“My Lord, you are not taking action?”

“Trust her, Valdor.”

He had long suspected that the chaos gods might be behind the Ursh Empire, but he truly hadn’t expected them to intervene directly.

One must wonder, when The Emperor wiped out the Moranson Federation, whose entire population worshipped the chaos gods, they had merely watched from the sidelines.

Why were they acting now?

It was Morningstar.

Clearly, unlike the Moranson Federation, Morningstar was involved in this operation.

That was the reason the chaos gods acted; they were here to snatch the action figure.

Khorne actually knew that it was a bit too early for him to enter the stage.

Right now, Morningstar didn’t even have her own Legion.

The best time would be when that Blue Bird’s plan began in the future.

But Khorne couldn’t wait.

Morningstar was too much to his liking.

Initially, when Morningstar was first born, he hadn’t paid much attention.

A Psyker, a compassionate Primarch—perhaps his other two colleagues would like her?

Maybe the soon-to-be-born new colleague would also like her because of her appearance?

But none of those were what Khorne wanted.

What he wanted was Battle Bliss!

And then, Khorne enjoyed the show.

For Khorne, the God of Blood and War, watching countless enemies engage in close-quarters slaughter was what he loved.

Commanding a grand war was also what he loved.

This was why he tried to corrupt the Stone Man in the original lore, and Morningstar fit all those criteria perfectly.

What surprised Khorne even more was that he discovered Morningstar also harbored a surging torrent of emotion within her heart during the slaughter.

Okay, what else was there to say?

All in!

Khorne knew that Morningstar would definitely suit the tastes of his other colleagues as well, and they would surely compete with him when the time came.

That wouldn’t do.

He had to act first or suffer the consequences.

Today, he would be the first to get his hands on the action figure.

The winged demon sneered as wave after wave of monsters poured from the rift behind him.

However, like a school of sardines encountering a shark, they all avoided Morningstar and instead lunged at the people behind her.

“I am Kabanha, the Bloodthirster under the Blood God.

Morningstar, the Blood God favors you.

Join the Blood God’s service to enjoy endless war, and offer blood and skulls to the Blood God.”

So it was Sanguiniha—oh wait, no, it was Kabanha.

Morningstar truly hadn’t expected to encounter a Greater Daemon of Khorne here.

Morningstar didn’t speak.

She ignored the enemies scurrying around her.

In her gaze, she could only see this tall, bloody creation.

She was going to kill him; she was going to grind his bones to ash.

She moved.

Like a streak of golden lightning, Morningstar pounced toward Kabanha.

The longsword and battle-axe collided, producing a piercing sound of clashing metal.

Kabanha roared, also looking forward to a fierce slaughter with Morningstar.

This was a battle beyond normal scales.

For mortals, watching an Astartes fight was like watching a wind carrying shadows.

For the Astartes present, watching the battle between Morningstar and Kabanha was also like watching a wind carrying shadows.

They could only see golden and red shadows constantly intertwining and colliding, producing a series of thunderous booms.

The battlefield was torn apart by their combat, with craters appearing like those from artillery shells, and countless lesser demons were caught in the crossfire, shredded by the shockwaves of the fight.

The only person on the scene who could see clearly was Alpharius.

His gaze closely followed Morningstar.

If Morningstar fell into a disadvantage, he would definitely stop hiding his strength and intervene directly, even if he had to accept being scolded by his teacher upon his return.

“Hahaha, Morningstar, I feel it!

You’re very excited too, aren’t you?

Your blood is boiling because of today’s slaughter!

Join us, Morningstar, and under the Blood God, you can enjoy this feeling forever!”

“You’ve misunderstood.

I’m this excited because I’m excited about the fact that I’m about to kill you.”

Morningstar revealed a terrifying smile.

Anyone who saw this smile would feel a shudder from the inside out.

But Kabanha only became more excited.

Forget it; the recruitment effort could wait.

He wanted to enjoy the fight first.

The massive battle-axe grazed Morningstar’s chest.

Any slower and Morningstar’s heart would have been shattered.

Morningstar spun her body with the momentum, swinging her longsword fiercely at Kabanha’s neck, but Kabanha used the chain in his hand to whip around and entangle Morningstar’s sword.

“Tsk.”

Morningstar was a bit anxious.

She could afford to wait, but the Astartes behind her could not.

She had to settle this quickly.

Making a decision in her heart, Morningstar directly let go of the longsword entangled by the demon’s whip.

She didn’t dodge the descending battle-axe but instead charged toward it.

The moment the axe was about to touch the top of Morningstar’s head, she tilted her body to the side, and another longsword pierced straight through the demon’s chest.

She wasn’t done.

Morningstar gripped the sword tightly with her right hand and slashed fiercely, slicing open half of the demon’s chest.

Morningstar was not unscathed.

She hadn’t completely dodged the previous strike, and a large gash was cut into her left shoulder, which was now bleeding profusely.

The demon knelt on the ground, clutching his wound.

He felt himself being constantly rejected by the material world; he was about to be banished back to the Warp.

“Morningstar, you cannot kill me.

We will meet again.”

“Is that so?”

Morningstar took a deep breath and shouted toward the sky.

“Dad!”

A longsword fell, landing in front of Morningstar and embedding itself into the ground before her.

When Morningstar pulled out this sword, blazing flames danced upon the blade.

Kabanha: “Not good!”

A Warp rift suddenly opened, and Kabanha was sucked in with lightning speed.

Morningstar sighed.

She really wanted to permanently delete the demon’s account, but the chaos gods would surely intervene directly.

Forget it; she could consider this a successful banishment of a Greater Daemon.

The Warp rift had already closed.

Without the support of Warp power, the lesser demons present were total pushovers and were soon slaughtered.

Morningstar also used the Deletion Sword to kill a few along the way.

“Withdraw.”

Looking at the Astartes before her, Morningstar gave the order.

She wasn’t worried that the events here would be spread by these Astartes.

After all, those here today were all from the First Legion, and they were the best at keeping secrets…

“So Dad, you have to explain this clearly to me now.”

“…This can all be explained by science.”

Morningstar didn’t speak.

She sat in a chair with a “Do you think I believe you?” expression on her face, looking at The Emperor while a medic behind her treated her wound.

“Everyone out.”

Once Morningstar’s wound was treated, The Emperor dismissed everyone.

Now only Morningstar and The Emperor remained in the room.

The Emperor also set up a psychic barrier to ensure that what was said today wouldn’t be overheard.

Subsequently, The Emperor explained everything about the chaos gods and the Primarch Project to Morningstar.

“Wouldn’t it have been better if you’d said so earlier?”

Morningstar rubbed her forehead.

It was lucky she already knew about these things; if she hadn’t known anything, who knows how today might have turned out.

“So Dad, are you going to tell the brothers about this?”

“…”

“Oh, you never learn.”

A disagreement arose between Morningstar and The Emperor.

The Emperor felt that since the sons scattered abroad were of unknown status, it was better not to tell them about the chaos gods.

Morningstar felt that the chaos gods would definitely target her brothers in the future, so it was better to tell them in advance so they could be prepared.

They were all Primarchs and were reasonable.

In the original lore, very few of the Primarchs who rebelled did so by actively turning to Chaos.

“Sigh, let’s not talk about that for now.

Dad, what are your thoughts on attacking the Ursh Empire?”

“The situation has been ascertained.

They have a large number of Psyker units and a billion-strong army.”

“?”

“They also have Siege engines capable of directly destroying a Hive City.”

“Ha, Dad, why don’t you just command this yourself?

I suddenly remembered something’s up with Mom, I’m going back now, okay?”

The Emperor directly picked up Morningstar as she tried to run away: “Don’t worry, I won’t give you any tasks that are too difficult.”

“Really?” Morningstar blinked as she was held up.

“Really.”

“And If you’re enjoying it, drop a Power Stone for me!”
