Chi Yun Su looked at these cards and found them quite interesting.

Cards used on starships had to be adapted to the space environment, so they differed from those used within planets. After picking out a blue card with the most intact circuit from the batch, Chi Yun Su naturally looked up at Yu Yin and said, “I don’t understand these circuits. Could you teach me?”

When it came to taking advantage, one had to go all out.Full novel: Wild Card Creation, As Long As It Works — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Yu Yin was speechless for a moment. However, he had already realized that he was no match for Chi Yun Su in arguments and had no desire to keep tangling with her. After a brief pause, he resignedly began explaining the cards to Chi Yun Su.

But he was different from the Inspector.

When the Inspector had taught Chi Yun Su, his goal had genuinely been to help her understand. Yu Yin, on the other hand, was merely going through the motions of teaching—whether Chi Yun Su understood or not was irrelevant to him.

Still, this was enough for Chi Yun Su.

Thanks to the Inspector’s earlier lessons, Chi Yun Su could grasp the meaning behind the academic-style explanations. Yu Yin only needed to briefly explain the circuits, and he finished quickly. Afterward, he even mocked Chi Yun Su: “If you still don’t get it, you can tell me what you do know. I have some useless cards of various types in my room. Just let me know, and I’ll get them for you.”

This was meant to corner Chi Yun Su.

Chi Yun Su paid no mind to the taunts of someone she was about to prove wrong. She took out her pen and turned to Yu Yin to ask for ink, adamantly refusing to use any of her own supplies.

Yu Yin’s lips twitched, but his gaze fell on the half-empty bottle of ink on Chi Yun Su’s desk, which appeared to contain sediment. Without a word, he promptly produced a fresh bottle of ink.

With a pen and ink in hand, Chi Yun Su was ready to get to work.

Repairing nearly scrapped cards was actually more laborious than crafting new ones, but Chi Yun Su had plenty of experience repairing blue cards at the Cleaning Company, so she handled the task with ease.

Light brown ink gradually covered the grayish circuits, and just as Yu Yin had seen in the video, a faint glow rose with each stroke of Chi Yun Su’s pen.

This was an effect that occurred whenever a card maker crafted a card.

Confusion flickered in Yu Yin’s eyes.

In fact, from the moment Chi Yun Su traced the first circuit, his expression had been one of bewilderment.

Because his psychic energy clearly sensed that the card in Chi Yun Su’s hand was indeed the one he had given her, and the circuits she was drawing were genuinely taking effect, one by one.

This completely defied everything Yu Yin had ever known.

As Chi Yun Su traced the circuits, the residual psychic energy in the card surged as he had expected, yet contrary to all common sense, it did not disrupt her drawing. Instead, it harmoniously blended with her work.

How was this possible?

While Yu Yin was still reeling from the shock, Chi Yun Su meticulously completed the entire card repair process.

To be precise, what Chi Yun Su did this time was more than just repairing the card. Halfway through the process, she suddenly had another idea and decided to experiment.

Since many of the circuits on this card were already scrapped and redrawing them wouldn’t affect the overall structure, why not follow her own ideas?Chi Yun Su still remembered the faint sense of upgrade when she had crafted the Card for Liang Laixi earlier.

She wanted to verify it.

Since ink was being provided to her for free, of course, she had to make the most of it.

So Chi Yun Su deepened it just a little bit more.

By the time she finished crafting, the entire Card had its brilliance contained within. Under Yu Yin’s blank stare, over a dozen additional Circuits appeared on the Card. The blue hue gradually deepened, growing darker and darker until, once all the brilliance was fully internalized, the deep, almost purple blue abruptly faded, leaving only a faint purple color before their eyes.

The Card had truly ascended in rank.

Yu Yin watched all of this in complete silence, and Chi Yun Su, considerate as ever, remained quiet as well. She simply extended the pale purple Card toward him.

Yu Yin didn’t take it. He took a deep breath, looked at Chi Yun Su with a serious expression, and stated a fact: “There’s something wrong with your psychic energy.”

Chi Yun Su chuckled. “Don’t deny reality and say such things.”

“A normal card maker’s psychic energy cannot repair Cards,” Yu Yin insisted.

Chi Yun Su found Yu Yin’s stubbornness almost laughable, and her expression turned cold. “If you’re willing to attempt card repair tens of thousands of times, you could do it too.”

Yu Yin looked at Chi Yun Su. “Do you think you’re the only one who has endured hardship? In the past, many three-star or even four-star card makers researched this.”

“Tens of thousands of attempts? Hundreds of thousands? Who knows? Back then, many card makers went mad due to the continuous loss of psychic energy during those studies.” When an entire system is deemed impossible by an entire profession, the sacrifices and accidents involved are never just one or two isolated incidents.

It was the blood and tears of a generation, or even several generations.

Chi Yun Su was taken aback. After a long pause, she let out a faint, ambiguous chuckle, her eyes darkening. “Maybe I’ve already gone mad.”

Yu Yin looked at Chi Yun Su but didn’t respond to her words. Instead, he reached out and took the pale purple Card from her hand.

“A bet is a bet. Come with me.”

Dragged into unpleasant memories by Yu Yin’s words, Chi Yun Su stood up with a cold expression.

Of course, she didn’t forget to take her empty backpack with her.

Fortunately, no matter how unpleasant her mood, it was hard to maintain a cold expression after Yu Yin opened the door to the Card maintenance warehouse, revealing two shelves fully stocked with Ink and materials.

She had never seen such a place before!

It was truly moving.

Starship Technology’s Starship certainly wasn’t just for transporting people—after all, how many people across the planets could afford to ride a Starship? Their main source of profit was, of course, cargo transportation.

Buying low and selling high was the essence of business.

The numerous warehouses on this Starship were the reason the staff in the activity room had confidently claimed they could provide anything.

Of course, now Chi Yun Su didn’t have to buy anything.

She could take whatever she wanted!!

The other Starship employees, witnessing Chi Yun Su’s frenzy, were stunned. They all turned to Yu Yin, who had initially gone to confront her but had ended up bringing her over for a shopping spree not long after.”Master Yu… what is this…?” The other employees were somewhat confused by Yu Yin’s current mental state and cautiously inquired of him.

Yu Yin looked at Chi Yun Su’s utterly unsophisticated demeanor and twitched the corner of his mouth. But considering that a card maker absolutely unique in the card crafting world could be so thrilled just by seeing a warehouse full of ordinary card-making goods, he couldn’t bring himself to say anything.

In the end, Yu Yin calmly told the other employees, “Let her take whatever she wants. Put everything on my personal account and deduct it directly.”

“…Alright.”

Although Yu Yin told the other employees to let Chi Yun Su take whatever she wanted, Chi Yun Su was still very honest. She only took the previously agreed-upon amount, not a single item more.

“Do you want to check it?” Chi Yun Su held up her heavy backpack to Yu Yin, her face beaming with an irrepressible bright smile.

Even if she filled this entire backpack, how much could it really hold? After becoming a Three-Star Card Maker, Yu Yin wasn’t short on money. He snorted coldly, ignoring Chi Yun Su, and continued leading her to the next location.

Yu Yin’s personal collection of books certainly wasn’t stored in this warehouse.

Yu Yin pushed open the door to his card maintenance technician’s dormitory. It was clearly much more spacious than Chi Yun Su’s simple rest area.

After all, Chi Yun Su’s ordinary cabin had cost over a hundred thousand star coins.

This was where Yu Yin lived and worked. As a single man living alone, the tidiness of his entire room was worlds apart from the Inspector’s.

However, there were some similarities between the two.

For example, the very clean and orderly workbench and bookshelf.

Chi Yun Su immediately began rapidly scanning the bookshelf for the books she wanted.

In this world, important knowledge was still very precious. Even the Inspector, who wasn’t stingy, only allowed Chi Yun Su to read freely when she expressed her desire for books, rather than simply giving them to her.

For ordinary people, learning was actually a luxury. Many people in Chi Yun Su’s previous world thought it was commonplace only because they lived in the right country.

The true value of learning could be glimpsed from the various tutoring and private lesson fees in the past.

But before Chi Yun Su could finish selecting, Yu Yin had already pulled two books from his shelf and tossed them into her hands. While Chi Yun Su was freely taking card-making materials, Yu Yin’s expression hadn’t changed at all. But after giving these two books, his face darkened uncontrollably, and he waved her away with a pained look. “Alright, take these two books and go. Have some conscience—considering all these things, go to the Card Makers Association sometime to check what’s going on with your psychic energy.”

Chi Yun Su looked speechless.

Wasn’t it agreed that she could choose herself?

But Chi Yun Su lowered her head to look at the titles of the two books he had given her. They were both closely related to card repair, such as “The Resonant Relationship Between Psychic Energy and Material Science.”

Clearly, he hadn’t just randomly picked two books to brush her off. Since that was the case, Chi Yun Su didn’t say anything more.It can be seen that this card maker is different from the Inspector—he is rather self-centered, believing whatever he thinks is right. For example, at first, he stubbornly believed Chi Yun Su was lying, and now, thinking she was suited for these two books, he chose them for her without considering her opinion.

While such a person may not necessarily be malicious, Chi Yun Su herself simply finds it tiresome to interact with him.

With her plentiful gains in hand, Chi Yun Su returned to her room with light steps and put away the Ink she had prepared on the desk.

Chi Yun Su decided to use as few of her own creations as possible.

Just think of all the things she had gradually learned since leaving Black Port!

The Card Cleansing Technique she had developed many years ago was now classified as forbidden art in the card-making world.

Earlier, when she had the Inspector help her study Cards at the Cleaning Company, she discovered a Circuit that carried its own energy—something unheard of outside.

Now, on the Starship, she learned from Yu Yin that no one in the entire card-making world knew how to perform card repair.

Feeling that her self-taught, unconventional methods were completely different from the mainstream card-making world, Chi Yun Su felt as conspicuous as a thousand-watt light bulb shining in the night.

She decided to keep a lower profile and use standardized items from the outside world whenever possible.

The greatest concealment lies in blending into the crowd.

As for the things she had already exposed…

Chi Yun Su thought for a moment and took out the letter of recommendation the Inspector had given her.
