It seems almost the entire village is gathered around a dilapidated cottage. Two village guards, dressed in the livery of the Earl of Goodbarley, flank an emaciated figure with a pale face and a hooked nose. The crowd is hurling insults at the prisoner.
You inquire with one of the furious peasants, who explains that this man has a reputation for being a sinister sorcerer, probably responsible for the disappearance of a dozen villagers and some animals this month. A little further on, villagers are piling herbs and bundles of sticks around a post erected for the occasion. There's a whiff of a sorcerer barbecue in the air.
