“Then please introduce yourself, little girl.”

The yandere evil god smiled as He tempted her, like a venomous snake with beautiful patterns luring an innocent young girl. Yet there was no emotion in His eyes at all.

With the warmest tone, He spoke to her, while coldly and mercilessly controlling her, forcing her step by step into the rotting, deathly swamp.Full novel: What to Do When You’re Targeted by a Yandere Evil God [Infinite] — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Before Him, Luo Yu seemed to have lost her soul.

She could neither control her body nor her words.

“My name is Luo Yu. I’m a player. I don’t remember anything from before I came here. I want to live. To survive, I need to uncover the secret of Qinggang High School, or survive here for seven days.”

Luo Yu revealed the most crucial information about players without holding anything back.

After she finished speaking, her back was already soaked with cold sweat.

Luo Yu knew that exposing the existence of the escape game in front of an NPC could lead to punishment by the game, or even her direct erasure.

She was not foolish enough to gamble with her own life.

If she could have concealed the truth or spoken vaguely, she would have done so long ago.

However, the man before her was using an overwhelming force to control her, leaving her completely unable to fabricate a lie.

In other words, in front of this man, she was entirely transparent.

Whatever the man wanted to know, as long as he asked, she had no choice but to answer in full detail.

“Uncover the secret of Qinggang High School, or survive seven days. Are those the necessary conditions for you to stay alive?”

Luo Yu stiffly nodded. “Yes.”

As she answered, she continued sinking into the swamp. Without realizing it, the mire had already swallowed her ankles and reached her calves.

Though panic filled her heart, her body moved at an unhurried pace, almost as if she were offering herself in sacrifice.

“Do you want to obtain the secret of Qinggang High School from me?” the man asked again, tilting his head and glancing at Luo Yu’s blank expression under his influence.

He had already expected an affirmative answer.

Most players approached Him for the same reasons: to obtain key information from Him, or to seek His protection.

But how could one take it without paying a price?

The god understood human cunning all too well. Possessing absolute suppressive power, He would occasionally indulge Himself by playing with these crafty ants.

He could crush them at any time, entirely depending on His mood.

Now, as long as Luo Yu nodded and said yes, the evil god would immediately lose interest in her. He would generously tell her the secret of Qinggang High School, and then, at the instant of her ecstatic joy, take her life.

Yet a brief moment of confusion flashed across the girl’s face.

Bound to answer truthfully, she was unexpectedly stumped by this question.

Luo Yu had never considered that the man before her might know the secret of Qinggang High School. If just any NPC knew it, the escape game would not need to exist at all.

She had approached him purely because of his looks.

As for whether she wanted to obtain the secret of Qinggang High School from him, she had never thought about it. Not at all.

It was a question with no answer, yet she still had to respond.

Luo Yu parted her lips and instead asked a question of her own. “Do you know the secret of Qinggang High School?”

…

No one answered her. In the silence, the faint sounds of insects echoed through the forest.

The man raised one eyebrow.

In the darkness, his face appeared even more bewitching, like a ghost.

Luo Yu’s calves were completely submerged, the soft, wet mud steadily advancing toward her knees.

The cold seeped in, and her thoughts began to drift.

He really is beautiful, Luo Yu thought.

At the very least, dying at the hands of someone like this was far better than being killed by some hideous monster.

“I can protect you,” the man suddenly said. “The school is dangerous, and it will only become more dangerous.”

“Someone like you…” He cast a pointed glance at Luo Yu’s slender, fragile body. “Someone like you definitely wouldn’t last three days.”

“No.” He shook his head. “Maybe not even one.”

The man suddenly raised a hand, signaling her to be quiet. “Listen carefully.”

In the vast night, several long, eerie wolf howls rang out. Luo Yu’s face turned pale.

The swamp had already reached her thighs. Trapped within it, every movement of her legs became extremely difficult.

Yet despite this, she could still feel her body struggling forward with all its strength, struggling toward a grave.

The culprit behind all of this smiled as he asked her whether she wanted to accept his protection.

Luo Yu almost laughed in anger, but when she looked at the man’s refined features and sharply defined face, most of that anger dissipated.

Fine, she admitted it.

She was a hopeless first person. Completely spineless.

So spineless that even if this beautiful man intended to kill her, she could not summon even the slightest hatred toward that peerless face.

Damn it, if only she could close her eyes.

While silently berating herself, Luo Yu continued to stare straight at him.

It made her look almost yearning, almost obsessed.

Caught!

The smile at the man’s lips deepened. Moonlight spilled over him, casting a layer of holy radiance across his face.

Who could have imagined that in his pitch-black pupils, malicious light was flickering. Compared to a god, he looked more like a terrifying demon.

Then again, He was a yandere evil god to begin with.

The evil god whispered seductively, “Accept my protection. I only need your soul.”

If Luo Yu accepted, she would be transformed into a part of Qinggang High School, her soul trapped in this world forever, endlessly repeating the same painful existence.

The evil god was eager.

Eager to witness the ugliness humans revealed when they realized they had been deceived, a spectacle He could never tire of appreciating.

Luo Yu’s lashes trembled. Then she slowly, gently shook her head.

“No.” She refused his protection.

The reason was simple. How could she possibly trust someone who had so mercilessly buried her in the swamp?

Even though her consciousness was fading, she could still reason that much.

But it was so cold, and breathing felt a little…

The smile vanished from the man’s face.

He stared at Luo Yu coldly, saying nothing, as though deep in thought.

Clearly, all of his assumptions about her had fallen apart. How interesting humans were.

To think one could disguise oneself to such an extent.

But this was as far as it went.

“Why did you approach me? What was your purpose?”

No one could lie to a god.

He was already prepared to hear the most truthful answer imaginable, one filled with humanity’s base instincts, mixed with fear, disgust, and greed.

Come, let Him hear it.

Luo Yu staggered forward. The swamp had reached her waist, damp and freezing, teeming beneath the rotting leaves with microorganisms and disease.

Her lips were as pale as bone. She seemed close to death.

At the same time, the distance between her and the man had closed even further.

It seemed that with a single reach, she could touch him.

Luo Yu shakily raised her arm.

A crystal-clear tear slid from the corner of her eye. At that moment, she looked exactly like a devout believer, willing to offer everything to her god.

“Because I…” Her voice was as light as a wandering soul. “I really like…”

Your face.
