“Kuch ghar chhodne ke liye nahi hote…
bas ek din unse door rehna padta hai.”
🌸
Mira’s mornings always started the same way.
Not with alarms.
Not with rushing.
But with chai.
She walked out of her room, still sleepy, tying her hair lazily.
Her father was already sitting there.
The moment he saw her, he smiled.
Father: “Uth gayi?
Aaj suraj kaha se ug gaya?”
Mira: “Papa… please.”
Father (laughing): “Sach bol raha hoon… itni jaldi uth gayi?
Kya baat hai.”
A cup of chai was already waiting.
She picked it up.
Took a sip.
Perfect.
Her brothers walked in.
Brother 1: “Ohooo, madam uth gayi!”
Brother 2: “Aaj toh kuch special lag raha hai.”
Mira: “Tum dono chup reh sakte ho?”
Brother 1: “Nahi.”
They laughed.
Her sister-in-law placed breakfast.
Sister-in-law: “Tu aaram se kha… main aur bana deti hoon.”
Mira: “Haan bhabhi…”
Everything felt normal.
Simple.
Complete.
Mira looked around.
This was her world.
Her father— who joked like a friend but cared like everything depended on her.
Her brothers— who never let silence stay in the house.
Her sister-in-law— who held everything together quietly.
She didn’t need anything more.
This was enough.
After breakfast— she picked up her phone.
There was a mail.
She opened it.
Read it.
Then read it again.
Her expression didn’t change.
But something inside her did.
She locked her phone.
And left for office.
💼 Office
The whole day— she couldn’t focus.
Screen open tha.
Work open tha.
But dimaag— kahin aur.
“Seoul…”
Word baar baar dimaag me aa raha tha.
Tabhi— her manager called her.
Manager: “Mira, can you come for a minute?”
She nodded.
Went inside.
Manager (smiling):
“Congratulations, Mira.
You earned this.”
She gave a small nod.
Manager:
“Humein pata hai shift easy nahi hota… but this is a big step.”
Phir unhone calmly explain kiya—
“Company accommodation arrange karegi…”
“Initial days ke liye support rahega…”
“Team waha tumhe guide karegi…”
Phir ek pause.
Manager (softly):
“But final decision tumhara hai.”
“Tum comfortable ho toh hi proceed karenge.”
Mira chup rahi.
She didn’t say yes.
Didn’t say no.
Sirf suna.
Meeting ke baad— office me logon ko pata chal gaya.
Colleague 1: “Hey Mira!
Congratulations!”
Colleague 2: “Ab toh Korea jaa rahi hai tu!”
Colleague 3: “Hume bhool mat jaana!”
She smiled.
“Thanks…”
But andar— sab kuch normal nahi tha.
Har congratulations ke saath— ek question aa raha tha.
“Kya main sach me jaungi?”
🌙 Evening — Dinner Time
Dinner time was always the same.
Everyone together.
Talking.
Laughing.
But today—
Mira was quiet.
Her father noticed.
Father: “Kya hua?”
No answer.
He leaned slightly forward.
Father: “Kisine kuch kaha kya?”
Now everyone stopped.
Mira took a small breath.
Mira: “Mujhe… transfer mila hai.”
A pause.
Mira: “Abroad.”
Silence.
Father: “Kahan?”
Mira: “…Seoul.”
Brother 1: “Matlab Korea?”
Brother 2: “Tu jayegi?”
Mira shook her head slightly.
Mira: “Choice hai… par…”
She hesitated.
Mira (softly): “Main nahi jaana chahti…”
Her sister-in-law held her hand.
Sister-in-law: “Par Mira… it’s a big opportunity…”
Her father finally spoke.
Father: “Jaana chahiye.”
Mira looked up.
Mira: “Par papa—”
Father: “Opportunity hai.”
A pause.
Father (softly):
“Mehnat se mila hai.”
He looked at her.
Father: “Hum yahin hai.”
That was it.
Simple.
But enough.
Mira didn’t reply.
She just understood.
He wasn’t sending her away.
He was trusting her.
But even the calmest worlds… don’t stay the same forever.
