves became weapons.

Energy storage capacity increased enormously as well.

The warriors no longer relied purely on external systems.

They were becoming living war machines.

One warrior raised its arm.

A pulse cannon formed instantly from shifting necrodermis before firing a concentrated blast through reinforced testing walls.

The cryptek checked the readings immediately.

“Energy efficiency increased by over two hundred percent.”

Mike observed calmly.

“And structural integrity?”

“Improved.”

Another pause.

“But…”

The cryptek hesitated.

“Their mental processes are changing slightly.” Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.

Mike narrowed his eyes.

“How?”

“More adaptive.

Less rigid.”

Interesting.

The AllSpark was affecting more than their bodies.

It was touching the remnants of their consciousness as well.

Mike turned back toward the glowing artifact thoughtfully.

If he could obtain the Matrix of Leadership, perhaps its archived memories and Prime knowledge could fully explain the deeper nature of Cybertronian sparks.

And perhaps

The path toward restoring true consciousness to the Necrons completely.

But first

He required more resources.

More knowledge.

More power.

Mike turned toward the assembled crypteks.

“Deploy the fleets.”

The chamber fell silent immediately.

“Send the forge ships across this galaxy.

Harvest all viable materials, technologies, and energy sources.”

One cryptek bowed deeply.

“And resistance, my phaeron?”

Mike’s eyes glowed coldly.

“Exterminate all opposition.”

“At once.”

Across the hidden dimensional vaults, entire Necron fleets awakened instantly.

Massive harvest vessels emerged silently into the galaxy while forge worlds activated for full-scale production.

Scarab swarms numbering in the billions are prepared for planetary resource extraction across countless systems.

The Thokt Dynasty had officially begun expanding into the Transformers universe.

And unlike the fragmented factions already fighting within it

Mike intended complete dominance.

Yet before expanding further, there remained one individual Mike desired above all others.

Megatronus Prime.

The Fallen.

One of the original Primes.

Ancient beyond comprehension.

And currently weakened after centuries of isolation.

Mike stood in the command chamber, studying the recovered Cybertronian star charts carefully.

Titan.

Saturn’s moon.

That was where the Fallen remained hidden.

Unlike Megatron or Sentinel Prime, the Fallen possessed direct knowledge dating back to Cybertron’s earliest eras.

His memories alone could surpass an entire civilization’s worth of scientific archives.

Mike intended to claim them.

Personally.

The journey to Titan was swift.

A single heavily armed vessel emerged silently within Saturn’s orbit while dimensional distortions flickered across its dark metallic hull.

Titan loomed ahead beneath endless storms.

Sensors immediately detected ancient Cybertronian energy readings hidden beneath the moon’s surface.

Mike descended alone.

The frozen landscape trembled faintly beneath his footsteps as he entered an ancient buried structure older than humanity itself.

At its center

A figure waited.

Tall.

Black armored.

Ancient power radiates from every movement.

The Fallen slowly raised his head.

“You are not one of my children,” the ancient Prime said coldly.

Mike remained calm.

The Fallen’s optics narrowed.

“But you carry their technology.”

“And more.”

Silence followed briefly.

Then the Fallen moved instantly.

Space distorted violently.

Mike barely reacted before an energy blade tore through the chamber with enough force to split mountains apart.

The ancient Prime moved with terrifying speed despite his weakened condition.

Mike countered immediately.

Blackstone-enhanced nanites erupted outward while integrated particle cannons formed directly from his transformed arms.

The chamber exploded into war.

The Fallen manipulated space itself, teleporting unpredictably while hurling devastating energy strikes capable of destabilizing matter.

Mike answered with overwhelming precision.

Reality distortion fields collided against Prime technology while dimensional fractures spread across the buried ruins.

The moon itself shook.

The Fallen appeared directly before Mike suddenly.

A blazing blade descended.

Mike blocked partially

Too slow.

The weapon severed his left arm instantly.

Necrodermis fragments scattered across the chamber while damaged nanites screamed through emergency reconstruction routines.

The Fallen attacked again immediately.

“You imitate divinity,” the ancient Prime hissed.

Mike’s remaining arm transformed instantly into a massive integrated singularity cannon.

“No,” he answered coldly.

“I surpass it.”

He fired.

The chamber collapsed.

Titan’s crust fractured violently as compressed gravitational energy struck the Fallen directly.

Even a Prime could not withstand such force entirely.

The Fallen staggered.

For the first time

He showed weakness.

Mike moved instantly.

Blackstone restraints erupted from the ground while billions of nanites flooded over the damaged Prime like silver oceans.

The Fallen roared in fury, tearing apart entire sections of the restraints

But it was too late.

Mike’s transformed systems are fully activated.

Integrated energy weapons unfolded across his body while AllSpark-enhanced nanites overloaded the Fallen’s spark containment systems directly.

Then Mike drove a Blackstone blade through the Prime’s chest.

The Fallen froze.

Energy erupted outward violently.

And finally

The ancient Prime collapsed.

Silence returned slowly.

Mike stood amidst the ruined chamber while damaged systems regenerated across his missing arm gradually.

The battle had cost him more than expected.

Interesting.

Even weakened, a Prime remained extraordinarily dangerous.

Yet Mike had won.

He approached the Fallen’s corpse carefully.

One of the original thirteen Primes.

And now

Another source of knowledge.

Another resource.

Another step forward.

Dimensional storage fields activated as the Fallen’s body vanished.

Mike turned silently toward the darkness outside Titan’s shattered ruins.

Then he returned to the moon.

To continue evolving the future of the Necrons.
