Ye Jingxiao looked over the documents in his hand while Zhou Yi trembled beside him.

The woman who had taken Third Young Master’s virginity was proving awfully hard to find.Full novel: Why Mess with Her? She Has a Hundred Million Layers of Secret Identities—and She’s Unhinged! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Still no luck?”

“It was too dark, and the license plate wasn’t clear in the footage. But we’ve already checked the surveillance cameras along the route. We should have news soon.”

Ye Jingxiao furrowed his brow. “Find her. No matter what.”

That woman seemed to know her medicine, but she was far too irritating.

If it hadn’t been for her, that night he might have…

Most importantly, she seemed to have taken an embarrassing photo of him. He had to get it back at any cost.

“Third Young Master, there haven’t been any rumors online, so I expect she doesn’t dare tell anyone what happened between you.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Zhou Yi kept his head down. He had a feeling Third Young Master was about to kill him.

“That night, she was only treating me.”

Though her medical skills clearly weren’t good enough. How else could he have lost even his normal reactions?

“Right. I know.”

Saying she’d treated him sounded better. Zhou Yi understood.

After all, once she left, the drug’s effects wore off.

“Third Young Master, we’ve found out who drugged you.”

“Who?”

Ye Jingxiao’s voice was as cold as ice, as if a few more words would freeze someone to death.

“It—it was Old Master.”

Zhou Yi hadn’t expected Old Master to be so ruthless as to do that to his own son.

“Why?”

“Old Master said your allergy to women was because you’d never touched one. A few times, and you’d be desensitized.”

Ye Jingxiao was speechless.

He’d been wondering how anyone could have gotten past his security.

He wanted to kill someone, but unfortunately, he couldn’t lay a hand on his father.

“Third Young Master, I’ll find that woman as soon as possible.”

Zhou Yi could see him holding back. Since he couldn’t vent his anger on Old Master, Zhou Yi himself was conveniently right there to take the brunt of it. He’d better make a quick escape.

Ye Jingxiao said nothing as he watched him run off.

He pressed his lips together, the events of that night surfacing in his mind.

He seemed to have said he would take responsibility for that woman.

He’d kissed her, and she’d still saved him.

Maybe he should marry her. That would give him a good explanation for Old Master. They could put on a show for the elders, and he wouldn’t have to risk dying from his allergy.

Dijing Garden.

As soon as Si Nanyuan came downstairs, she saw Liu Wan and Su Xiyue. Her not-very-familiar father sat to one side, frowning.

“A-Yuan, you’re up.”

Liu Wan smiled with apparent warmth.

“Little Sister A-Yuan, good morning!”

Su Xiyue looked just as affectionate.

“A-Kai, no matter what, A-Yuan is still a child of the Su family. Even if she can’t be a top student like Yueyue, she should at least get a degree. Let her go to Kyoto University.”

Liu Wan urged him earnestly.

She had her own plans. A girl from the mountains, with no manners and no social skills. Once she got to Kyoto University, the students’ taunts would drown her out. Her reputation in their circle would be ruined, and then they’d see what she could do to compete with Yueyue.

“That’s right, Dad. I can look after my little sister at Kyoto University.”

Si Nanyuan rolled her eyes, then suddenly covered her mouth and gagged, looking queasy.

“Are you feeling sick?”

Su Zekai jumped to his feet, worry all over his face. Liu Wan and her daughter stared at him in disbelief.

Su Zekai was so emotionally detached, and he’d only just met Si Nanyuan. How could he already care about her so much?

“The tea’s too strong. It makes me nauseous.”

At that, Su Zekai looked toward the coffee table.

Liu Wan and Su Xiyue exchanged a glance, both looking displeased.

She was calling them scheming, fake-sweet women.

“Nanny Li, replace the tea with warm water.”

Nanny Li paused for a second. She didn’t call Si Nanyuan out on it and did as she was told.

“Little Sister A-Yuan, don’t worry about keeping up with the coursework at Kyoto University. I’ll teach you.”

Su Xiyue could hardly wait to see her make a fool of herself. Once Dad realized she was good for nothing, she’d no longer be a threat to Su Xiyue’s position.

“Were you having an affair?”

No one could keep up with the way Si Nanyuan’s mind worked.

“What nonsense are you talking about? Yueyue is your late eldest uncle’s daughter.”

Su Zekai knew the girl was doing it on purpose. She just wanted to pick a fight.

“Oh, and the daughter of your unrequited love.”

Su Zekai narrowed his eyes. The girl was deliberately pushing his temper again.

“A-Yuan, that was all in the past.”

“We’re not close. And I don’t have a sister.”

Liu Wan and Su Xiyue’s expressions stiffened.

“A-Kai, we’re only thinking of what’s best for the child. Consider it. Yueyue’s teacher can help get A-Yuan admitted. She can start as a freshman, and with Yueyue supervising her, her studies will improve by leaps and bounds.”

Si Nanyuan’s lips curved slightly. Yueyue supervising her? More like Nanny Rong supervising her.

Though they were separated by a coffee table, the mother and daughter’s scheming was practically wafting over to her.

“A-Yuan, do you want to go?”

Su Zekai didn’t want to force her, especially since the girl felt no affection for him and couldn’t even be bothered to pretend.

She’d come back to his side, apparently, just to get even.

Her little games were like children playing house. He understood that she was angry.

“Sure! I’ll go tomorrow.”

Si Nanyuan smiled as she sipped her tea.

“Yueyue, make sure you take good care of your sister.”

“Mom, I will.”

Su Xiyue had already made up her mind. Tomorrow, she’d put Si Nanyuan in the Elite Class. When she failed the assessment, she’d become a laughingstock across the whole university.

The next day, before Si Nanyuan had even arrived, rumors were already spreading through Kyoto University.

“Have you heard? The Su family found their Second Young Miss.”

“Apparently she’s a terrible student, and they’ve shoved her into the Elite Class. She’ll lower the standard for all of us.”

“Not only is she a terrible student, she dropped out when she was eleven.”

“Everyone in the Elite Class is against it. They’ve already set an exam. If she can’t pass, they’ll sign a petition to have her expelled.”

“Come on, let’s go watch the show.”

The students chattered among themselves. Some even started saying Si Nanyuan would be scared into fainting.

By the time Si Nanyuan appeared, a crowd had gathered around the teaching building.

“Si Nanyuan, if you want to get into the Elite Class, prove yourself. Don’t make people look down on you.”

“Exactly. It’s shameful to get in through connections.”

“A terrible student thinks she can join our Elite Class? What a joke.”

“…”

Su Xiyue was delighted. This was working out nicely.

“Don’t be like that. My sister never had the chance to study. She’s very smart.”

“Being smart doesn’t change the fact that she’s a terrible student.”

Facing the crowd’s attacks, Si Nanyuan smiled. “Tell me, what do you want to compete in?”

“These are the minimum standards for every subject for students in Kyoto University’s Elite Class. If you can’t meet them, you don’t belong here.”

Si Nanyuan glanced at the list. “I’ll take the assessment. But what if I pass?”

Her words were met with a tidal wave of laughter.

“If you pass, I’ll eat shit while standing on my head.”

The speaker was Liu Honghui, one of Su Xiyue’s admirers.

“If I pass, my scores become the standard for joining the Elite Class. Anyone who scores lower than me has to take the assessment again. If I fail, I’ll withdraw from school without complaint.”

“Fine.”

Su Xiyue tugged at Si Nanyuan. “Testing her right now is so unfair. She should at least have time to study first!”

“Moon Goddess is so kind!”

“Right! I heard Si Nanyuan came home and cursed Old Madam Su to die. She was so furious Old Madam nearly ended up in the ICU.”

Si Nanyuan shook Su Xiyue off, then sprayed the spot on her clothes where Su Xiyue had touched her with alcohol. Su Xiyue froze.

A cold smile tugged at Si Nanyuan’s lips. With two troublemakers like those, her mother must have had a hard time at the Su family home.

Besides, her mother’s car accident looked like an accident, but Si Nanyuan had investigated. Liu Wan definitely knew about it; she just had no proof.
