[Location: Commuter Line / Cemetery, East Java]
[Time: Day - 29 / 01:15 PM]
[Temperature: 39°C]
The journey outside was a torment. The afternoon sun beat down on the concrete. The asphalt shimmered, radiating waves of heat that made the horizon warp.
Arlen sat crammed in the corner of a commuter train. The air conditioning unit above him wheezed, blowing warm air smelling of diesel and sweat.
He wiped his forehead, clutching his canvas backpack. Inside lay the five keys to his universe.
He planted the clues with precision.
The first ziplock bag, containing *Page 4: The Alchemist's Furnace*, went behind a vending machine at a train station. He knelt down, sliding the paper out of sight.
He dropped the second clue, *Page 2: The Bestiary*, under a park bench where he stopped to eat his peanut butter sandwich. The remaining three pages went to random transit hubs and rural rest stops.

By the time Arlen reached the cemetery, the sun had begun to sink, bleeding an orange light across the sky.
The graveyard was silent, isolated from the noise of the capital. He walked through the overgrown grass. His legs ached from the commute across the province. His cheap sneakers offered no protection against the gravel beneath his feet. He stopped before two weathered tombstones resting under the shade of a dying frangipani tree.
The mask of 'The Architect' dissolved into the humid air.
Arlen let out a breath, his shoulders slumping. He dropped to his knees. The gravel dug into his skin through his jeans, but he ignored it. He reached out with his calloused hands and pulled the weeds choking the base of the headstones. His fingers scraped against the stone, gathering dirt under his nails.
He unzipped his backpack and pulled out a bouquet of wilting flowers. He had bought them with the last coins in his pocket, prioritizing this tribute over a bottle of water. He laid them on the dry earth.
"Hey, Mom, Dad,"
Arlen whispered, his voice cracking.
He leaned forward, tracing the engraved letters of their names on the stone. As the dust coated his fingertips, the heat of Jakarta faded from his mind, replaced by a chill that haunted him for years.
"I'm doing ... okay. I'm surviving,"
Arlen choked out.
He let out a weak laugh.
"I think I finally wrote something that people like. It's ... it's a bit weird. They act like I'm a cult leader. They treat every word I type like scripture."
He leaned forward, pressing his forehead against the warm stone. In the shadow of his parents' grave, the illusion of his power broke.
"I kinda like it when I'm the one in control. But sometimes, I feel tired tired. I'm tired of lying and wearing this mask,"
Arlen confessed, the truth bleeding out of him.
He closed his eyes. A tear cut a line through the dirt on his cheek.
"You know why I wrote about these freeze?"
He murmured, his voice dropping to a whisper.
"Because since the day you both left ... my world stopped. Everything felt cold and dead. The Black Snow, the Long Night ... that is exactly what it feels like living in this city without you. I took my grief and weaponized it on paper."
He took a breath, wiping his face with the back of his sleeve.
"But readers are readers, right? If this works ... if this lie actually sells ... i won't have to wash cars anymore. I can prove that your faith in my writing wasn't wasted. Please, let this work. I cannot afford to fail."
He stayed there for a long time, letting the peace of the dead soothe his mind. For an hour, he forgot about the book launch, the unpaid bills, and the heat.
As the sky darkened into purple, a gust of evening wind swept through the graveyard. It carried the dusty reality of the city. A rumble from his stomach broke his peace.
The reality of his poverty tapped him on the shoulder.
Arlen sniffled, his expression hardening as he pushed himself off the ground. His joints popped in protest. He looked at the road ahead leading back to the station. He had a bus ride back to his reality. It was time to put the mask of The Architect back on.

[Time remaining until the Great Freeze: 29 Days]
[Location: Arlen’s Apartment]
[Time: Day - 29 / 08:00 PM]
By the time Arlen unlocked the plywood door of his apartment, his body throbbed with exhaustion. His clothes were stiff with sweat, and his stomach roared with hunger.
He dropped his backpack, marched to his desk, and woke up his monitor.
He opened the proxy terminal for the Information Club. It was time to announce the drop.
> [The Architect]: Five fragments of truth have been scattered across the burning earth. Only the worthy shall inherit the knowledge of the future. Seek, and you shall lead. <
He hit send.
Arlen leaned back, cracking his stiff neck. He figured it would take the members at least a week to track down the coordinates and find the plastic bags.
He was wrong.
Within six hours, the chat group erupted into chaos. The notification chimes fired off like a machine gun.
> [System Message]: User [Seraph] has uploaded an encrypted packet. <
> [System Message]: User [Viper] has uploaded an encrypted packet. <
> [System Message]: User [FrostBite] has uploaded an encrypted packet. <
Arlen blinked, leaning closer to the monitor.
"No way. Are they all living in the exact same island? Did they hire private couriers or what? That is insane."
Three members had already recovered the physical papers. The next two notifications brought a twist.
> [System Message]: New User [Apothecary] has joined the sanctuary via an isolated cryptographic token. <
> [System Message]: New User [Tank] has joined the sanctuary via an isolated cryptographic token. <
Arlen stared at the screen. Two strangers, people with zero prior connection to his ARG, had stumbled upon the remaining clues. Out of luck, they scanned the QR codes and bypassed the selection process, dropping into the inner circle.
The existing members swarmed them like a pack of wolves cornering a foreign scent.
> [User: Viper]: Hold your positions. Who are you two? <
> [User: Viper]: Those entry tokens were encrypted for a reason. You should not possess access to this server unless you physically recovered the Architect's fragments. Explain yourselves immediately. <
> [User: Tank]: Whoa, easy there, man. I just found this weird paper sealed in a plastic bag under a park bench while I was walking my dog. It has a creepy drawing of a rat covered in rocks or something. Is this some kind of sick prank? <
> [User: FrostBite]: The cryptographic tokens are not pranks. They are single-use, dynamically generated gateways engineered by the Architect. If you are standing in this lobby, the algorithm chose you. <
> [User: Tank]: Algorithm? Gateways? You guys are weird. Look, do you want the paper back or not? I'm about to throw it in the trash, my dog is getting restless. <
> [User: Seraph]: *Gasps.* Throw it in the trash? Oh, you poor, blind creature. <
> [User: Seraph]: Viper, sheath your fangs. You are frightening the lost lambs. @Tank, please, I beg of you, do not discard it. That paper holds more value than your own life. It is a direct whisper from the Oracle. <
> [User: Apothecary]: Um, hi? I'm going to have to agree with the 'Tank' guy on this. I found a paper too, but mine is ... a soup recipe? <
> [User: Apothecary]: It was taped behind a vending machine near the station. "Vitality Stew". But the ingredient ratios are bizarre. It is specific about the thermodynamic reaction of sodium ions. Is this an extreme cooking club? Or a LARP group? <
> [User: Viper]: It is not a cooking club. It is a roadmap to survival. <
> [User: Viper]: If The Architect placed that formula in your hands, then it is critical. Upload the data payloads immediately. We need to complete the sequence. <
> [User: Tank]: Fine, fine. Here's a scan of the rat drawing and the code. Just don't hack my phone. <
> [System Message]: User [Tank] has uploaded Data Payload: Page 2. <
> [User: Apothecary]: Here is the soup. Honestly, looking closer at the chemical composition ... it's actually intriguing. <
> [System Message]: User [Apothecary] has uploaded Data Payload: Page 4. <
Arlen sat eating a dry cracker, watching as the group dynamics shifted. The hostility evaporated, replaced by a focused analysis as FrostBite initiated the extraction of the five QR codes.
On the other side of the city, inside a server room, FrostBite watched his monitors explode with data. His master database swallowed encrypted .txt files containing tens of thousands of words.
> [User: FrostBite]: Extraction complete. The master dataset is retrieved. Initiating structural analysis... <
> [User: FrostBite]: ...Holy shit. <
> [User: Viper]: Report, FrostBite. What did He give us? <
> [User: FrostBite]: The sheer depth of this data ... Dev, are you seeing this? The atmospheric prediction models in The Chronos Log. The mechanics ... All of it ware flawless. He mapped the exact astrophysics of the collapse. <
> [User: Viper]: I am reading the Evolution Catalyst file. This is classified bio-hacking. The cellular hypoxia triggers ... the precise mitochondrial overdrive sequences. It's a functional schematic for biological warfare. <
> [User: Apothecary]: I am running a simulation on the 'Vitality Stew' thermodynamics. The way he spliced the alkaloid reactions with the specific sodium isotopes breaches conventional chemistry, but theoretically ... it creates a sustained exothermic loop. This is genius. <
> [User: Seraph]: It is the Scripture. It is the truth, laid bare for us to study. <
> [User: Seraph]: Five fragments. Five fingers to form a fist. Five pillars to hold the weight of the sky. <
> [User: Seraph]: It is no coincidence that these two foreign souls found them. The Architect guided their steps through the chaos. <
> [User: Tank]: Uh, pretty sure my dog just really needed to pee. That's what guided my steps. <
> [User: Seraph]: Silence, non-believer. You have been Chosen, whether your fragile mind can comprehend the gravity of it or not. <
The chat went dead.
The tension vibrating through the terminal was palpable. Even Tank stopped his typing.
They were waiting for a verdict. They were waiting for their Architect.
Arlen swallowed the dry cracker, a smile breaking across his face.
"They are actually buying it."
Arlen laughed, the sound echoing in his apartment.
"FrostBite is praising my fictional physics, Apothecary thinks my fake soup recipe is a scientific breakthrough, and Viper thinks my fantasy power system is real military bio-hacking. This is the greatest roleplay community on the internet."
He cracked his knuckles. If they wanted a hierarchy to keep them engaged until the novel dropped, he would provide it happily.
He shifted into the persona of The Architect.
> [The Architect]: Fate does not make mistakes. You five have held the raw truth in your hands. You have glimpsed the blueprints of the apocalypse. <
> [The Architect]: From this moment forth, you are The Pillars. Stand firm, and guide the flock when the sky shatters. <
The reaction was a wave of devotion.
> [User: Viper]: Understood, Sovereign. I assume command of our defensive perimeter. We will not let you down. <
> [User: Seraph]: Your will is my breath, Architect. I shall be the holy foundation upon which your new world is built. I accept this burden with my life. <
> [User: FrostBite]: Protocol acknowledged. Updating security clearances: Pillar Status granted. Initiating lockdown on the main archive. <
> [User: Apothecary]: ...Okay then. I suppose I am a 'Pillar' now? I will begin synthesizing this exothermic compound in my laboratory tonight. For science. <
> [User: Tank]: This is officially the weirdest internet forum I have ever visited. But ... uh ... thanks? I guess? <
Arlen burst into laughter.
He closed the lid of his laptop with a click.
"Man, Tank is so confused, but he is way too polite to just leave the group. I love this community."
He stood up, turning off the lights in his apartment. He threw himself onto his mattress, exhausted but feeling a sense of accomplishment. The ARG was a success. The lore was seeded.
Arlen went to sleep with a smile, unaware of the consequences his words had just unleashed upon the real world.
