The next morning, the buzzing of the alarm clock pulled Noah out of his sleep.

He groggily reached out and turned off the electronic alarm on his terminal, then rubbed his eyes until his vision gradually focused.

The bed on the other side was still an empty wooden frame.Full novel: Wuthering Waves: I Don’t Really Want to Be the Villain — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Clearly, no one had slept there overnight.

“My luck is pretty good…”

Noah grinned as he sat up from the bed.

It seemed either the number of people was an odd count, or his originally assigned roommate hadn’t come for some reason.

Then he hoped no one would ever come.

Being able to experience the legendary single-person dormitory during campus life he would gladly accept this opening benefit.

After quickly washing up, he opened the wardrobe and took out the Startorch Academy student uniform.

The fitted jacket, straight trousers, and finally the green necktie bearing the Department of Exostrider Engineering’s gear and ruler emblem.

He stood in front of the full-length mirror, carefully tying the necktie knot and adjusting his collar.

The young man reflected in the mirror had refined features and an upright posture.

The white uniform made his temperament look clean and sharp.

Noah raised an eyebrow and gave the mirror a smile he considered quite charming.

“Clothes make the man, saddles make the horse… My modeling was already decent to begin with.

Now I’m handsome enough to make people drop their jaws.”

He thought rather confidently, and the encounter on the dusk path from yesterday surfaced in his mind.

Noah recalled the fleeting faint blush on Rover’s cheeks.

“Maybe Rover’s little bit of shyness yesterday… really had a tiny chance of being because my looks dazzled her eyes?”

[Detection of unrealistic fantasy from the host.

Correction: Yesterday’s visual impact mainly stemmed from the huge contrast between Rover’s attire and her usual state, as well as the host’s own insufficient self-control in staring at her.]

The system’s cold, mechanical voice suddenly rang out in his mind.

“Damn it!

Can you not be such a buzzkill?!”

The smug expression on Noah’s face instantly collapsed.

In his mind, he launched a thirty-second-long verbal tirade at the system.

His vocabulary was so rich that it perfectly demonstrated his mastery of the Solaris Common Language, continuing until the electronic voice was completely silenced.

After venting satisfactorily, he felt refreshed.

While straightening his cuffs, he called up the system interface in his mind.

A blue semi-transparent panel immediately appeared before his eyes:

[Current Mission: Entrance Examination (Main Line)]

[Stage Objective: Establish classmate relationship with target character Rover (1/1), and gain her trust (0/1).

Current favorability status: Stranger (5/100) → Trust]

[Time Remaining: 26 days 3 hours 47 minutes]

[Note: Classmate relationship confirmed.

Favorability is under continuous evaluation…]

[Hint: The favorability system has five levels.

Each level’s total progress is 100, divided into: Stranger → Trust → Like → Adoration → Love]

“Trust is still zero?”

Noah curled his lip.

“I’ve already gone through life and death with her crossing the magnetic storm, sat on the same train, had a campus encounter, and even got teased by her…”

Is there something wrong with your system’s evaluation standards?”

The system did not respond.

He shook his head and scanned the other information.

[Host: Noah]

[Abilities: Spectro Resonance Power (Common class), Solaris Common Language (Mastery), Disguise Mastery (Can adjust the host’s own appearance, voice, and aura.

Effect weakens against high-perception targets such as Rover)]

[Other Missions: None]

“Tch, this Great Villain System is a bit unworthy of its name.

It hasn’t even released any new missions.”

Noah closed the interface and picked up the black student leather bag issued by the academy.

“But it doesn’t matter… I never really wanted to be some big villain anyway.”

“Hugging Rover’s thigh tightly and eating the great Rover’s soft rice doesn’t that smell good?”

After sorting out his thoughts, he pushed the door open and left.

The student cafeteria was spacious and bright.

At this hour, quite a few people were already eating.

Noah casually ordered a fried egg, bacon, and toast, along with hot milk, then walked to a corner seat and sat down.

When paying, he swiped his student ID card on the terminal machine.

Hearing the “beep” of successful deduction, he casually asked the cafeteria serving auntie, “Auntie, I’m an exchange student from the Black Shores.

Our consumption here is…”

“Oh, you’re exchange students from the Black Shores?”

The auntie continued working while speaking cheerfully, “It’s very convenient!

The previous student from your place also said that consumption is all charged to the student ID card, and the Black Shores side will settle it uniformly!

Eat without worry!”

“I see.

Thank you, Auntie.”

Noah smiled and replied, his mood even better.

Why spend money when you can eat for free?

Thinking this, Noah picked up a piece of bacon and ate it.

Mm.

This Rover’s soft rice really tasted fragrant.

After finishing breakfast, he followed the map on his terminal and arrived punctually at the Graphic Report Hall of the Engineering Department Building.

The lecture hall, which could accommodate several hundred people, already had quite a few students seated.

The low buzz of conversation echoed throughout the vast space.

The moment Noah stepped through the door, his gaze swept across the room and immediately landed on the figure sitting in the front row near the aisle.

Rover or rather, Raeliana was already seated there.

She was wearing the Startorch Academy white female uniform.

Her jacket was draped over the back of the chair, leaving her in only a well-fitted white shirt and green bow tie.

Below was a knee-length pleated skirt and black thigh-high stockings.

She was slightly tilting her head back, taking small sips from a bottle of water in her hand.

Her slender neck drew a graceful arc.

As if sensing his gaze, she turned her head.

Her golden pupils accurately met Noah’s line of sight.

Immediately, the corner of her lips curved upward.

When a beauty invites you, how could one refuse?

Noah immediately broke into a smile and quickly walked down the aisle.

Under the gaze of quite a few eyes, he calmly and naturally walked to that spot and sat down openly.

“Morning, Raeliana.”

He greeted her first, his tone natural.

“Morning, Noah.”

Rover tightened the cap on the water bottle and placed it on the desk beside her.

Her voice was calm.

“Did you sleep well?”

“Not bad.

My luck was pretty good.”

Noah smiled and put his leather bag by his feet.

“Single-person dormitory.

Very quiet.”

The two sat side by side, chatting in low voices.

The combination of a handsome young man and a beautiful girl was already eye-catching.

Added to their identities as Black Shores exchange students, they immediately attracted quite a bit of attention.

Other Engineering Department students sitting in the back rows of the lecture hall occasionally cast curious glances toward the front, mixed with low whispers.

“Look, that girl in the front row… she’s so pretty!”

“The guy next to her is pretty handsome too.

Are they from the Black Shores?”

At this moment, a well-informed female student lowered her voice and said, “I heard yesterday that a particularly beautiful Black Shores exchange student came to the second-year division this term.

It must be her, right?”

“The senior has such a great temperament…”

A round-faced female student cupped her cheeks, her eyes practically turning into stars.

“Both beautiful and handsome!

The way she waved just now was so cool!”

“The senior next to her looks good too!

The refreshing kind of handsome!”

The girl beside her agreed, then added with some regret, “But they seem to have a really good relationship…”

On the other side, after appreciating Rover’s beauty, several male students turned their gazes toward Noah, carrying the subtle comparison and curiosity typical among peers.

“That guy is pretty handsome, and he looks like he has some presence.”

“Coming from the Black Shores, he must have something going for him, right?

I wonder how his Resonance ability is.”

“Not sure… but being so familiar with a beauty of that level, he definitely isn’t ordinary.”

“…”

The other Black Shores exchange students sitting in the front rows, however, acted as if they saw nothing unusual about the two.

Or rather, even while on the way to the academy, they had already tacitly accepted the existence of this “Raeliana” who possessed extraordinary appearance and bearing, as well as the research assistant Noah beside her.

At this moment, most of them were lowering their heads to look at their terminals or the materials in their hands.
