The woman was named Yang Tian. She had already been through two games before this one.

Her actual abilities were poor. The only reason she had survived the previous two games was because she relied on her looks to attach herself to the strongest players and use them as protection.

In the last game, it was precisely because she latched onto Sun Heng that she made it out alive.Full novel: What to Do When You’re Targeted by a Yandere Evil God [Infinite] — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

This time, she was matched into the same game as Sun Heng again. Yang Tian had originally felt lucky, thinking she wouldn’t need to submit herself to other men anymore.

But now it seemed that Sun Heng’s interest in Luo Yu was even greater than his interest in her.

Escape games were extremely dangerous.

Even a veteran player like Sun Heng couldn’t possibly save people without limits or hesitation.

In many situations, he could save one person but not the other.

So when danger arose, Yang Tian had to make sure she was the one Sun Heng chose to save.

Seen this way, wasn’t Luo Yu a massive obstacle and threat to her?

Watching Sun Heng show special care toward Luo Yu made Yang Tian grind her teeth with hatred.

Beautiful women like her were always extremely wary of their own kind.

Luo Yu wasn’t bad-looking at all. Her features were delicate, her figure well-proportioned, her black hair falling to her waist. When she spoke, her voice was gentle, and when she smiled, there seemed to be a faint shimmer in her eyes.

Because of that, Yang Tian had noticed her from the very beginning.

Even before the players gathered together, Yang Tian had already seen the small commotion Luo Yu caused at the service window.

That only further convinced Yang Tian that Luo Yu was just like her, trying to rely on her appearance and attach herself to others in order to survive the escape game.

At the time, Yang Tian had even secretly rejoiced that Luo Yu had chosen the wrong target.

A dinner window NPC.

Hah. Setting aside the fact that NPCs in escape games were naturally hostile toward players and rarely formed positive relationships with them—

Who knew whether an NPC who looked normal on the surface was actually a monster wearing human skin? One careless step, and the death conditions would be triggered, getting the player killed by the monster.

In the end, Luo Yu had actually chosen a dinner window NPC. These kinds of NPCs were usually cannon fodder anyway. What use could they possibly be?

Anyone could guess that in an escape game set in a school, the mastermind behind the scenes would definitely be someone at the level of the principal or teachers. At worst, maybe a head of security or something similar.

Yang Tian would never try to latch onto those NPCs.

This was an escape game, not a dating game. NPCs were dangerous. Rather than wasting effort on NPCs, it was far better to firmly grasp a powerful veteran player who could protect her.

What Yang Tian hadn’t expected was that Luo Yu not only flirted with NPCs, but in the blink of an eye, even managed to attract Sun Heng’s attention.

Pretending to look obedient, pure, and innocent, just to stir up a man’s protective instincts.

Hmph. Don’t think that makes you better than her.

Leaning against Sun Heng, Yang Tian giggled softly while thinking venomously to herself: It’s fine. Luo Yu is just a pure newcomer. She won’t survive more than a few days.

And even if she somehow doesn’t trigger a death condition…

Heh, just wait and see.

On the other side, in the Grade Three Class D classroom.

Luo Yu had no idea that she had already become a thorn in Yang Tian’s eye and flesh. She was currently struggling through her evening self-study session.

The teacher supervising evening self-study happened to be the same female teacher who had targeted her during the day.

That targeting not only failed to lessen at night, it intensified.

The ferocious-eyed female teacher seemed to be watching only her.

Any time Luo Yu’s eyes weren’t on her exercise book, or she spaced out for even a moment, the teacher would immediately shout at her, condemning her as a bad student who didn’t care about studying.

Luo Yu could clearly feel her image within the class deteriorating further.

This was not a good sign.

If the entire class began to view her with hostility and exclude her, her situation would definitely become extremely dangerous.

Did the secret of Qinggang High School have something to do with this strange atmosphere?

As she pondered, Luo Yu inevitably became distracted again.

“Luo Yu, I caught you again!” the female teacher roared. This time, her volume was louder than ever before.

Luo Yu jolted and looked up. When she clearly saw the teacher’s face, cold sweat instantly broke out all over her body.

She saw the teacher smiling.

At some point, the teacher’s eyes had turned into two pitch-black hollows. She grinned widely, revealing sharp teeth and a crimson tongue.

“Luo Yu, since you can’t focus on studying no matter what, I’ll have to ask you to take a trip to the office with me.”

The female teacher murmured in a gloomy, eerie voice.

That voice seemed to carry some kind of special power. Luo Yu found that her limbs were no longer under her control. Instead, just as the teacher said, they were about to make her stand up and follow her to the office.

Luo Yu instinctively knew that if she went to the office, she might never come back out. She used every ounce of strength to resist, but the effect was minimal.

Her legs were about to stand up on their own.

The corners of the teacher’s gaping mouth seemed to stretch even farther to the sides.

Was the monster already unable to wait?

In the classroom, the other students all had their heads down, fully focused on studying. No one noticed that their teacher had already turned into a monster.

The sense of dissonance made Luo Yu’s head spin.

In that instant, she felt an intense sensation of being watched. The gaze wasn’t coming only from the monster’s hollow eyes.

It was coming from above her head.

There was more than one monster targeting her.

This realization made Luo Yu’s heart sink even further. The monster disguised as the teacher seemed to need her to go to the office before it could act. But what about the monster above her?

She could feel it clearly. The pressure from above was stronger than the pressure coming from the front of the classroom, far stronger.

What kind of monster was up there?

She didn’t remember provoking anyone during the time she’d been in the classroom.

With great effort, Luo Yu lifted her head and looked toward the ceiling. In that instant, her gaze actually passed straight through the thick ceiling and locked onto the pitch-black sky above the teaching building.

And embedded within that sky was a pair of crimson pupils.

The moment their eyes met, Luo Yu felt a burning pain sear through her own eyes. She hurriedly shut them, but those red pupils seemed to imprint themselves deep into her mind, impossible to shake.

She didn’t know how much time passed. Maybe a few seconds, or maybe several minutes.

At last, the blood-red eyes in the sky withdrew. The immense pressure dissipated along with them. Luo Yu’s whole body relaxed, and she collapsed back into her seat.

What shocked her was that the monster in the classroom didn’t continue to attack her.

The monster reverted to the appearance of the female teacher, standing at the podium. Looking closely, she even seemed to be trembling slightly, as if afraid of something.

Luo Yu was completely unable to make sense of what had just happened.

For the rest of the time, the monster didn’t pick on her again.

It wasn’t until the bell rang to end evening self-study and Luo Yu was swept along with the mass of students toward the dormitory building that she vaguely grasped something.

The monster disguised as the teacher was likely afraid of the crimson pupils in the sky.

What exactly were those red pupils?

Did they have something to do with the secret of Qinggang High School?

Why had they appeared at such a perfectly timed moment?

Could it be… that they had been saving her?
