“Where is this thing? No way there’s high amounts of the-”

An intense malicious force spreads through the area, the person dressed in black braces themselves as the area pops with intense energy.

Buildings crumble as the creature continues to move.

The person draws their sword, closing their eyes before rushing in.

“Shit there’s so many of them?! Where is the backup?”

Landing down on the ground quickly slicing one Kara with their left arm.

BANG!

Pulling out their service pistol with the other hand blasting away at these creatures.

They rush across the wide open area trying to get to others without dying.

“Oh goodness why are there so many here?! The sudden surge lately with things is alarming!” The person says with worry.

Reaching the side of an abandoned mall, they reach for their radio.

“Hello! Can anyone here help me? This is agent Suzuki, this situation is getting out of hand!” She yells into the radio.

The building nearby crumbles before her, as a winged Kara takes flight.

This place is a contamination zone.

“YES! I read you! Agent Suzuki was it? I am sending others to your local area, hang tight!”

The radio cuts off as if the disturbance in this place is freakishly high.

She couldn’t tell Kara from agents anymore– just the blurred lines of different energies popping up and fading.

Muzzle flashes and Tamaryoku increases like a storm.

BVSSRK!

A figure lands in front of her.

“What the? Hey are you…”

“Sorry, am I late?” The person says looking at Suzuki.

They brush themselves off, before unraveling bandages revealing a long Guandao.

“Excuse me! Are you the backup that was requested?” She questions.

“I just happened to get into the area, from what I’ve seen it’s getting out of hand alright.”

“What’s your name?” She asks.

“Agent Yamamoto, Haruto Yamamoto!” He confidently shouts.

Suzuki stands there in silence.

“Uh… Agent Suzuki here.”

“Well have you confirmed the amount of casualties?” Suzuki asks while trying to see if her radio can pick up a signal.

“The reports are not even in yet, there was a guy I was with who was clearing out the area of Karas. We found twelve civilian casualties and Fourteen personnel casualties.”

Yamamoto shakes his head.

“I can’t believe Tokyo is getting these outbreaks and in this ward as well…”

“Damn, my radio is completely dead… It wasn’t even near dying, but still–”

“Suzuki was it? Come on, we shouldn’t stay in one place for too long. Those things can close in quickly.”

Yamamoto removes his weapon from the ground before readying to leave.

“Alright, I’ll come with you!” Suzuki exclaims.

She and him run across the mall before heading down a hill, approaching the heart of all this madness.

BVRWOOSH!

An explosion rings out, many winged beasts fly speeding towards the center of the madness.

“Hey, Yamamoto! What are the amount of Kara in the area?!” She exclaims hurriedly.

“Likewise I am not sure, but looking at those flying things above, it seems like those are just Ressāhasuku.”

Suzuki looks at the madness in the sky.

“So just basic Kara’s huh? It shouldn’t be hard to deal with those things.”

“But I think the more we go in, we might encounter Gurētohasuku’s with this concentration. That would be troubling.”

Jumping onto a building Yamamoto see’s the sky, it being covered by a dark almost fading presence even the mix of the sun’s setting sky clashes with the area.

“Yamamoto! You think there is a veil that is being covered around this entire place?” Suzuki shouts frantically.

“Probably, though I can’t sense it near me. So it’s probably greater than Three Kilometers!”

“RRAARGHKK!”

A Kara lands crashing down onto the building.

“It’s fast!” Suzuki draws her pistol, firing at the thing.

Yamamoto comes down, igniting his weapon with flames, before slicing the creature in two.

BANG!

BANG!

“Good grief” Suzuki mutters.

“Ha, you’re really hammering that thing while it’s dead!” Yamamoto sighs.

The Kara starts dissolving.

Suzuki points over the distance.

“I think we are near the Edo river, judging from that distance over there. That is where the heart of it is.”

“I think we should wait, let’s not rush into what seems like a death sentence.” Yamamoto points out.

Checking her radio, Suzuki finally picks up a single, and she frantically switches channels.

“Hello? HELLO? This is Agent Suzuki Keiko, I am requesting the current situation right now?! Can you hear me?”

The radio static for a bit before finally picking up a line.

“Hello Agent, can you hear me? How can I help you?”

“What is the current situation of this Adachi outbreak?”

Yamamoto looks into the distance as the wind fiercely blows on his face, the light explosions and gun fire reflect on his eyes.

Everything lights up once in a while, as the noises of explosions raise up.

This is a war zone.

“Regarding the current situation of the outbreak that happened two hours ago….The amount of Karas currently detected in the 4 to 3 Kilometer veil. Ranges in the hundreds, possibly even in the 800s with these readings.”

“What the fuck?” Suzuki’s voice drops.

Her stomach turns, almost like she’s experiencing a childhood fear.

Karas fly over the atmosphere at high speeds.

BVWROOSH!

Catching both of their attention, they see the large explosion happen before their eyes.

“Secondly!” The speaker over the radio speaks up.

The radio cuts off again.

This time seemingly for good.

“If only a normal person surviving this could see what was happening, oh my…” Suzuki looks onward.

A singular streak paints the sky with its smoke.

Suzuki looks on, holding her heart.

“Hey Yamamoto. Doesn’t that look lik–”

Yamamoto gets on guard immediately.

The object painting the sky is revealed to be a Kara, charging right towards them.

At insane speeds.

Yamamoto grabs Suzuki as the object crashes down near them.

The explosion causes debris to fly everywhere.

Looking back he sees Kara taking shape as it bears its jagged misshaped teeth.

“Suzuki! Are you alright?”

Yamamoto picks her up so as to not be exposed in the vulnerable moment.

Suzuki looks at the creature reaching out from the small crater it made.

“Yeah” Suzuki pulls her pistol out while putting her katana back into its holster.

She wipes the blood off her forehead before confidently looking forward.

“I better get a raise after this.”

Yamamoto readies his weapon, igniting it with flames.

“Ha, Make that two.”

The creature jumps out from the crater it made, baring its teeth and roaring in a primal display.

They both charge at it, in a display of deterance

BRAP!

BRAP!

BRAP!

“Hashimoto! Hashimoto!” Amaiaruheitō shouts while looking around their quarters.

Where is he?

Damn how can he hide in such times like these?!

“Hashi–”

A book is thrown at Amaiaruheitō.

Amaiaruheitō grabs her head.

“What the hell was that for?!” she shouts

“You’re speaking too loudly, I was napping?” Hashimoto rubs his head while getting up.

“Ah, I guess fair point… Well, have you heard about the 26th?”

Yeah I heard about what happened to Adachi, it was really insane.”

She picks up a remote and turns on the the flat screen tv as it displays the information being relayed about the event from the SDEJ’s report.

It reads as the following:

March 28th.

Two days after the event regarding Adachi.

“Y’know it’s a surprise that the veil is still up, if it suddenly fell. The current public would wonder how an entire area got ravaged so badly.” Amaiaruheitō leans on the bed frame.

The whole Tokyo division of SDEJ is frantically discussing the outbreak that had happened two days ago.

Professionals run across the room hurriedly.

Operators fill in the report, squads and agents talk and discuss it.

Higher ups have meetings about it.

Hashimoto sits up from his bed as he reads all of this.

“So it has a lot of us scrambling, tsk tsk. Well it seems like my schedule is getting full.”

The event of Adachi is unprecedented, total casualties have raised up to four hundred seventies.

Most of them civilians and the rest being Agents who were deployed during that time.

Current summary, end.

The screen switches blankly to its menu showing various other news.

“It was horrific from what I have heard, and I was just done training Masashi in the evening. That day was a little much” Amaiaruheitō sighs.

“Have you seen Saijou lately? I have been calling him and he hasn’t picked up?”

“I think he went on a mission. Did he not leave a notice? I certainly got it.” Hashimoto speaks while getting up and stretching.

“No, I haven’t heard, maybe he did? I didn’t open my notifications yet” Amaiaruheitō checks her phone.

Opening her phone, he is bombarded by a huge amount of notifications.

“There it is, tch. He went out of the country?! Eh??? Who does he think he is?” Amaiaruheitō saunders.

“Hey Amaiaruheitō, have we got any missions lately?”

“A few, like two, are small time occurrences. But those are like two days ago.”

“But we have this one…”

She swipes through her phone.

“It was supposed to be planned out yesterday and carried out today… But the whole Adachi situation happened.”

Hashimoto perks up.

“Is that raid on that company estate that has been circulating around?”

“Yeah it was supposed to be a big bust. What I heard is the main man has been harboring a lot of funds, especially of what is going on in his family. He has been hiring people to do a lot of shady things.”

“So that operation is still on going or paused?” Hashimoto questions.

“Eh… It’s being treated like a side operation, since our resources in the Tokyo base are being focused on the catastrophe.”

Amaiaruheitō jumps and strikes a pose.

“But hey! I’ll be assigned to it!” Amaiaruheitō smiles cheerly.

“Of course you would… well I guess I’ll take care of the rest for this week.”

…..

The hours rage on as the event in Adachi has yet to be covered by the wider new population.

Executives are struggling to keep note of it down, and reports, notes, and sightings have been increased.

“Yodashi! Where the hell are these reports going?!” A man shouts.

“Hold on a minute, didn’t I tell you everything is coming in quickly?”

The banter is quite numerous as people talk, plan and predict what could possibly happen next after the following days.

“Don’t be so hard on him, will ya? Gaman?” A voice rings out.

“You came back?! The situation must have been dire at the site wasn’t it?”

The man walks into a briefing room.

“Yeah, I didn’t expect that insanity. Moreless the atmosphere of that place.”

“Well, you made it out alive didn’t you? Be sure you have your luck up Yamamoto!” The man shouts.

“Heh, yeah yeah. I managed to get a few civilians out, but the increase of Karas got intense.” Yamamoto sits down on a chair and rubs his head.

“Yeah… I’ve been getting notifications upon notifications about everything, the circulation and all!”

Yamamoto looks at the holographic table and sees the city of Adachi being displayed, the section still being covered by the veil after two days.

“I wonder where that Agent Suzuki went? She was pretty injured after all was said and done.”

Yamamoto leans forward and shakes his head.

“Did you not manage to escape with whoever that agent is and with others also?” Gaman inquires.

“Well once the fighting got intense, one of those Karas managed to injure her greatly. I think her arm got seared by flames, so I had to carry her into a hospital unit….”

“Me and a few others got caught up once the heart started to spread across the Edo river and elsewhere.”

“So I assume everyone with you is fine right?”

“Despite the injuries the group I managed to meet up with all came out alive.”

SRRK!

“Gaman! The reports are finished!” A voice shouts as the main door opens.

“Haha, nice work Yodashi!”

“Where is Suzume?” Yamamoto speaks up.

“She’s not here. She said she had to attend a mission that was assigned to her, yeah It’s all over the place with Tokyo base right now…” Gaman scratches his back while sipping some wine.

“Tsk, we are really busy now! And I haven’t even heard much from the other three squads. ” Yamamoto shouts sarcastically.

The three of them in the room go over what has already been shown and discuss what will happen next.

The number of squads and agents that day were limited to show up.

VWISSH!

“Come in, don’t just stand there.”

An electronic door slides open.

“With the recent events the operation has been sidelined, as you all know we do not have much resources to deal with.”

“So it is imperative that all of you focus on the main target while executing at least 60 percent of this operation silently.”

“If no one has comments I’ll go over the main plan of operations now.”

“Our main target of interest.”

A screen pops up showing a profile of the target, along with their family ties and business history.

“Hyuganatsu Fuji. This man has been causing issues. If you have been informed before this briefing, the instability of his family company gives us an opportunity to strike.”

“We will be conducting an operation on his main estate.”

“Excuse me! I have one question.” A voice speaks up.

“What do you want to ask? Suwarofusukī.”

“Does this operation start tonight or tomorrow?”

“Great question, I suppose I’ll skip to that. The operation starts on the 29th at 18:49 for more leeway. ”

“Any more questions?”

The room goes silent as the plan gets discussed through silent words and the plan of actions gets brought up.

Back and forth the many people who have gathered from different squads or even independent agents, discuss the situation and what it can entail going forward.

The person informing the operation speaks up.

“For everyone’s reminder! Hyuganatsu is cooperating with shady cults and organizations involving kidnapping and extorting resources of the public.”

The person clears their throat.

” You may ask?

‘What does this have to do with us?’ Unfortunately he has ties with different groups that cause mayhem involving Tamaryoku.”

“Now the information of what exactly is going on is unclear, but we do know from some of our leakers the information has details of meeting times, set up data’s, and piling of money.”

“Now we don’t know if this had something to do with Adachi as that is far away from where he is, so I’ll leave that thought up to you.”

The person turns their eyes to Amaiaruheitō.

“One more thing for you Suwarofusukī.”

Amaiaruheitō stops talking briefly and looks up.

“Yes?”

“Regarding the plans, it is advised that you bring Yanagidate Masashi to this mission.”

A dumbfounded expression slowly creeps onto her face.

“Excuse me what?”

CRUMBLE!

“This is a mess, everything here is reduced down to nothing.”

“I need a few people over here! I hear movement from this door under the rubble!”

Moving towards the rubble, a clean up crew pushes and moves the rubble off the destroyed building.

The missing floor and leaning of the structure to another makes navigation a dangerous task.

“We have someone alive here! Get over here real quick!”

The man shouting lifts open the hatch revealing a young boy and a woman.

“Mam! Are you alright?! Are you seriously hurt? Are there any dead?” The man hurriedly asks questions.

“M-my baby boy is not responding! W-h-en- After is happened we got went down here to hide and a bunch of rubble came and-”

They carry the boy out of the basement.

Covered in wounds, blood flowing down his head, he is completely unresponsive.

One of the recovery team members checked for the boy’s pulse; it’s faint.

“Come over here, we need a medic over here!” The man holding the shouts.

The boy’s mother is helped out of the hole as she herself is in a similar state.

“Mam! Your leg.”

The woman’s leg wrapped in thick bandages is almost completely twisted.

“Please don’t try to move any further! I’ll help you move around.”

A member of the team puts the woman’s arm around his neck and supports her out.

Movements are made quickly, teams make recoveries navigating through this destroyed section of Adachi.

The sky filled with dust seems to spread far across, what is left after the incident is the slowly decaying bodies of a few Karas.

The man who had found both the woman and boy sits on a pile of rubble near a destroyed almost flattened park.

“Chief Moriyama! We have made the finalized reports!” A person in some sort of hazmat suit rushes in.

“Well… What is the current situation?!” Moriyama speaks with a tired tone in his voice.

“The final report of the damage is multiple buildings across the four kilometer radius of the veil, along with fifty six percent of houses and structures being left to ruin and a few are just completely flattened.”

“Three hundred fifty civilian casualties unfortunately, the rest are agents. Moreover some areas might be hazardous so advise caution with certain areas that have been marked off.”

“Thank you, no more. I’ll look over it more as they get published.” Moriyama persisted as the person was just about to speak further.

“You’re welcome sir!”

Moriyama checks his watch, it’s only late into the morning.

Nothing has changed so far.

What lies on his mind is just wrapping this up and going home.

He is lucky that this veil still stands and has not gone down.

Getting up from the rubble he continues overseeing and looking at the damaged area.

“Those people earlier, where their bodies. Just laid out like that?”

He stops to puke at the side.

Scenes of first coming into the veil flash through his mind.
