A black Cadillac Escalade stopped in front of them, and Liam, seeing the license plate, nodded his head and walked ahead, rolling Clara’s suitcases with him. Both girls looked his way with confusion.

"This is the car."

Liam looked back and gestured for them to hurry up. The driver came down and helped Liam store the suitcases in the back. Liam opened the back seat door for the girls to enter first, then he sat beside the driver.

"Wow, this car is so fancy."

Clara, looking at the car, was impressed, but it was still not as good as Liam’s personal vehicle she rode in before. Megan also seated herself comfortably, the heater inside the car making her cold feet warm.

"Yes, this car is very comfortable. Must be expensive, right?"

Megan looked at the rearview mirror, where her eyes could see Liam, and asked. Liam nodded his head and saw the driver finally entering the car, so he didn’t answer it broadly.

"This is nothing, Liam has this huge car, longer than this. Did you leave it at home?"

"N..No, ahem! Peacock Inn, Princeton."

Liam almost choked with embarrassment when Clara brought his car up. He doesn’t like to brag, but this girl was doing it on his behalf. He just simply let the driver know their destination.

"Alright, Sir."

The driver nodded his head and started the car. The drive was long; they had to cover about 70 miles, and it would take almost two hours to reach the Inn.

"Is that so?"

Megan raised an eyebrow. She never took Liam for a rich guy. He was dependable, responsible, and made everything look easy, but she never imagined him to be rich.

"Yep, it’s black in color and feels like you’re in a chopper, exclude the sound. It’s that comfortable."

"Chopper?"

"Yes!! It feels like it glides in the air."

Clara and Megan’s chatter didn’t stop there, while Liam could only look outside with awkwardness. His heart sometimes beat faster when he saw the driver making a mistake, but he was treating this also as a practice of self-control.

"Sir, if you don’t mind, what kind of car do you have?"

As Liam was focused on the road and how the car behaved in different people’s hands, he heard the driver asking the question. Clara and Megan were not stopping the gossip about his car, so it was a natural reaction.

"Yeah, Liam, tell me too. I only heard it’s black and huge."

Megan tapped on Liam’s shoulder to grab his attention. Clara just glared at the hand that touched Liam and ground her teeth in anger. She wanted to bite that hand so bad.

"Sigh! Well, it’s not a bear. It’s a Range Rover."

"Only Range Rover?"

The driver, hearing it was only a Range Rover, was skeptical. Old model Range Rovers are not that expensive, and comparing it with his almost-new 2010 Escalade made it feel like the pretty girl in the back was just bragging.

"2015, Range Rover Autobiography Long Wheelbase."

"Damn! That’s a big ass car."

Deshawn was immediately impressed, then looked at Liam from head to toe. This boy doesn’t look like he owns a car this expensive.

"Right? What’s your name, Mr. Driver?"

"Deshawn Paul. Heck yeah, girl, your boy got a damn good car."

"Hear this, Megan? My boy has a damn good car."

This fucking idiot... x2

Both Liam’s and Megan’s mouths opened a little with shock. Deshawn saying ’your boy’ sounded completely normal, but the moment Clara changed it into ’my boy’, it sounded like something entirely different. Megan tried to tell her several times, but the words seemed stuck in her throat as her hands moved around, trying to explain it, but she gave up in the end.

Megan felt so frustrated being around this naive girl. If Liam was not here, she might not even consider talking with her for a while. Clara could push her buttons really well and test her patience.

...

It took them an hour and fifty minutes to reach the Peacock Inn. The night was almost becoming midnight as they reached their destination safely. While they were on the road, Deshawn was very friendly and joined most of Clara’s conversations, even giving her tips on how to win over a cold man from experience.

Liam even gave him tips on driving the car, which surprised Deshawn a lot. With his thirty years of driving experience, he could instantly understand Liam was not bullshitting. On the contrary, he was a very skilled person.

"I feel bad charging you guys."

"Don’t worry about it, and keep this."

Liam saw the total bill was $373, so he handed him $25 as a tip and didn’t look back. This Deshawn was just too grateful for nothing; Liam was just having fun. Turning around, he saw a huge mansion-like place, the plaque saying ’Peacock Inn’.

"This place, is this a hotel?"

Clara looked at the mansion-like place surrounded by trees and asked. Liam nodded his head and gestured for the girls to roll one suitcase in while he rolled another.

"Welcome to Peacock Inn, Sir."

A waitress greeted them as soon as they entered the Inn. Liam nodded his head. In his last life, staying in this place was a dream for many students. Freshmen always wanted to have sex here in this Inn.

"Wow, it looks luxurious inside, must be expensive, right?"

"Clara, let me do the talking. You’re tired after a day’s journey, so keep calm."

Hearing Clara’s nonstop chatter, Liam finally turned around and, with a smile on his face, told Clara to shut up. Then, leaving the girls, he went to the reception, while Megan took a long breath of relief.

"Sir, you’re here for lodging, I presume. We have two rooms available currently."

The receptionist stood up seeing Liam and smiled professionally. Liam nodded his head. In his last life, when he earned enough to stay in a place like this, he was already out of Princeton and was working hard on his career, but now he could stay here as a freshman.

This boutique-like hotel still feels exquisite.
