The girls from Solaris had been loaded up with an enormous amount of stuff by the folks in the alley.
Xiao Ling certainly couldn’t take them squeezing onto the subway like that.
Aemeath was already well-versed in this world’s public services and hailed a taxi on her own.
So they split into two cars.
Little Amy, Chisa-chan, and the blond gyaru in one car.
Orange elf, Kind-hearted Peach, and Bro Ling in the other.
Over half an hour later…
“Hah…
finally here…” Xiao Ling climbed out of the front passenger seat, looking rather unwell.
He then gentlemanly pulled open the rear door, and Denia and Sigrika hopped out from the back seat.
The three of them hauled all the bags and bundles out of the car together, then watched as the vehicle sped off into the distance.
Turning around, they saw Aemeath and the others already waving at him from not far away.
“You look really pale.
Are you sick?” Seeing the slightly green tinge on Xiao Ling’s face, Aemeath came trotting over with genuine concern.
She pressed her forehead against his.
“Huh?
Your temperature’s normal?”
“I get carsick…” Xiao Ling waved his hand.
“Just need a moment.”
Actually, it wasn’t just carsickness.
The whole time he’d sat in the front passenger seat, the driver had been silently judging him with his eyes.
Couldn’t be helped.
Sigrika and Denia had been leaning against him from both sides before getting into the car.
It was hard not to make people think “two-timing.”
This little episode of physical discomfort soon passed.
With Xiao Ling leading the way, the girls soon arrived at their new home.
And then came…
“Hold on, Xiao Ling, where’d you go to strike it rich?” Linae’s eyes nearly popped out of her head at the sight of the grand villa before her.
She’d spent no small amount of time surfing the web and had a rough grasp of this world’s housing prices.
In her impression, these kinds of houses easily pushed toward eight figures.
Sure, Linae had fantasized about it.
But only fantasized.
And now you’re telling her she actually gets to live in a huge mansion like this?
What had she ever done to deserve it?
“The power of money.
Pretty magical, right?” Compared to Linae’s shock, Denia seemed rather unruffled.
She’d been the first to arrive at Xiao Ling’s side, so she naturally knew that this ordinary-looking guy, who seemed to have nothing going for him but his looks, actually had a wealthy family behind him.
She was, after all, officially recognized by the Xiao family as their son’s future bride.
The monthly allowance she could get even had one more zero on it than Xiao Ling’s.
Xiao Ling had thus lodged strong protests to his family, demanding equal treatment.
They had responded by first discussing “mental cultivation” and then rejecting his petition on a hundred grounds, causing his cause to crash and burn.
“This is amazing…” Even the usually chatty Aemeath was struck somewhat speechless by the scene before her, only able to voice sincere admiration. New chapters come out on g.com first.
So what had she been busting her butt streaming for all this time QAQ!
“The environment here is so nice!
Mm…
I can even hear birds singing!” Sigrika’s focus had instead shifted to the natural surroundings of the estate.
For her, born of the Roya tribe, closeness to nature was instinct.
And!
Most importantly!
There were birds here!
“So, Senpai…!” Chisa-chan, usually sporting a cool, expressionless face, now had her brows slightly furrowed and wore a hint of reproach as she looked at Xiao Ling.
She looked exactly like she had back when she’d learned of Namipon’s faked death.
“This is what you call…
having a bit of a foundation?”
“Ahaha…
how about we head inside and take a look first?
Perfect time to pick out the rooms you like.” Faced with Chisa’s reproachful scolding, Xiao Ling could only laugh it off and forcibly redirect the topic to touring the new home.
Had to say, it was pretty effective.
Aside from Denia, who’d already settled in here, everyone had long been itching to head inside and explore.
And so, led by Xiao Ling, this flock of lovely ladies chatted and laughed as they walked into their future new home.
…
“Whoa!
This bed’s huge!
I love it!” Without even taking off her shoes, Linae launched herself onto the goose-down bed, making the whole thing bounce.
“As expected, having a bed all to yourself really is the comfiest…”
Don’t get the wrong idea, Linae wasn’t looking down on the days she’d shared a place with Aemeath and the others.
It was just that back then, the beds weren’t big enough yet still had to fit two people.
She hadn’t slept all that comfortably.
They were all grown young women now.
If not forced by circumstance, they’d all much rather leave each other a bit more private space.
“Aiya, oh no.
I’ve taken a liking to this bedroom too.
What to do?” Aemeath revealed her little devil’s claws at this moment.
“How about you give it to me, Linae~”
“Nope.
I saw it first!” Linae protested.
“Heehee, you’ll give it up whether you want to or not today!” Aemeath launched herself at Linae and started tickling her.
“Ouch, Amy, you have no honor!
Hahaha, stop, stop!
It tickles!”
Xiao Ling shook his head helplessly and continued on ahead with the remaining three girls.
These two were both demons incarnate.
Better to leave them be for now.
“Speaking of which, Nia, which bedroom are you staying in?” Sigrika tilted her head and asked Denia beside her.
“Me?
I’m right here.” Denia pointed at the bedroom in the middle on the left.
“Then I’ll take the one right across from you!”
Sigrika didn’t really have any particular preferences when it came to rooms.
She just wanted to live together with everyone.
That was all.
She opened the door to the bedroom directly across from Denia’s.
Her eyes suddenly lit up.
“You can see birds from here!” Sigrika immediately rushed to the window and watched a pair of magpies chattering to each other on a tree branch.
“Lucky!”
“Looks like this bedroom suits your tastes, huh?” Xiao Ling chuckled.
“Mm-mm!
I really like this bedroom, Senior.” Sigrika nodded her head twice with vigor.
“I’ll stay right here!”
Xiao Ling nodded.
Denia chose to stay behind and help Sigrika organize her luggage, while he continued forward with Chisa.
“Which bedroom is Senpai staying in?” Chisa, who had remained silent all this time, finally spoke up.
“Here.
The one furthest in is mine.” Xiao Ling gestured with his chin toward the door at the very end.
“Mm…” Chisa pondered for a moment, then made her decision.
“Then I’ll take the bedroom closest to Senpai.
That way, if anything unexpected happens to you, I’ll be able to get there right away.”
“I appreciate the thought.” Xiao Ling smiled, thanking Chisa for her consideration.
After watching Chisa walk into the bedroom closest to his own, Xiao Ling then saw Linae emerge from that very first room, utterly dejected.
“Guess you couldn’t win against Amy?” Xiao Ling teased.
“Ugh…
Amy’s so unfair.
She went right for my weak spot.
And she said she wouldn’t stop unless I gave in.
I had no choice.
I had to give it up…” Linae looked thoroughly put out.
The bedroom she’d had her eye on first, and she hadn’t been able to hold it.
“Alright, don’t be so down.
There are plenty of bedrooms here.
You’re bound to find another one that catches your eye.” Xiao Ling patted her shoulder.
This bro-like encouragement actually worked quite well on Linae.
Soon enough, she found another bedroom that caught her fancy and nimbly moved her luggage in.
Seeing that everyone had found a bedroom they liked, Xiao Ling figured he wouldn’t keep bothering them while they unpacked.
So he headed downstairs to the living room first, ready to consider what to have for dinner tonight.
Comment it and let me know.
