“Megumi…”

After introducing himself, Megumi’s mouth twitched slightly.

This was because the guy in front of him was being far too exaggerated in both speech and action.Full novel: Wuthering Waves: Ten Shadows Technique — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But since he called himself a senior, then…

“Are you an upperclassman?”

It wouldn’t be bad to use this guy to get to know the academy.

In any case, what Rover and Lynae were going to do now had nothing to do with him.

As expected, his pursuit was just a peaceful life.

If he had to choose, he would definitely choose joining a club over subjugating the Remnant Star Society.

“Exactly. Second year, your senior. As for how I knew you’re a junior, well, freshmen usually react just like you did when they first come to the cafeteria.”

Hearing him speak, Megumi recalled the expression he had after eating the cafeteria food earlier.

So he judged freshmen based on that?

Though, it certainly was a very recognizable reaction.

“You introduced yourself as a club president; you’re not here to recruit me, are you?”

Megumi remembered some club recruitment tactics he’d seen on the internet before.

Basically, they act one way in public and another behind the scenes—as charming as possible when recruiting, and as cold as ice during the interview.

Yeah, it’s a hassle.

“No, it’s a ‘borrow.’ I want to borrow your Resonance Ability, junior.”

As Mo Qu spoke, he looked back at the White Jade Dog beside Megumi.

“Then… let’s talk while we walk,” Megumi said, standing up.

He couldn’t stand the way the other students around them were looking anymore.

He felt others might mistake him for being the same type of person as Mo Qu, which wouldn’t be good, so he hurriedly requested to talk elsewhere.

“Sure, no problem!”

Giving a thumbs-up, Mo Qu led Megumi toward the teaching building, swiping a few bags of food before they left.

Along the way, Mo Qu talked incessantly about the academy.

Megumi noticed that the probability of people turning their heads to look at them was quite high.

“Heh heh, noticed it, junior?”

Mo Qu had clearly noticed it too, wearing an all-knowing expression.

“So, is our knowledgeable senior going to tell us why the turn-rate is so high?” Megumi played along expressionlessly.

Could it be that this guy really had some extraordinary performance in the school?

“Isn’t it obvious? It’s because I, the wise and courageous senior of impeccable character, am far too attract—”

“If you keep bragging, my impression of you will drop another ten points.”

Megumi’s next sentence immediately silenced Mo Qu, and his flamboyant posing froze mid-air.

That one sentence instantly extinguished Megumi’s brief illusion.

“Cough, cough. See those Tunnel Clusters creatures over by the academy’s green belt?”

Mo Qu started explaining seriously to Megumi.

Megumi followed his finger and looked at the nearby green belt.

There was a Mechanical Elk there.

“In Lahai-Roi, aside from some original species that evolved specifically in the wild, there are only these scrap-metal Tunnel Clusters creatures.”

Megumi nodded as he listened to Mo Qu’s explanation.

He had heard about the concept of Tunnel Clusters from Lynae; they were formed from parts dropped by the legendary giant robot, the Exostrider.

Then he roughly understood why the people here were looking at them.

Strictly speaking, they weren’t looking at him or Mo Qu, but at the White Jade Dog he had summoned beside him.

In this academy filled with only scrap-metal animals and terrible food, a big fluffy dog indeed held no small attraction for these students.

After patting the Jade Dog’s head, Megumi and Mo Qu arrived at the Drama Club.

In reality, it was just a borrowed classroom.

However, this classroom had been modified by the club members to look much more gaudy; Megumi saw balloons hanging on the walls as soon as he entered.

“So, what do you want to borrow my ability for?”

Megumi didn’t bother explaining things like Sorcerers or Cursed Energy to him, so he simply asked using the other’s terminology.

He had indeed learned some useful things from the guy along the way, such as the academy’s architectural layout and the distribution of some resources outside the academy.

This veteran senior was actually somewhat useful, so after receiving help, Megumi didn’t plan to reject him outright; he’d hear what the guy wanted first.

“Since it’s called the Drama Club, I want to borrow your ability to put on an eye-catching grand performance!” Mo Qu gestured wildly.

“So, you want to use the trait of my ability that can make things appear ‘out of thin air’?”

Megumi figured this guy must have seen him summoning the Jade Dog.

Hearing this, Megumi initially wanted to summon Nue to show him, but then he thought of something else.

Thud, thud.

He walked to the podium, picked up a bag of food that Mo Qu had swiped earlier, and threw it toward his feet.

Plop.

After the sound of splashing water, the bag of food finally vanished directly into Megumi’s shadow.

“Amazing!” Mo Qu marveled from the side.

In his understanding, if things could be thrown in, then they could surely be taken back out.

Then, when performing the drama, the things he could ask Megumi to summon definitely wouldn’t be limited to just that big dog.

“A friendly reminder: the things I can store are judged by weight. Storing an entire house is definitely impossible,” Megumi explained.

He had just tested this ability himself.

The principle was similar to sinking himself into the shadow, and since the chalk he put in wasn’t a living thing, he didn’t have to worry about it drowning.

“By the way, since you said you’re doing drama, where are the people?” Megumi looked around.

He did see some costumes and items needed for drama in the corner, but there were only the two of them in the entire classroom right now.

Where were the other club members?

Shouldn’t they all be out of class and free by now?

Could it be…

Megumi suddenly thought of another possibility.

A possibility that fit this ‘eccentric’ person in front of him…

“Heh heh, I am someone from Rinasita,” Mo Qu suddenly smiled.

“Having witnessed Carnival parties several times with my own eyes, even if there’s only one person, I can perform the effect of a crowd!”

With that, Mo Qu spread his arms, like the most dazzling actor under the spotlight!

But the reality was that there were no spotlights in this classroom, and there were only two living people.

“Meaning you think you can recruit me and the performance will be a success even though you’re the only member?” Megumi said bluntly.

“Yes.”

He’s a lost cause…

Looking at the nodding senior in front of him, Megumi felt that when the time came, he would at most be watching a joke from the sidelines.
