Corporate slave Jake Wilson ended up in the hospital after working overtime yet again. While stuck in a hospital bed, he decided to pass the time with a popular novel: "The Yandere CEO’s Forced Love: The Male Lead Just Wants to Escape".
The author’s prose was sharp, and the story had pulled a huge following into its gripping drama. Yet the more Julian read, the angrier he became.
Slap!
Julian slammed his phone face-down on the nightstand. "I have never seen a male lead who actively looks for ways to ruin his own life like this!"
He usually stuck to power-fantasy stories and had only clicked on this urban romance about a possessive heiress locking a guy up because he ran out of things to read. He figured the male lead would eventually come to his senses and realize how good he had it with the drop-dead gorgeous, powerful CEO.
Instead, halfway through... before the main couple even held hands, the author abruptly axed the book.
The ending? During one of the male lead’s desperate escape attempts, the yandere CEO chased after him, and both were wiped out by an oncoming truck on the highway. End of story. To make matters worse, the author added a note saying that even if the story hadn’t been rushed, the male lead was destined to end up with his "pure" love interest while the heartbroken CEO suffered in agony watching from afar.
"Absolute garbage!" Julian cursed aloud.
This male lead ignored a stunning, athletic, ultra-wealthy, and fiercely devoted CEO just to chase a fake-innocent, "independent" gold-digger who was clearly using him for his money. What kind of twisted logic was that? If a gorgeous, wealthy, powerful heiress took an obsessive liking to him, Julian wouldn’t hesitate—even if she locked him in a golden cage, he’d happily settle down and enjoy the luxury!
BOOM!
A deafening roar split the sky outside. A sudden bolt of lightning shattered the window and hit Julian directly.
As consciousness slipped away, Julian’s last thought was pure confusion: What did I do wrong?! Aside from slacking off at work occasionally, I’m a model citizen! Why lightning?!
When Jake opened his eyes, a throbbing headache hit him like a freight train. He wobbled as he pushed himself up off the cold floor.
[ Ding! ]
A crisp, robotic voice sounded inside his head.
[ Welcome, Host, to the world of "The Yandere CEO’s Forced Love: The Male Lead Just Wants to Escape". ]
Julian blinked. A system? Transmigration?
He had actually been thrown into the very novel he was just cursing out. Getting struck by lightning, crossing into a book, binding to a system—classic trope material. So, did this mean he was the male lead now?
Sure, the male lead had a rough childhood, but once Victoria Sterling took an interest in him, he lived in luxury without ever having to worry about money again. Julian was more than ready to step into those shoes!
"System," Julian asked eagerly, "did I transmigrate into Ethan Mercer?"
[ Host, the character you have bound to in this world is Julian Vance. ]
Julian’s eyes widened in horror. "What?!"
Julian Vance?!
Because the character shared his exact name and met a brutally grim end, Julian remembered him vividly. Julian Vance was the definition of a textbook was extra .
A wave of despair washed over him. Other transmigrators got god-tier cheat abilities and royal status; he got a tragic minor antagonist destined for ruin.as a extra, Even when this character tried to turn dark and seek revenge later in the plot, he failed miserably every time—getting beaten, tortured, stripped of everything, and left to die in disgrace.
Tragic! Absolutely tragic!
[ Host, do not lose heart. Even cannon fodder can rewrite their destiny. ]
[ Ding! New Mission Issued: Enter Hotel Room no 5 and spend the night with Victoria Sterling. ]
Julian paused, narrowing his eyes. Victoria Sterling? The yandere villain heiress herself?
Room no 5... He remembered this scene. In the original plot, this was where the leads first crossed paths. Victoria had been drugged by a business rival, while Ethan, who was working as a hotel server, got drunk and stumbled into the wrong room. Though nothing scandalous actually happened that night, Victoria fell hard for Ethan right after.
Is the system handing him the chance to steal Ethan’s spotlight and claim Victoria for himself?
[ Mission Success Reward: Winning numbers for the upcoming multi-million dollar lottery jackpot. Mission Failure: No penalty. ]
[ Would you like to accept the mission, Host? ]
"Yes!" Julian didn’t hesitate for a second.
He used to daydream about winning the lottery and retiring early back in his old life. Now it was practically handed to him on a silver platter. Only an idiot would say no!
[ Selection confirmed. Host has accepted the mission. Please proceed. ]
Julian marched down the plush hotel corridor toward Room no 5. Just as he approached the door, a stumbling, intoxicated figure swayed out from around the corner.
Julian squinted. No surprise there—it was Ethan Mercer. The male lead.
The hotel’s lower floors were dedicated to fine dining, while the upper floors starting from floor six were luxury guest rooms. In the original timeline, a drunk Ethan pressed the wrong elevator button and accidentally barged into Victoria’s room.
Not today, buddy, Julian thought with a smirk.
"Excuse me, mate," Julian called out, pointing toward the door directly adjacent to Room no 5. "Your assigned room is right over there—Room no 6."
"Oh... right. Thanks, man," the drunken Ethan mumbled, nodding heavily.
Julian grinned. Room 6 was currently occupied by a ruthless local gang boss and his mistress. If Ethan barged in there, he was in for a rude awakening.
Julian turned the handle and slipped quietly into Room no 5.( Our villainess is in room number 5 ok)
Meanwhile, on Eathan side Room no 6.
Since the door hadn’t been latched properly, Ethan stumbled right through the entry hallway.
"Who the hell are you?" a heavily glammed woman in designer clothes asked, scowling as she backed away from the intruder.
"Miss... I’m here to serve you," Ethan slurred, stepping forward unsteadily. "Just tell me what you need..."
He was too drunk to notice the heavily tattooed, burly man standing right beside the bar cart, his expression darkening by the second.
"Babe," the woman whined, ducking behind the burly man. "He’s creeping on me. Get rid of him!"
SLAP!
The man lunged forward, grabbed Ethan by the collar, and delivered a brutal backhand straight across his face.
"You blind piece of garbage! You dare hit on my woman right in front of me?!"
The violent impact instantly cleared the alcohol fog from Ethan’s brain. He fell to the floor, dazed and clutching his burning cheek.
Wait... didn’t I just die in a terrible car crash? Where am I? And why does this hotel room feel so familiar...?
"I’m gonna beat you to a pulp so you learn some damn manners!" the gang boss growled, stepping over him.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Heavy fists rained down on Ethan mercilessly. The man was built like a truck, and in his weakened, confused state, Ethan couldn’t dodge a single blow.
"Gah! Stop—aaargh!" Painful cries echoed down the hallway.
A minute later, a battered, bruised, and bleeding Ethan was kicked outright into the corridor.
