Lynae and Megumi took advantage of the Void Worm’s weakened state to put some distance between them and the creature.

Just after they pulled away, several beams of light struck from the distance.
“It worked!”
Judging by the joy in Lynae’s tone, those white lights were the defensive arrays they had planned to activate.
“Lynae! And Megumi?!”
Rover arrived on her motorcycle at this moment; like Lynae, she was surprised by Megumi’s arrival.
However, as a veteran of many battles, she immediately knew this was not the time for small talk.
“Get close to that big guy while it’s weakened by the Binding Vow!”
Lynae said to Megumi and Rover beside her.
“Right!”
After nodding to show they understood, the two immediately drove off with Lynae from different directions, charging toward the Void Worm.
Attacking from three lines would ensure they could harass the giant bug from multiple angles.
“Roar! Roar!”
Constrained by the defensive array and previously harassed by Megumi’s fused shikigami, the Void Worm appeared exceptionally irritable.
Watching these ants scurrying beneath its feet and the lights restricting its freedom, it held nothing back.
As a monster formed from the power of the Void-Born World, it naturally had the ability to reduce everything it loathed to nothingness.

Consequently, powerful laser beams shot continuously toward various locations as its massive body swayed and its abyssal maw opened.
“Attacking blindly, huh…”
Megumi could tell that this guy was no different from being in a frenzy now.
As its massive body thrashed about, it even unearthed giant boulders buried deep underground.
“Good opportunity.” Lynae smiled from the other side.
With these boulders providing cover, they could get closer to the Void Worm more safely.

Sensing the enemies approaching, the Void Worm became even more impatient.
This time, its power beams didn’t erupt from its mouth but shot directly from the core in the center of its body.
This omnidirectional attack forced Lynae and Rover to dodge in a panic.
One was a former New Federation mercenary, and the other was a Black Shores Flower-Holder; naturally, they were able to evade the Void Worm’s attacks.
He realized that there was no way he could rely on his vehicle to dodge this desperate strike from the Void Worm.

He looked at Lynae and Rover, who were in front of him.

Thinking this, Megumi leaped off his vehicle.

The Void Worm’s attack struck Megumi’s vehicle, and the motorcycle exploded into a ball of fire.

Lynae and Rover certainly heard the commotion behind them, but they didn’t look back.
Because they knew they had to deal with this giant bug in front of them first.
Furthermore, they remembered that Megumi had the means to escape by diving into shadows.

The two drove their motorcycles close to the Void Worm, and then Rover leaped into the air.
Her Resonance Ability allowed her to fly in the air and keep the Void Worm suppressed, while Lynae used the equipment on her motorcycle to attack from the ground.

Under this combination of attacks, the Void Worm let out a mournful cry from the pain.

But Rover didn’t care about its feelings; she seized the opportunity to use a delicate longsword to pin its head to the ground from mid-air.
Both of them had the same thought in their minds at this moment.

The Void Worm rose again, condensing all the energy within its body.
It no longer paid attention to the two beside it, instead aiming its massive maw at its original target.
“Oh no, its target is Star-Torch Academy!”

She revved her motorcycle to full power and drove up along the Void Worm’s body.

Seeing this from the air and fearing that Lynae was doing something reckless, Rover immediately wanted to descend to provide support.

However, several more laser beams appeared from the Void Worm’s core, intercepting her in the air.
Even worse, some of those attacks were aimed at Lynae.

Then, a hand reached out from within, the light from the Void Worm’s lasers illuminating the shadow of that hand.
It looked like a winding serpent.
“Great Serpent!”
Megumi’s voice followed; he was summoning a new shikigami.
“Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!”
Then, a massive white snake, nearly the same size as the Void Worm, emerged from the Void Worm’s shadow and coiled around it.
Megumi had not yet tamed this new shikigami; at this moment, he had merely dragged the Void Worm, Lynae, and Rover into the Taming Ritual.
This Great Serpent shikigami would not obey Megumi’s commands, but it would instinctively attack anything within the Taming Ritual that threatened it.
Thus, it coiled around the most conspicuous target: the Void Worm.
And this bought Lynae enough time.
“Roar!!”
“Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!”
The lasers from the Void Worm’s core were completely blocked by the Great Serpent’s massive body, allowing both Lynae and Rover to move freely.
The unintelligent Great Serpent, having absorbed all of the Void Worm’s attacks, eventually dissolved into a pool of shadow and vanished.

Meanwhile, Lynae took advantage of the time the Great Serpent spent stalling the Void Worm to reach the top of the monster that was trying to attack the academy.

Amidst the roar of her engine, Lynae leaped up on her motorcycle and finally arrived in front of the Void Worm.
This was a very dangerous move, as the Void Worm still held one last burst of energy in its mouth.
But Lynae would not be afraid.
Because the Void Worm wanted to harm the academy.
To harm the place that first took in a mercenary like her, the place that let her experience sunshine and happiness.
She would not allow such a thing.
Click-clack.
Thus, Lynae backflipped off her motorcycle in mid-air, retreating behind it, and threw the paint cans she was carrying.
With the enhancement of her Resonance Ability, Lynae could turn these jars and cans into small bombs.
With the increased impact force from these bombs, combined with the power of the motorcycle itself…
RUMBLE!!!
The explosion of the paint cans pushed the motorcycle, jamming it into the Void Worm’s throat, and finally, the Void Worm’s burst of energy backfired along with the motorcycle’s explosion.
“Oh no…”
Rover realized from the air that the Void Worm’s core had been affected by that explosion.
In that case, the Void Worm itself would become a giant bomb!
Rumble!
Consequently, in the end, Lynae was blown straight up into the clouds by the shockwave from the Void Worm’s self-detonation.
