By nine o’clock the following morning, Victoria had already left for corporate headquarters to manage her business empire.
Julian stretched lazily as he got out of bed. Today was Monday, and it was time to put his system-granted thirty-day stock projection to work.
Combining his multi-million-dollar lottery winnings with the seven million dollars he had squeezed out of Elenor Vance, he had tens of millions ready to deploy into the stock market. Since his personal trading account was newly opened, he needed a high-tier securities manager to execute his rapid trades.
"Butler Chen," Julian asked over breakfast, "do we have a spare vehicle? I need to head into the financial district."
"Of course, Master Vance. Please follow me."
After Julian finished his meal, Butler Chen escorted him down into the estate’s subterranean garage.
Stepping into the vault-like space, Julian stood rooted to the spot, his mouth hanging open in complete awe.
In his previous world before transmigrating, he was a broke college student who couldn’t even dream of owning an entry-level sedan. But every man loved high-performance engineering, and he knew these hypercars on sight: a Koenigsegg One:1, a Lamborghini Veneno, a Pagani Huayra...
A single row in this garage was worth over a hundred million dollars.
Julian swallowed hard, turning to the butler. "Butler Chen... are all of these Victoria’s?"
"No, Master Vance. They are all yours," Butler Chen replied with a respectful smile.
"Mine?" Julian pointed to himself in utter disbelief. "Butler Chen, I definitely don’t have the funds to buy a fleet of hypercars."
Butler Chen produced a leather key display along with a sleek black card. "Miss Sterling had all these vehicles registered directly under your name as a gift. She also prepared this black card for you—it has no spending limit, and the PIN is set to your birthday."
Julian took the card, feeling like he was living in an absurd dream.
Is this what it feels like to be pampered by a mega-wealthy heiress? I have to admit, this lifestyle is absolutely incredible.
Pulling out his smartphone, Julian sent a quick text message to Victoria:
[ Victoria, I love the cars and the black card. Thank you. ]
He added a small red heart emoji at the end.
Over at the Sterling Group headquarters, Victoria was reviewing quarterly acquisition files when her phone buzzed. Seeing the message and the tiny heart emoji, a rare, breathtaking smile softened her cold features.
She typed a simple reply: [ Mm. ]
Setting her phone down, Victoria looked at her chief secretary. "Evelyn, your salary and annual performance bonus will be doubled starting this month."
Evelyn froze, completely bewildered. "President Sterling... may I ask what prompted this generous bonus?"
Victoria’s smile remained faint yet radiantly warm. "Julian really likes the luxury fleet and the black card I prepared for him."
Evelyn instantly understood. It all comes down to Master Vance again! He truly is the ultimate power backer in this city!
"Evelyn," Victoria added calmly, "procure some specific reference literature for my study."
"What genre, President Sterling?"
Victoria replied smoothly, "Comprehensive guides on advanced physical intimacy and romantic positions. Ensure they use artistic diagrams rather than explicit photography."
Evelyn: "!!!"
If she hadn’t witnessed Victoria’s complete transformation over the past week, she would have sworn her icy, terrifying boss had been possessed by an entirely different person.
"Understood," Dr. Song nodded politely.
As a high-paid specialist, her role was to execute her duties without asking unnecessary questions. However, she couldn’t help but wonder why Victoria had called for her at nine in the evening—usually, the corporate heiress only summoned her at one or two in the morning when the dark insomnia became completely unbearable.
Inside the master suite, absolute silence reigned. Victoria lay on the king-sized bed, her dark, restless eyes staring at the ceiling.
Dr. Song set up a small speaker playing soft, soothing ambient rain sounds, then held up an antique silver pocket watch. "President Sterling, please focus your eyes on this pocket watch and listen closely to my voice. You don’t need to respond—just close your eyes whenever you feel heavy."
She began her rhythmic hypnotic suggestions.
Outside the suite doors, Julian approached the hallway, pausing in confusion as he found Butler Chen standing guard. "Butler Chen, why are you waiting out here?"
"Master Vance, please wait a moment before entering," Butler Chen explained softly. "A hypnotherapist is currently assisting Miss Sterling with her insomnia."
Julian frowned slightly. Ever since he transmigrated, Victoria fell asleep almost instantly whenever she lay beside him. He had completely forgotten that the original character suffered from severe, crippling insomnia.
Inside the room, Victoria’s hyper-sensitive hearing caught the low cadence of Julian’s voice in the hallway. Her eyes snapped open.
"Come in, Julian," she called out.
Julian pushed the heavy mahogany doors open and stepped inside. Dr. Song looked up in surprise—who is this? A new hypnotherapist President Sterling hired?
"Come here," Victoria murmured softly.
From the moment Julian entered the room, her gaze never left his face. Julian walked over and sat on the edge of the mattress. Without a word, Victoria leaned over and rested her head comfortably on his lap.
Dr. Song’s jaw practically dropped to the floor. Holy crap... President Sterling has a boyfriend?!
What happened next shocked the therapist even more. Within mere minutes of resting against Julian, Victoria’s tense breathing slowed into a steady, peaceful rhythm. Her eyes closed, and she drifted into a deep sleep.
Previously, it took Dr. Song at least an hour of intense hypnotic induction to give Victoria even a sliver of rest!
Noticing her peaceful expression, Julian softly addressed the therapist. "Doctor, she’s asleep now. You may head out."
"Ah... yes, of course," Dr. Song whispered, quickly packing her equipment before stepping out into the corridor.
Butler Chen looked at her in surprise. "Finished so quickly?"
"Butler Chen," Dr. Song said, a gentle smile touching her lips, "President Sterling fell asleep almost immediately after that gentleman sat beside her. Does she always rest this easily around him?"
"Yes," Butler Chen nodded warmly. "The other day, Miss Sterling fell asleep just leaning against Master Vance’s shoulder."
"In that case, I don’t think President Sterling needs my services anymore," Dr. Song noted. "Master Vance himself is the cure for her insomnia. As long as he stays by her side, her condition will naturally heal."
Butler Chen’s heart brimmed with relief. Victoria’s volatile mood swings and severe insomnia had plagued her for years. Now that Julian was here, both issues were resolving themselves effortlessly.
I must ensure Master Vance is treated like absolute royalty, Butler Chen resolved secretly. If he ever ran away, Miss Sterling’s world would completely collapse.
