Guilliman looked into Yvraine’s emerald eyes, which were as deep as pools, a confident smile on his face as he threw out his real “bait.”

“Lady Yvraine, as far as I know, the Aeldari’s mastery over the domain of souls is unmatched, allowing the souls of those who die heroically in battle to be preserved, sparing them from being devoured by Slaanesh.”

His tone was calm, as if discussing an ordinary matter.Full novel: Warhammer 40k: The Invincible Regent — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“But unfortunately, their original bodies will eventually rot and decay. And these precious souls can only reside forever within the cold infinity circuits of your starships, like imprisoned stars.”

He sighed gently, with a well-timed touch of pity.

“How deeply regrettable. Mighty warriors should gallop across the battlefield, not fall silent in dark circuits.”

Changing the subject, a gleam flashed in Guilliman’s eyes.

“And here, I happen to possess a treasure left over from humanity’s Golden Age—a medical pod capable of restoring living bodies and maintaining their vitality for a long time. As long as they are not completely brain-dead or their souls have not dissipated, it can repair almost any physical damage, allowing the user to emerge ‘completely whole’.”

He looked at Yvraine, his words carrying a deeper meaning.

“I believe that when combined with the power you command, derived from Ynnead… those brave warriors who sacrificed themselves for the Aeldari will have a chance to return to their fully restored bodies and continue to fight for the survival of their race. This may greatly alleviate the Aeldari’s plight of a dwindling population.”

Saying this, Guilliman elegantly snapped his fingers.

With a soft click, a sleek, pure white pod appeared out of thin air behind him.

The pod was covered by a transparent viewing window, through which one could clearly see it was filled with a thick, life-essence-like liquid emitting a soft green light.

Even from a distance, one could feel the dense, almost tangible aura of life and vitality washing over them.

This was something Guilliman had just redeemed from the system.

Yvraine’s breath hitched imperceptibly, her emerald eyes instantly lighting up as she stared intently at the medical pod.

*(Such technology… the Aeldari might have possessed it at our peak, but today, we have indeed lost too much…)* she thought, deeply shaken.

*(Able to keep a body viable for a long time and rapidly repair all injuries? If one only needs to soak in it…)*

A hopeful prospect unfolded in her mind.

If Ynnari warriors were severely wounded in battle, as long as their souls could be guided and preserved in time, and their bodies placed in this medical pod for repair, then, utilizing her power of the death god to re-establish the connection… the Ynnari might truly achieve “zero casualties”!

As long as they weren’t utterly annihilated on the spot, there would always be a way to save them!

Despite the waves of emotion in her heart, Yvraine maintained her composure on the surface.

She nodded gently, her voice still pleasant to the ear: “Lord Guilliman, the vision you present is indeed enticing. However, for an apparatus of such importance, I must personally verify its efficacy.”

“Of course,” Guilliman agreed readily.

“Do you need me to find the corpse of a recently fallen human soldier?”

“No need to go to such trouble,” Yvraine smiled faintly.

Before her voice could fade, an exquisitely decorated yet exceptionally sharp Aeldari dagger appeared in her hand out of nowhere.

Without hesitation, she raised her hand, and with a flash of cold light, she sliced a deep wound into her flawless, jade-like left arm, cutting straight to the bone!

Blood welled out instantly, sliding down her fair skin.

A flash of admiration showed in Guilliman’s eyes.

*(Decisive and ruthless to herself. Truly worthy of a woman who clawed her way out of the Commorrite gladiatorial arenas.)*

“Please, Lady Yvraine.” He stepped aside, making a gesturing hand.

Yvraine’s expression remained unchanged, as if the injured person weren’t herself.

She walked calmly to the medical pod.

The pod cover slid open silently, and she stepped in without hesitation, immersing herself completely in the viscous liquid that radiated green life-force.

Strangely, she found she could breathe freely in the liquid!

It seemed to directly supply her body with the necessary oxygen, with no sensation of choking.

She raised her injured arm and, looking through the viewing window and the liquid, clearly saw the gruesome wound healing at a speed visible to the naked eye!

The muscle tissue writhed and knitted, skin covered it once more, and in a mere five minutes, her arm was as flawless as before.

Not even a trace of a scar remained, as if she had never been injured!

Yvraine rose from the medical pod.

The liquid slid off her body automatically, vaporizing instantly upon hitting the floor without leaving a trace.

She flexed her completely healed arm, feeling the abundant vitality within her body, and finally could not hide her wonder.

“Incredible… Even with severely ruptured organs or severed limbs, I believe this device would be enough to fully repair them within an hour. This truly is a great creation of humanity’s Golden Age.”

Guilliman looked at her, a smile on his face that blended reminiscence with emotion.

“Indeed. Humanity in that era once touched such heights of glory… I also sincerely hope that the Imperium will one day see a sliver of that splendor restored.”

“Then,” Yvraine turned to Guilliman, a sincere and charming smile on her face, “I hope that I, and the Ynnari, can contribute a part of our strength to that end. I shall arrange your journey to Commorragh. My ships will open their doors to you.”

“That would be wonderful.” Guilliman smiled too, the pleasure of completing a deal evident in his expression.

They both understood without saying it aloud.

If it was just exchanging a single “ticket” aboard an Aeldari starship to Commorragh for a high-tech medical creation from humanity’s Golden Age, on the surface, Guilliman was taking a massive loss.

He used a mass-producible “item” to obtain the key to the heart of the Drukhari and contact the Haemonculi, while further securing his alliance with the Ynnari.

Yvraine likewise felt she had struck an incredible bargain.

The simple “hitchhiking” service she provided had brought the Ynnari, and indeed the entire Aeldari race, a strategic-grade medical technology that could potentially reverse their population decline.

For a moment, the atmosphere in the VIP room became even more relaxed and harmonious.

Guilliman even took the interest to have Macragge-style pastries and fragrant black tea brought in, planning to chat a bit longer with this intelligent, beautiful, and powerful Aeldari ally.

After all, conversing with such an aesthetically pleasing ally was a pleasure in itself.

Guilliman’s current life was rather bleak.

In his past life, he could at least scroll through videos of beautiful women every night to cultivate his mind.

But now, whenever he looked up, he saw either hulking brutes with two hearts and three lungs, or oil-slicked tech-priests.

While he was virtually invincible physically, psychologically, he was still a normal adult male.

He definitely had physical desires, especially since his current loins were practically a perpetual motion machine.

Seeing a beautiful woman, the dormant fire practically rushed to his head.

He didn’t dare touch ordinary human women; his control over his strength was not yet fully refined.

If he accidentally used too much force and exploded one into a red mist, he believed it would leave him with a lifelong trauma.

But the strong and beautiful Aeldari warrior woman in front of him was an excellent option.

As everyone knew, chatting was the first step to wooing a woman.

And Guilliman had already made up his mind.

With 250,000 sons of his own, how could they not have a few stepmothers?

How could the future Lord Regent of the Imperium of Man not have a harem of thousands of beauties?

His own physiological needs were secondary; the main thing was to let his sons experience a mother’s love~

As for heresy?

Or “Long Live Humanity”?

So what?

If the Khan could do it, why couldn’t the Lord Regent of the Imperium?
