Shao Kunye stopped walking.“Why are you following me?”

Wen Xi hugged Wen Liyang tightly in her arms and said nothing.

Shao Kunye was too lazy to deal with her and took the elevator downstairs.Full novel: Young Master Shao, The Police Reported You Have a Son! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

However, after a short while, that familiar feeling of being followed closely appeared again.

When he turned around, sure enough, that one big and one small figure had followed him again, like little dogs tracking a scent.

The moment Wen Xi saw him look over, she immediately stopped walking and kept a distance that was neither too close nor too far.

As if doing that could hide her intentions.

Unfortunately, every thought she had was practically written across her face. Shao Kunye raised his eyebrow.

“What? You want to come back with me?”

Wen Xi lowered her head, revealing a small section of her pale neck. Her thin fingers nervously tugged at the corner of her clothes.

It was a small habit she had whenever she felt embarrassed and helpless.

Shao Kunye curled his lips in mockery.“We only slept once, and you already want to cling to me?”

Wen Xi’s voice was as soft as a mosquito buzzing.“If I go back to the Jiang Family, they’ll sell Liyang and me.”

Shao Kunye said coldly, “What does that have to do with me? Is that my problem?”

Wen Xi bit her lip.

The little patience Shao Kunye had left had already been exhausted back in the room. All that remained was the cold cruelty inside him.

“Stop following me. Otherwise I’ll send you to Chen Jinpeng. He didn’t get to enjoy you yesterday, he’s probably still thinking about you.”

When Wen Xi heard this, her face immediately turned pale. Sure enough, when Shao Kunye walked toward the roadside, she didn’t dare follow him anymore.

Shao Kunye got into the car and told Han Tao to drive.

Han Tao glanced at Wen Xi and her son standing outside the car. When he withdrew his gaze, he met those dark eyes in the rearview mirror.

Han Tao paused briefly before starting the car and driving away.

In the rearview mirror, Wen Xi stood there holding Wen Liyang’s hand, staring in the direction the car was leaving. As the car drove farther and farther away, the two figures gradually shrank into small dots.

Shao Kunye closed his eyes, but Wen Xi’s pitiful expression appeared in his mind again.

Damn it.

Why would he pity someone who had drugged him?

Just as the car was about to pass a corner, Han Tao suddenly spoke.

“Young Master Shao.”

Tsk.

Shao Kunye opened his eyes impatiently and saw that the car had stopped at a zebra crossing.

“Don’t you even know how to drive now?”

“It’s the Jiang Family,” Han Tao said, his gaze fixed on the left rearview mirror.

Shao Kunye followed his line of sight and saw several members of the Jiang Family appear at the hotel entrance. They were grabbing Wen Xi and Wen Liyang and trying to drag them away.

Wen Xi struggled fiercely. She looked so thin that it seemed a gust of wind could blow her over.

Shao Kunye suddenly remembered the scars he had seen on Wen Xi’s body that morning, as well as the image of her jumping from the balcony without hesitation.

That familiar irritation surfaced again.

If she was taken back by the Jiang Family, Jiang Songde would probably send her to some other man in exchange for profit.

He had spent five million.

He certainly hadn’t spent it just to benefit someone else.

“Turn back,” Shao Kunye ordered.

At that moment outside the hotel, Jiang Songde was ordering someone to take Wen Xi back.

Early that morning he had received an anonymous message saying Wen Xi was currently at the hotel, and Wen Liyang had also been rescued. The two of them were preparing to escape.

Although he didn’t know who had done it, Jiang Songde couldn’t just watch Wen Xi leave.

He had to capture her first and figure things out later.

However, Wen Xi struggled violently. She looked like a one-month-old puppy being dragged onto a truck by dog traffickers, crying helplessly.

“Let go of me! I’m not going back!”

Some passersby had already begun looking over. Jiang Songde’s face darkened as he told the bodyguards to hurry.

Just as they were about to force Wen Xi into the car, she suddenly stopped struggling and stared blankly behind Jiang Songde.

Jiang Songde turned around in confusion.

When he saw who it was, cold sweat immediately broke out across his back.

“Sh-Young Master Shao?”

“What are you doing here?”

Shao Kunye had a cigarette between his lips.

“I should be the one asking you that, President Jiang. What are you doing here?”

Jiang Songde swallowed nervously and forced himself to remain calm.

“I came to take Wen Xi back.”

Shao Kunye raised an eyebrow.

“What a coincidence. I came to take her away too.”

Jiang Songde froze.

“What?”

Shao Kunye glanced at Wen Xi and curled his lips coldly.

“She caused me to lose five million yesterday. Naturally, I need her to compensate me.”

Wen Xi looked at him in shock.

Just a moment ago he had told her not to follow him.

Jiang Songde was stunned.“Five million?!”

How had Wen Xi gotten involved with Shao Kunye and ended up owing him so much money?

Shao Kunye slipped one hand into his pocket.

“President Jiang doesn’t mind if I take her away, does he?”

Cold sweat continued to appear on Jiang Songde’s forehead.

“Well… that might not be appropriate. After all, she belongs to the Jiang Family.”

Shao Kunye raised an eyebrow.

“In that case, President Jiang can pay the five million she owes me. Then you can take her back.”

Sweat rolled down Jiang Songde’s temple.

He wasn’t stupid. How could he possibly spend that much money to cover Wen Xi’s debt?

But if Shao Kunye took her away, things might become troublesome.

“Does President Jiang have any other objections?” Shao Kunye asked lazily.

Jiang Songde snapped back to his senses.

“N-no.”

Shao Kunye curled his lips.

“Since there’s no objection, I’ll take her.”

He turned his head and saw Wen Xi still standing there in a daze, staring at him with wide eyes as if she hadn’t processed what had just happened.

“What are you standing there for?” Shao Kunye said. “Let’s go.”

Wen Xi finally snapped out of it and hurriedly grabbed Wen Liyang’s hand, following behind Shao Kunye as they got into the car.

Jiang Songde watched the departing vehicle with an extremely ugly expression before turning and getting into his own car.

At the Jiang Family villa, Fan Xuezhen and Jiang Tinglu were waiting in the living room.

When they saw that only Jiang Songde had returned, they exchanged glances.

“Old Jiang, where’s Wen Xi?”

Jiang Songde sat on the sofa with a dark face.

“Young Master Shao took her away.”

“Young Master Shao?!”

Jiang Tinglu raised her voice sharply, reacting strongly.

“Why would Young Master Shao take her away?”

“If you ask me, I want to know too!” Jiang Songde said irritably. “When I went to the hotel to pick up Wen Xi, Shao Kunye was there. He said Wen Xi owed him five million and that he was taking her away as compensation!”

Fan Xuezhen frowned.

“Why would Wen Xi suddenly owe Shao Kunye so much money?”

What she didn’t say out loud was: why had Shao Kunye been there?

Hadn’t he already returned to West Coast City?

Jiang Songde’s expression remained dark.

“Young Master Shao didn’t say. Anyway, he took her away.”

Jiang Tinglu stomped her foot unwillingly.

“Dad, you just let him take Wen Xi like that?”

Jiang Songde glanced at her sideways.

“Otherwise? Are you going to pay the five million for her?”

Besides, it wasn’t just about the money. Offending Shao Kunye was far worse than losing five million.

Jiang Tinglu fell silent.

They had finally gotten the chance to get rid of Wen Xi, yet she had been taken away by Shao Kunye.

Thinking about that man’s outstanding looks and figure, Jiang Tinglu felt even more unwilling.

Why had he chosen Wen Xi instead of her?

What part of her was worse than Wen Xi?

Fan Xuezhen suddenly thought of something.

“What about Wen Liyang?”

The moment this was mentioned, Jiang Songde’s face darkened further.

“That trafficker called me earlier and said a man came this morning and took Wen Liyang away. When I arrived, Wen Liyang was already with Wen Xi.”

That man was most likely Han Tao.

Fan Xuezhen and Jiang Tinglu exchanged glances.

So Shao Kunye already knew they had tried to sell Wen Xi and her son?

Jiang Songde seemed to realize the same thing. He became restless and walked out into the courtyard to make a phone call to Chen Jinpeng.

After several rings, the call was finally answered.

Chen Jinpeng’s lazy voice came through the phone.

Jiang Songde said ingratiatingly, “President Chen, it’s me.”

After recognizing his voice, Chen Jinpeng sneered.

“President Jiang, you’re getting more and more capable. You even dared to send Young Master Shao’s woman to me. Are you trying to get me killed?”

Jiang Songde’s palms began sweating.

“President Chen, how could I possibly harm you? I had no idea she was related to Young Master Shao!”

Chen Jinpeng snorted coldly.

Jiang Songde carefully asked, “Then about the favor I asked you for…”

“What do you think?” Chen Jinpeng interrupted. “I didn’t even get to sleep with her. How could I help you find out anything?”

Jiang Songde was left speechless.

Chen Jinpeng had no patience to continue.

“Our cooperation is canceled. Don’t contact me again.”

The call ended.

Looking at the disconnected phone, Jiang Songde regretted everything bitterly.

Not only had he failed to get the information he wanted, Wen Xi had also been taken away by Shao Kunye.

If he had known things would turn out like this, he would have handled it himself earlier.

Jiang Songde tried to comfort himself.

Shao Kunye probably only had a physical relationship with Wen Xi. Perhaps after a while he would send her back.

Thinking this way, Jiang Songde felt slightly relieved.

However, Wen Xi’s existence was still like a ticking time bomb.

He needed to find a way to get rid of her as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the car drove along the road in silence.

Han Tao glanced at the back seat through the rearview mirror.

Shao Kunye had his eyes closed, his long legs resting against the center console. Wen Xi sat pressed tightly against the car door, holding Wen Liyang in her arms, barely daring to breathe loudly.

Han Tao withdrew his gaze and continued driving.

“Thank you,” Wen Xi suddenly said, breaking the silence.

Shao Kunye leaned lazily against the seat.

“Don’t thank me too early. At the next intersection, you can get out.”

Wen Xi’s watery eyes widened.

Even Han Tao looked slightly surprised.

He had thought that letting Wen Xi get into the car meant Shao Kunye planned to take her with him.

Half of Wen Xi’s heart went cold. The nervous tension returned to her again.

“Please don’t chase Liyang and me away,” she pleaded. “I… I can do anything.”

Shao Kunye mocked her.

“What can you do?”

Wen Xi hurriedly replied, “I can wash clothes and cook. I can also work as a housekeeper.”

Shao Kunye sneered.

“You think I can’t afford a housekeeper?”

Wen Xi felt utterly humiliated and lowered her head.

Someone like Shao Kunye obviously didn’t lack money to hire servants. She had no advantage at all.

Biting her lip in embarrassment, she said softly, “I… I can also do that.”

Shao Kunye looked at her.

Wen Xi’s face had flushed red with shame, and her eyelashes trembled slightly.

“I’m very clean,” she said. “No one else has touched me.”

A malicious thought rose in Shao Kunye’s mind. He grabbed her chin.

“You want to be my bed partner?”

Wen Xi instinctively covered Wen Liyang’s ears and looked at Shao Kunye with slight reproach, as if saying he shouldn’t speak so directly in front of a child.

Shao Kunye snorted coldly and twisted his hand, turning Wen Liyang’s head away.

Then he leaned forward, almost pressing Wen Xi against the car door.

“It would be better to find a woman outside. Any random one would serve better than you.”

Wen Xi’s hoarse voice was barely audible.

“I can learn.”

Summoning her courage, she reached out and grabbed the sleeve of his suit.

“You can make me do anything. Please don’t drive Liyang and me away.”

Shao Kunye’s voice was calm and cruel.

“You schemed against me and drugged me. Not only did I not pursue the matter, I even spent so much money to rescue you from Chen Jinpeng. Haven’t I already done more than enough?”

Wen Xi couldn’t say a single word in response.

Clearly, she also believed Shao Kunye had already done more than enough.

By then, the car had already stopped by the roadside.

Shao Kunye leaned back in his seat again.

“No matter what you say, it’s useless. Get out.”

Wen Liyang puffed up angrily.

“Mom, he’s a bad guy! We don’t need to live with him. Let’s go!”

Seeing that Shao Kunye had no intention of changing his mind, Wen Xi slowly lowered her head.

After a long while, she pushed open the car door and stepped out with Wen Liyang.

The moment she got out of the car—

Bang!

The door slammed shut.

Wen Xi’s thin shoulders trembled slightly.

“What are you waiting for? Drive,” Shao Kunye said, kicking the seat in front of him impatiently at Han Tao’s hesitation.

The car had only moved a few meters forward when a sharp childish cry suddenly rang out from outside.

“Mom!”

“SCREEECH—”

Han Tao slammed on the brakes. The car jolted violently.

When he looked up, he met the murderous gaze in the rearview mirror.

Han Tao swallowed nervously.

“I’m sorry, Young Master Shao.”

A vein throbbed on Shao Kunye’s forehead. He suppressed the urge to kick Han Tao out of the car and turned to look out the window.

Wen Xi had collapsed onto the ground.

She had already fainted.
