Over the weekend, Si Ruohan didn’t go anywhere. He stayed home to keep Pei Xi company. Even when his friends invited him out for drinks, he turned them all down.

Taking advantage of being home, he had several brands of pregnancy-safe cosmetics delivered, letting Pei Xi choose whichever scent she liked.

On top of that, he transferred a large sum of money to her account and handed her his black card, telling her to buy whatever she wanted in the future.Full novel: What Should I Do After Getting Pregnant with the Second Male Lead’s Child? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Pei Xi stared at the black card in her hand. This was the first time in both her lifetimes that she’d ever seen one.

“You’re not afraid I’ll spend recklessly and empty your account?” she asked.

He shook his head.

“Go ahead and swipe. My money is your money. Your husband can afford to support you.”

When the new week began, Si Ruohan had to return to work.

Early that morning, when he woke up, he inevitably woke Pei Xi too.

She pushed him, grumbling, “You’re the one going to work. I don’t have to. Why wake me up?”

He had been rubbing and kneading her lazily, making it impossible for her to fall back asleep.

He stole a kiss from her lips and coaxed softly, “Xixi, come to work with me today, okay? There’s a lounge in my office—you can continue sleeping there.”

She frowned. “Can’t I just sleep at home?”

Why did she have to go to his office? Wasn’t that unnecessary?

“You still need to get up for breakfast. You can’t sleep if you’re hungry, right? Since you’re already up, just come with me today. Otherwise, if someone asks, you won’t even know where your husband’s company is.”

She pouted. “You can just tell me the address. I’ll write it down. Maybe next time. I’ll visit when I actually feel like it.”

Her little mouth was infuriatingly sharp. He silenced it with a kiss, only letting her go when she was breathless.

“Come with me. Once we get there, I’ll give you a gift.”

She had been ready to scold him but the word “gift” immediately caught her attention.

“Really? What gift?”

It better not be something like making her his secretary. She was pregnant—no way was she working!

He helped her sit up.

“It’s a secret for now. You’ll see when we arrive. Hurry and get ready. I have a meeting this morning.”

Knowing there was a gift involved, her attitude instantly turned cooperative. Whatever it was, she’d be the one benefiting.

Since she was going to his workplace, she chose a black slip dress with a gray blazer. The colors matched his suit surprisingly well, almost like a couple’s outfit.

After breakfast, he informed Liu Ma that they wouldn’t be home for lunch, then left with Pei Xi.

All the way there, she tried subtly probing him about the gift, but his lips were sealed.

She hadn’t realized how large his company was until he drove into the underground parking garage of a towering building. On the façade above, she’d glimpsed a massive logo: Tengxing Technology.

Her classmates used to talk about this company—good pay, excellent benefits.

So this was his company?

Her sense of the gap between them deepened. No wonder he could afford an expensive villa, prepare so many things for her, and give her a supplementary card to spend freely.

He truly was a real tycoon.

He unbuckled his seatbelt with a smile. “It’s yours now too. Don’t forget you’re the boss’s wife.”

He stepped out first, walked around to open her door, and led her straight up in the elevator.

Employees were bustling about, preparing for the morning meeting.

When the elevator doors opened, footsteps echoed. Heads lifted in unison—and they saw their CEO walking in, holding hands with a stunning young woman.

The secretarial department was stunned.

They hadn’t seen him for two days, and now he had a girlfriend?

No—wait—

“Good morning, President.”

“Good morning, President.”

He nodded in response, his mood clearly pleasant.

“Good morning. This is my wife, Pei Xi. I brought her to meet everyone.”

Wife?

Had they misheard?

Before anyone could process the bombshell, he led her into his office.

Inside, she tugged at his sleeve.

“Why did you introduce me like that? Aren’t you afraid your family will find out? Didn’t we agree not to make it public?”

He patted her hand reassuringly.

“My parents rarely come to this office. They won’t know.”

She had no choice but to trust him.

“Alright. I came with you. Where’s my gift? You’ve been dangling it in front of me all morning.”

“Just a moment.”

He made a call. Soon, a young man in glasses entered.

“President, here are the documents you requested.”

“This is my assistant, Lin Feng,” Si Ruohan said. “If anything happens and I’m not around, you can ask him for help.”

“Madam,” Lin Feng greeted respectfully.

Pei Xi nodded back politely.

“Lin Feng is the only one here who knows your true identity,” Si Ruohan added. “Come take a look. This is your gift.”

He handed her the documents.

She flipped through them—and her eyes widened.

It was a share transfer agreement. And a real estate transfer.

“These are for me? That’s too much!”

She immediately pushed them back.

After sending Lin Feng out, she frowned.

“This isn’t a joke. How can you just give me something so valuable? And it’s listed as an unconditional gift. I’m already content—you don’t need to do this.”

He pulled her onto his lap and wrapped an arm around her.

“It’s not much. Just 5% of the company shares. And the villa we’re living in. I want you to feel more at ease there. More secure.”

Five percent of such a large company wasn’t “not much.”

Her eyes turned red.

“You fool. What if I take everything and run? Do we even know each other that well? You’re being this generousdoes your family know how reckless you are?”

He laughed openly.

“You’re not just anyone. You’re the mother of my child. My wife. The person I’ll spend my life with. I’m giving this to youjust accept it. Think of it as savings for our child.”

He placed a pen in her hand.

She hesitated. “Do I really have to sign?”

“Yes. You can’t refuse.”

She had never imagined money could be forced upon her like this.

In the end, she pushed one document aside and only signed the real estate transfer.

“I don’t want the shares. Take them back. The house is enough.”

She handed him the signed paper.

“You’re the CEO. You can’t just give away company shares. If you don’t take it back, I won’t talk to you anymore. And neither will the baby.”

Seeing her genuinely upset, he relented.

“Alright, alright. I’ll take it back. Don’t be angry—careful, or the baby will be upset too. Now that it’s settled, want something to drink? Or do you want to rest?”

“I’m not sleepy, thirsty, or hungry. Go work. I’ll sit on the sofa and scroll on my phone.”

Still, he instructed his assistant to bring her snacks and drinks before heading off to his meeting, only leaving once he was sure she was comfortable.
