The car stopped in front of another building.

Mira stepped out and looked up.

More crowded.

More… lived in.

“This looks more like it…”

The staff walked ahead.

“This is the company accommodation.”

Mira nodded.

“Okay.”

Inside, the difference was immediate.

Voices.

Movement.

Doors opening and closing.

People passing by.

It felt normal.

More real.

Mira relaxed slightly.

“Yeh thoda familiar lag raha hai…”

They reached the apartment.

The staff unlocked the door.

“This is your apartment.”

Mira stepped inside.

And paused.

The space was decent—but not as clean as she expected.

Some things were misplaced.

A faint smell lingered.

The kitchen looked slightly used.

Nothing extreme.

But not comfortable either.

She didn’t say anything.

Just observed.

“Yahan rehna… comfortable nahi hoga…”

The staff walked around, checking.

He paused.

Looked again.

Then stepped aside and made a call.

“Yes, sir… I checked.”

A pause.

“I don’t think it’s suitable.”

Mira quietly looked away.

Pretending not to listen.

After a few seconds, he came back.

“It won’t be comfortable to stay here.”

Mira hesitated.

“It’s okay… I can manage for a few days—”

But he shook his head.

“No, it’s better not to.”

A pause.

“We’ll arrange another place.”

Mira nodded slowly.

“Okay…”

They stepped out again.

The noise returned.

People.

Voices.

Movement.

But Mira felt unsettled.

She sat in the car quietly.

Then leaned back.

“Kya yaar… kaisa matlab… itna achha din ja raha tha…”

“Aur yeh ghar bhi matlab aisa nikal gaya…”

“Pata nahi aage jaake kya hoga…”

She closed her eyes for a moment.

Not frustrated— just… tired.

The car didn’t return to the hotel.

Instead, it took a different turn.

Mira noticed.

“Ab kaha le ja rahe hai…”

The city outside slowly changed.

Less crowded.

More silent.

The surroundings felt more private.

After a few minutes, the car stopped again.

Mira stepped out.

And looked up.

This building was completely different.

Modern.

Calm.

Almost… untouched.

There were noticeable security guards quietly stationed around the entrance.

That caught her attention.

“Yeh jagah… thodi alag hai…”

“This will be your temporary stay,” the staff said.

Mira nodded.

Inside, everything was quiet.

Too quiet.

No footsteps.

No voices.

Just silence.

The elevator opened to a long corridor.

Soft lights.

Closed doors.

Complete silence.

“Thoda ajeeb lag raha hai…”

The staff stopped at a door and handed her the key card.

“This is your apartment.”

Then added—

“If anyone asks you anything… just ignore.”

Mira frowned.

“I’m sorry… what do you mean?”

“It’s better that way.”

No explanation.

She didn’t ask again.

But the uneasiness stayed.

She opened the door.

And stepped inside.

And this time— she stood still.

The apartment was beautiful.

A spacious living area opened in front of her.

A soft grey sofa.

A clean wooden table.

Warm lighting that made the space feel calm.

A large window that brought in natural light.

She walked further.

The kitchen was modern.

Everything perfectly arranged.

Unused.

Clean.

The dining space was simple.

Minimal.

Elegant.

She moved toward the bedroom.

A neatly made bed.

White sheets.

Soft side lighting.

A wardrobe aligned perfectly.

No clutter.

No signs of anyone living there before.

“Yeh temporary stay ke liye thoda zyada hi perfect hai…”

Even the air felt fresh.

Controlled.

Almost untouched.

She walked back slowly.

Placed her bag down.

Looked around again.

This didn’t feel temporary.

It felt prepared.

For someone.

After a few minutes, Mira walked toward the balcony.

The glass door slid open softly.

Cold air brushed against her face.

She stepped outside.

The balcony was wide.

Spacious.

From the seventh floor, the view looked calm.

Snow rested lightly on the trees below.

Everything felt quiet.

Peaceful.

Mira placed her hands on the railing.

For the first time— she smiled.

Not forced.

Not careful.

Just real.

“Yeh jagah… sach me sundar hai…”

For a moment— she wasn’t thinking.

Just feeling.

Then— a slight movement caught her attention.

From the next balcony.

Someone was there.

Standing quietly.

Looking at the same view.

Mira didn’t turn fully.

But she noticed.

A calm presence.

For a second— she wondered if he noticed her.

Or maybe— he already had.

Mira looked away first.

Not uncomfortable— just aware.

But something about that moment stayed.

Quiet.

Unspoken.

Memorable.

Back inside, Mira closed the door slowly.

Her mind was still there.

In that balcony.

In that moment.

“Yeh jagah… normal nahi hai…”

She said softly.

And somewhere— without her realizing— something had already begun.

To be continued…

Everything looked perfect.

The kind of perfect that makes you stop questioning things.

But what if— that’s exactly where something begins?

Mira doesn’t know it yet… but this place, this silence, and that one moment— will change everything
