Inside the elevator.

Leng Shaoting glanced at his special assistant, Fu Cheng. “Did someone call me?”

Fu Cheng looked bewildered and answered carefully, “Quite a few employees greeted you.”Full novel: Young Master Leng, Your Wife Has Run Away with the Children — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Naturally. Everyone who saw him respectfully addressed him as President Leng.

And yet Leng Shaoting had heard someone in the crowd call out, “A-Ting.”

His gaze turned cold. He soon dismissed the strange feeling and motioned for Fu Cheng to continue his work report.

No one at the company would dare address him that way.

He had probably misheard, or it was just a coincidence.

Outside the elevator.

Hearing the person beside her, Xia Anxin murmured, “President Leng?”

The other person looked shocked. “Our Yunzhou president, President Leng! Are you new here? Don’t tell me you’ve never even heard of President Leng…”

The voice was loud enough that several people nearby turned to look at Xia Anxin.

Xia Anxin came to her senses with a start and said awkwardly, “Sorry, I mistook someone else for him. Thanks for letting me know.”

After thanking the person, she hurried to the back of the line to wait for the elevator.

Xia Anxin lowered her eyes, trying hard to suppress the strange feeling in her heart.

She kept seeing the wrong person, thinking A-Ting had come back for her.

But every time she rushed over and saw his face, she realized he was nothing like the man in her memories.

This hadn’t happened in a long time.

She’d thought she was finally able to let him go.

It had been almost four years. It was time to move on.

Xia Anxin gathered herself and soon reported to Human Resources.

Back then, because of the child, she hadn’t been able to finish university. When she joined Yunzhou’s branch office, her looks had made it so difficult for her to get a sales position that she’d had to work hard just to beg for one.

Fortunately, she had proved her ability through hard work.

Now that she was back at headquarters, she had no resources at all. She would have to start from scratch again.

Xia Anxin let out a long breath. She soon completed the onboarding process, and an HR colleague took her to her workstation in the Marketing Department.

After briefly greeting her colleagues, Xia Anxin got up to use the restroom.

As soon as she came out, she saw a little boy by the restroom door and froze.

“Nuonuo?! What are you doing here?!”

Leng Xingyang, whom she had called “Nuonuo,” stared at her blankly and reflexively repeated the name she’d used. “Nuonuo?”

After meeting a child at the station yesterday who looked exactly like him, Leng Xingyang couldn’t help turning the matter over in his little head.

How could something that coincidental happen? As far as he knew, only twins looked exactly alike.

But he had never heard that he had a twin brother.

Leng Xingyang had been thinking about how to find the child from yesterday. He hadn’t expected to run into the woman who’d been with him at the company today.

Since Xia Anxin always wore a mask, he couldn’t be sure it was the same person, so he had secretly followed her to find out.

But now, as Xia Anxin pulled him into her arms, he was certain.

It was her!

When “Nuonuo” just stood there blankly instead of rushing over to hug her and act spoiled as usual, Xia Anxin felt even more overwhelmed by guilt.

Without thinking, she pulled down her mask and held him close, lowering her head to kiss his forehead.

A warm, soft touch brushed his forehead. Leng Xingyang stared at her in disbelief, then raised a hand to cover the spot.

But what shocked him even more was…

Though Xia Anxin moved quickly, he had still seen it: a large, dark birthmark covered part of her face!

It was ugly!

He had an intense cleanliness obsession; by now, he should have pushed her away.

Yet Leng Xingyang let her kiss and hold him. Looking into her eyes, seeing the sincere apology and love there, he actually felt happy and warm.

Xia Yinuo had always been far more sensible than most children his age, and he was full of little schemes. Xia Anxin had never kept her workplace a secret from him.

Seeing him come to the company, she only worried that something might be upsetting him.

She soothed him gently, her voice turning almost pleading as she said, “Sweetheart, are you still having trouble adjusting to the city? It’s all Mommy’s fault. I was in such a hurry to come back this time. I should have spent a few more days with you before starting work. As soon as I get a day off, I’ll take you out to have fun. Forgive Mommy and wait just a few more days, okay?”

She held the child tightly and gazed at him with tenderness and love.

“Mommy…” Leng Xingyang murmured, staring at her blankly.

He did have a mommy.

But that woman was a big star on television, and she only saw him once a year, on his birthday.

On the rare occasions she held him, her unfamiliar movements always hurt him.

She had never looked at him so tenderly, either. All she offered was fake affection meant to please him.

He didn’t mind this woman’s kisses and hugs at all. In fact, he was starting to love them.

But… how could anyone have two mommies?
