[Cultivation Level: 6th stage Spirit Condensation Realm]

[Fortune: -168 (Villains are rejected by the Heavenly Dao)]

[Constitution: Innate Sword Body]

Xu Linxiu rubbed his chin in thought after reading. Rejected by the Heavenly Dao for being a villain… so what? But this fortune value really was pitifully low.

He stood up, loosened his arms, then pushed open the door and stepped outside. It was time to clean up the aftermath of this incident.

…

Inside the Disciplinary Hall, a girl stood before an elder who had received Xu Linxiu’s message talisman. It was none other than Song Wanci, who had clashed earlier with Qin Feng.

At this moment, not only had the elder who received the message talisman arrived, but several other elders had also rushed over upon hearing the matter.

After all, in a large sect like theirs, this kind of issue was no small matter.

“What exactly happened today…” Xu Linxiu’s father also arrived and began to ask. These elders had only brought Song Wanci here—most likely…

Xu Linxiu’s father’s expression turned a bit unpleasant. He subconsciously touched his non-existent beard.

Song Wanci stood below with her head lowered, her expression hidden, saying nothing.

“Insolence!” the Third Elder suddenly shouted, standing and pointing at her. “We’re asking you a question! Are you staying silent because you falsely accused Qin Feng?”

Xu Linxiu’s father frowned and turned his head sharply, preparing to speak up in her defense.

Just then, someone arriving at the entrance drew the attention of all the elders.

“This is a restricted area of the Disciplinary Hall!” the Third Elder still tried to speak after recognizing who it was.

But Xu Linxiu raised his hand to cut him off, saying, “Stop, stop, stop. Third Elder, your mouth really stinks. I could smell it from way over there.”

Pinching his nose in disgust, Xu Linxiu looked toward the Third Elder, who was sitting with a darkened face not far away.

“Son, what are you doing here?” Xu Linxiu’s father, Xu Guoan, asked.

“Father, didn’t you know? I witnessed this matter tonight and reported it to the Disciplinary Hall,” Xu Linxiu replied with a smile.

Then his tone turned cold as he looked directly at the Third Elder, “Just now, didn’t you say that Song Wanci falsely accused Qin Feng? I’m the one who reported it. If it’s false, then I’m the one slandering him, right?”

“Fine then! Tomorrow I’ll go to the Disciplinary Cliff to accept punishment and publicly declare across the sect that the Third Elder says I slandered that… what’s-his-name Feng.”

Having said that, Xu Linxiu turned around and grabbed Song Wanci’s hand, leading her outside.

He clearly felt her resist slightly at first, but she quickly calmed down.

A woman walking toward them paused at the sight, visibly stunned. She turned her head to watch Xu Linxiu walking away with Song Wanci.

“Elder Yun Yan,” Xu Guoan greeted the newcomer upon seeing her.

The other elders also nodded in acknowledgment.

Yun Yan’s expression was icy as she looked at Xu Guoan, asking coldly, “That girl just now is my newly accepted disciple.”

“Your son sent me a message talisman saying someone harassed her!” Her gaze suddenly turned sharp, forcing others to back down instinctively.

“Uh…” The Third Elder wiped the sweat that wasn’t on his forehead.

It was just that during today’s sect grand competition, he saw some potential in Qin Feng and didn’t want any scandal tied to him, so he tried to protect him to make him his disciple.

Who would’ve thought it would involve this madwoman’s disciple!

Especially since Yun Yan was extremely protective. Last time, when one elder’s disciple clashed with hers over a single herb—even though Yun Yan technically had the stronger case—she still beat that elder severely and even destroyed his cave residence.

If you say she’s reasonable, she won’t touch the junior, but she’ll beat the elder behind them.

Xu Guoan stroked his nonexistent beard and snorted coldly, “Third Elder, I don’t want to say much. Go explain yourself to Elder Yun.”

The Third Elder, Lin Ming, forced a smile and braced himself, saying, “Elder Yun, I didn’t know Song Wanci was your disciple.”

“We’ll handle this properly. Those who need to be punished will be punished.”

Yun Yan wasn’t foolish. Seeing his reaction, she already had her suspicions.

“Great Elder, tell me what happened here just now,” she said calmly, her expression unchanged.

Xu Guoan ignored Lin Ming’s pleading eyes and again touched his nonexistent beard, speaking, “After receiving the message talisman, we were summoned. But no one knew the situation!”

“Qin Feng, who should’ve been here, didn’t show up. Only the victim, Song Wanci, was brought in. Then the Third Elder accused her of slandering Qin Feng.”

Lin Ming frowned but said nothing. Since the matter was already exposed, there was no use hiding it. He wasn’t truly afraid of Yun Yan anyway.

“So tell me then… why wasn’t Qin Feng brought in?” Yun Yan sat down on a chair, her expression still calm.

“Uh… here’s what happened,” the elder who had received Xu Linxiu’s message talisman stood up and explained. “I gathered a few elders and was preparing to bring both Qin Feng and Song Wanci in to understand the situation.”

“But then, the Third Elder said something was off and only instructed that the disciple who sent the message should bring Song Wanci alone.”

Yun Yan got what she wanted and nodded. She lowered her head, deep in thought, saying nothing.

The other elders simply sat quietly to watch the drama unfold. Only Lin Ming was strung so tightly he could barely breathe.

“Just now… the one who took Wanci away was your son?” Yun Yan lifted her head and asked Xu Guoan.

Xu Guoan’s mouth twitched subtly and nodded.

As expected of Yun Yan… always cultivating in her mountain, completely unaware of worldly matters.

But his son really had been keeping a low profile over the years…

So much so that even this lowly Third Elder dared to shout at him!

Xu Guoan turned to glance at Lin Ming not far away, recalling how Lin Ming had tried to stop Xu Linxiu from entering the Disciplinary Hall earlier, right in front of him.

“My new disciple doesn’t like to talk to people. She barely says two words to even me.”

“In fact… you could say she’s a little withdrawn,” Yun Yan said with a slight sigh.

Then her tone turned sharp, “So I don’t want to see anyone bullying my disciple again.”

“Alright, that’s all. I’ll be leaving now, everyone.”

As soon as the words fell, her figure flickered and vanished on the spot.

She obviously wouldn’t attack Lin Ming in front of the other elders. If someone stepped in to mediate, it would ruin the fun.

Lin Ming quickly took his leave as well—most likely to prepare for Yun Yan’s retaliation.

The elder in charge of the Disciplinary Hall immediately ordered someone to bring in Qin Feng and began an official investigation into the incident.
