Around 35 minutes earlier.

The meeting over the company’s sponsorships, contracts, and holdings begins.

Around the table, the pressure is somewhat intense with the members from the chosen company presenting their deals.Full novel: WyrD — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

A representative of the company stands up.

“Mr. Hyuganatsu, it was the right decision to reach out to us.”

“I’ll cut to the chase, due to your radio station company on the verge of bankruptcy. Your son managed to reach out to us, discussing the acquisition.”

He is nervous.

More than anything, he wants to keep most of the company, but the thought of giving up control terrifies him.

He thinks back to when his father gave him the inheritance, and he managed to raise it to a higher level of success.

He cannot fathom giving up what his father had entrusted him with, but if giving up what is most important to you saves you in the long run.

A deal that in the logical sense will save the company.

Mr Hyuganatsu speaks up.

“Yes, my son Fuji managed to negotiate a reasonable offer to us, I am looking forward to working with you people.”

“Now I’ll ask this, to what amount of assets I must share when we consider we will be merged into you?”

He sweats with anticipation, his eyes staying sharp in the whole process.

The representative smirks a bit.

Pulling out a document he lays it on the table.

“Concerning the acquisition of HGK Radio Stations by Ritachi, ltd. We will own up to 65% of the company.”

Silence envelopes the room, among Hyuganatsu representatives and the Representatives sent by Ritachi.

It is a deal Hyuganatsu has to stomach, having that much being owned would not allow them to profit off their services and towers.

Despite them being a separate entity, their profits, financial reports, and the way they operate would be hugely affected by said parent company upon acquisition.

A representative of Hyuganatsu taps him on the shoulder.

“Sir!”, the man whispers.

“Are you absolutely sure you want to go along with these deals?!”

“We will only have 35 percent control of our company. Even if it saves us? Would we truly have our own autonomy?”

“Talk about hostile takeover…”

Standing up firmly, he slams his hand on the table.

“We will accept your offer! My people, secure the documents, I’ll have to deal with business in the other room.”

Getting up he heads into his quarters.

The representative speaks up.

“Where are you going? I thought you were going to go ahead with signing this process?”

Mr Hyuganatsu firmly looks at the man.

“To be sure, I’ll get the documents I have that state its acquisition. I know enough of this world to see the little tricks.”

Okemia’s brother is absolutely furious, having to watch his father go along with the deal, he thought he would negotiate at least their own 40 percent.

Even 50 percent would not have sounded so bad, but 65?

He can’t believe his father would make such a move, he at least thought his father would put up a fight.

He contains his immense amount of power at bay, even the slight shake of his presence would terrify the people here.

It might even go worse for their already terrible deal.

If it was just that, he would only be frustrated.

But him not being the main inheritor of his father’s fortune and this company, pisses him off to no end.

He questions what his sister really knows about business?

Even if his father were to give her most of everything when she becomes an adult.

Why wait so long now?

Skrr

He buttons his suit properly before excusing himself and heading out of the room.

His face scowled.

“What are you even thinking father? Tch, are you as idiotic as them? What the fuck are you thinking…”

BRIRINGRING!

His phone rings with urgency.

Picking it up he retains his cool, returning to his usual voice.

“Hello, Fuji Hyuganatsu here? How can I–”

“Hyuganatsu! They’re coming here to invade your property?! From reports there is some sort of task force.” The voice on the phone urges.

His face turns once more into one of frustration.

“You have the other men armed right Tsukamasenu?! I guess the supply of assassinations was really useful.”

“Perhaps that whistle blower was right.”

Walking down the hallway he peeks at a mirror, shattering it with impressive efficiency.

He peeks out the window, seeing them coming through the main estate and even the other buildings.”

“Handle any intruders coming in, I want you to keep them away with your arm generation abilities. Kill them on sight.”

“Yes sir, consider it done.”

The phone hangs up, walking down towards his father’s quarters he opens the door.

“Father, I have to attend to matters in the lower floors. If you excuse me I will come back when I see what is going on.”

His father just looks at him with assured eyes.

“Alright then, you handle your matters. But come up here as soon as you can.”

He simply nods, but before he leaves.

He takes a quick glance at Okemia who is sitting in one of the chairs, their eyes meet before he turns to the door.

“Tch.” the only words he says before closing it.

Rushing down the 10th floor he senses the flow of Tamaryoku emitting from the 9th and 8th floors.

Bursting open the door, he sees a few of the hired guns laying dead on the floor.

The group he meets is no other than Kino’s group.

Speaking up, Kino covers his face with a mask.

“So you’re the big shot who has to be killed aye? Coming to us alone like this, I’d say you’re quite foolish. Your men aren’t faring well either.”

Hyuganatsu just laughs.

“Ah, I assume you people are SDEJ? From the Government nonetheless.”

“Well if you have any hope of interrupting what is going on here, I am very afraid that your little operation will end here.”

A woman from Kino’s group walks up.

“And what are you going to do? Can’t you see you’re outnumbered from four to one? I hope you know we will wrap up whatever is going on upstairs.”

Kino pulls out weapons before taking a battle stance.

“Moegi stayed clear, despite what he might seem. We shouldn’t mess around with this man, after all we have no actual data on his abilities.”

“So all four of you think I am simple? Well, come forward and try. I am right here aren’t I? You people came here for a reason right?” Hyuganatsu palms his face.

WHRR

The immense pressure he gives off fills the room, but with such control it is contained into the room.

But the presence can still be felt even through other floors.

But this might be dangerous if they’re not careful.

“Lets finish this up! Charge in! Remember to stay vigilant!” He shouts.

Kino’s group rushes at Hyuganatsu each moving in their own different ways to finish him in one decisive attack.

He smiles.

“Careful with yourselves, don’t scrape your skin burning yourself trying to kill me.”

With a single flick off his finger, fire combusts into the air.

The huge torrent of flames engulfs most of the room.

Walking through his flames, he feels a sword pointing at his neck, a gun aimed on top of him and attacks already being thrown at him.

“So, I guess this is it huh?! Maybe you should have done your research before coming in here.”

All of the lights were cut off.

“Kino! Watch out! He has some sort of–”

Trees began to rapidly grow outward from where he stood.

Kino fires his pistol at him, managing to hit his shoulder.

“Everyone! Evade contact!”

It all cuts to black as the entire room is filled with the overgrowth of trees, there were screams, then there were the sounds of struggle.

Then there was silence.

Phasing through the stairs, Masashi hurries to his destination.

Rising up to the 8th floor, Masashi finally reached the 3rd last floor.

Looking around it’s all empty, no.

Something happened here.

BZZT!

Masashi’s earpiece rings once again.

“Masashi! Commander Si here. What is your current location at this moment?”

He is stunned for a moment, only ever expecting Amaiaruheitō to call him.

“I’m on the eighth floor, I’m not sensing any presence of anyone up here. So I guess Kino’s group must have cleared it.”

“Good, but proceed with caution, we have not heard from Kino’s group since. We are heading up regrouping with Shirogane’s group, and we will reach her on the fifth floor.”

“I advise you to be careful, we don’t know what’s going up here–”

The earpiece cuts off a bit.

“But since you’re up there by yourself, there might be something dangerous up there! Proceed wi–” The earpiece cuts off entirely.

Masashi sweats a bit, both from fear and his drive for revenge.

He is unsure what is up here.

As he couldn’t sense it from below, but now, he picks up something really faint.

It’s hard for him to pick up on it, he follows to investigate.

Moving through the somewhat damaged floor, as indicated by walls that seem like they’ve not been maintained.

Moreover this floor seems like a hotel, with various rooms with numbers marked on them.

He stops in his tracks for a bit.

“Wait a minute I can’t sense it anymore?! That could mean…”

Rushing faster and faster towards the fleeting signature, he arrives at a huge area that has been devastated by what a recent battle.

Looking around Masashi can see it’s linked to the main elevator, his eyes widened.

“Is that–” Rushing over he checks on the dead person on the floor.

He shakes his head, knowing very well.

“This person must be from Kino’s group, but… their face is so messed up?! Oh god, where are their legs?” Looking around further he sees the bodies of two other members.

“O-over here.” A weak voice cries out.

Walking towards the voice, he lifts the heavy rubble out of the way.

Revealing Kino himself.

Moving him out of the rubble, he wonders what could have done this?

“H-hey kid, you’re the host of that sovereign right… Ah my bad. This… seems like a bad time to mention that.” He begins to cough up blood.

“Damn. He got us.”

Masashi places him against the wall trying to communicate with the others, at the same time.

“What happened to your team?! Did one of those hired agents wiped you out? Where did he go?” Masashi tries to question Kino.

“Look, he’s probably around here somewhere. I’m not going to lie, I don’t think you stand a chance. He’s not a hired gun…”

Kino pauses for a bit.

“He’s the man himself, Hyuganatsu.”

“Where is he?” Masashi urges.

Kino lifted his trembling hand, pointing toward the front desk.

Looking in that direction Masashi can see the faint flickering of the ceiling lights.

“Hey kid, run… Seriously. For whatever reason he is actually really… Strong.” Kino laughs in the terrible situation he is in.

Getting up Masashi walks towards the main area.

Everything he has ever done so far was to make it towards this goal.

“Well well well, another one came up?” Hyuganatsu’s voice echoes through the area.

Getting up from the chair he walks into the light.

“Wait a minute.”

His eyes opened up for a second before he bursted out laughing.

“No no no. What kind of joke is this? Aren’t you that boy that I crushed days ago during that theater? Were you not yelling at me about ‘your business’ or whatever?”

He continues to laugh but stops suddenly.

“And the real joke is how are YOU even involved in this? Did you run home and cry? And now the government’s here?”

“Because really I am trying to figure out, what do you have to do with all of this? Out of all the surprises tonight I’ll tell you, this is really interesting.”

He spreads his arms out in the air to celebrate something.

“I didn’t know you were involved with the government!” Saying all of this in a sarcastic and joking tone.

Masashi’s eyes sharpen as beads of sweat drip down his head.

“Are you done blabbering yet? And so what if I were involved in this? I don’t think explaining it to you would make sense either.”

Hyuganatsu takes a deep breath.

“I’ll make it simple for you, you leave here, never come back, never remember this night. Maybe you’ll leave with your life?”

He gives a suggestive shrug.

“Or you can just foolishly rush in, please choose a better option really, it’s irritating to see everything go bad today.”

Just him talking ticks Masashi off, he didn’t come just to see the guy talk about the situation.

Even if this situation seems hopeless.

He needs to act.

Hyuganatsu’s aura starts to flare up intensely “If you do not want to leave? Then I’ll wonder how you can make it home tomorrow.”

“I’m sure your mother or father will worry if their child ended up missing or worse gravely injured. Won’t that be sad?”

SSSIWROSSH!

Masashi’s whole body flares up as the intensity of his Tamaryoku begins to rise, streaks of black can be seen in his aura, the intense look on his face.

His eyes sharpen towards him. This chapter is updated first at g.com.

“Oh? You’ve actually gotten this strong in a short amount of time? This makes this even more interesting.”

Turning towards Masashi with intense speed, Hyuganatsu’s eyes glare with intensity.

ZZUNNNNNN!

The full crushing pressure of his is revealing, this time it’s simply not to restrict someone down.

But intense killing intent.

Resisting the intensity, Masashi anchors his chains onto his body, holding his breath still from the oncoming pressure.

Hyuganatsu looks on in awe.

“So you can resist it now?! Aye, I mean those guys never had trouble with it. But YOU, I’m so surprised.”

SWOOSH

Quickly appearing behind Masashi he grins wickedly, “So boy? Tell me how you intend to handle this?”

Turning around with quick precision Masashi strikes at Hyuganatsu with his blade, only for it to be grabbed.

Attempting to kick him away, Masashi’s kick is blocked with a single finger.

Flipping him around, Hyuganatsu slams his body into the floor, sending quakes throughout the floor.

“Urkgh!” Masashi spits out blood as his body receives the intense shockwaves.

But he does not submit, wrapping his chains around Hyuganatsu hands Masashi attempts to kick him.

Flipping out of his kick and landing on the desk, his arms get pulled by Masashi trying to tug him down.

“Oh what are these chains? What a cute ability.” Pulling even harder on the chains, he drags Masashi off his feet.

“KAKOMU!” Masashi yells out.

Chains began to shoot out from the floor, even some parts of the rubble.

Restricting Hyuganatsu entirely.

Getting up and recovering he is glad he spread his Tamaryoku around to let this happen.

Struggling to break out of it, Hyuganatsu is oddly curious.

“My own energy is being restricted? Now this is interesting. This might be difficult, though I doubt these will keep me in place.”

The ghostly chains begin to crack, the more of his power he exerts the more the chains begin to stretch.

Pulling out more chains to restrict him, Masashi desperately tries to keep him in place.

He pulls him to the floor with all of his might.

Masashi looks on with intensity, he can’t believe this monster had even more power.

He is just dragging him along the floor despite the amount of chains.

It’s no wonder Kino’s group had trouble and even suffered heavy losses.

CLZINK!

A huge surge of fire shatters every single chain that was restricting him.

“If his powers are this insane, this is unwinnable.” Masashi looks on with horror.

Appearing behind Masashi once more, Hyuganatsu just laughs.

“Oh please, that is the least amount of things I would have worried about.”

Simply tapping his foot on the floor, a large spear on metal consisting of the concrete on the floor juts out.

Grazing Masashi’s arm, tearing off a part of his sleeve completely.

SWHOOSH!

Aiming for a thunderous kick, Masashi manages to block it.

But his entire body rattles with contact.

“Shit!” Masashi swipes his blade upwards aiming to cut Hyuganatsu.

SLISICH!

For once in this fight he managed to cut him on his leg, causing him to back away.

Hyuganatsu’s face is filled with shock.

“You did good, though it still wasn’t better than that man’s squad.”

Hyuganatsu points his finger at Masashi, shooting a pinpoint torrent of flames toward him.

“AGH?!” he flames singed off Masashi’s chains that were wrapped around his body.

Grabbing his throat he lifts Masashi into the air.

“I’m starting to wonder how Henkōten actually lost to you? because anyone below the 7th floor wouldn’t have made it this far.”

He squeezes his throat more and more.

Flames begin to combust out of the wall, causing a torrent to heat up the area.

Masashi desperately tries to get him off, but being held in the air he can’t really seem to do anything.

“Fuji?!” A voice yells out.

Looking at the hall he sees Okemia standing there.

“What the? Aren’t you supposed to be on the 10th floor? What are you doing down here?! Tch.” He is more frustrated than anything.

Flames continue to burst out covering the entire area.

Just standing there, she sees Masashi being held up by her brother.

Of all places, right now her mind is so wrapped up in everything going on she is just stunned.

A torrent of flames covers Okemia’s direction, the flames narrowly miss her.

Getting to a safe place she peaks over her shoulders only to see the hair on her back had caught on fire.

She hurriedly tries to pat the flames off.

“Shit! Oh no oh no…”

Hyuganatsu looks at her sighing.

“That’s what you get for being down here.” Shifting his head back to Masashi.

“As for you…”

He rushes upward driving Masashi up floor by floor, until they break through the roof.

Throwing Masashi on the other side, his body rolls crashing into a nearby door.

Coughing up blood, Masashi slowly gets up.

“It’s not over….” Not being able to stand up properly and grabbing his neck, he wonders how he thought he could have beaten him.

“You can still stand? Well count your luck, I’ve been wanting to test some of my abilities while I’m at it.” Hyuganatsu cracks his fingers.

He raises his hand up into the air, the sound of something cracking fills the air.

Trees managed to sprout up from the side of the building all jagged and overgrown.

“Grow!”

“Mokkadokinsui.” He waves his hand in the air in an almost symbolic way.

“Look at me, I am going to bury you in one of these trees.”

“If you had just walked out maybe you would have gotten away with one arm missing?” Hyuganatsu strolls towards him, checking his watch while doing so.

Standing up fully Masashi once more ignites his spirit, manifesting his chains on his body this time.

With his tethered clothing and bloodied face.

His determination is somehow still not extinguished.

Despite the circumstances, he is slowly growing.

“So you’re like those types that just keep getting up huh? Wait, was it that girl in the squad I just took out? Ah! It was Moegi.”

He slams his hand into his head and starts grinning.

“She always keeps shouting ‘Don’t fall, don’t give up’. How can she fall if she’s part of the wall?”
