Wen Xi’s eyes could not adjust to the sudden brightness.

The hood on her head had been removed, and the glaring light forced her eyelashes to quiver.

Since being dragged into the van an hour ago, Wen Xi had been transported to this place. After being thrown out of the vehicle, the people left, leaving her alone in the pitch-black factory.Full novel: Young Master Shao, The Police Reported You Have a Son! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

At that moment, distinct footsteps echoed from the doorway.

As the factory door opened, a familiar figure approached.

“Uncle Jiang.”

Her voice was hoarse, as if she had swallowed sand.

Jiang Songde crouched down before her with a smile. “Wen Xi, hope you’ve been well.”

Wen Xi’s complicated, beautiful eyes stared at him. “You were the one who had me kidnapped?”

It was not a question—it was a statement.

Jiang Songde spoke earnestly. “I had no choice. Since you wouldn’t behave, I had to use this method.”

In truth, he had wanted to act much earlier, but investigating Shao Kunye’s residence took time. Plus, Wen Xi stayed in the villa every day, so only today did he finally have the opportunity.

Wen Xi’s lips were dry, and the long period of mental tension had left her weak. “I really don’t know where the chip is. My father never told me.”

Jiang Songde clearly did not believe her. “Your dad only has you, his daughter. If he didn’t tell you, who else could he tell?”

“I really don’t know.” Wen Xi’s lashes quivered. “Father never talks business with me. Even if he did, I wouldn’t understand.”

Her expression did not suggest lying. Jiang Songde, having raised Wen Xi all these years, knew her courage was smaller than a rabbit’s. Even a raised voice could send her fleeing.

Could it be that Wen Xi truly didn’t know the details?

He hesitated for a moment, then recalled that they had ransacked her home before, finding no trace of the chip. And Wen Xi was Wen Weinan’s only daughter—maybe she was pretending not to know.

After all, the chip’s contents were highly confidential.

The fleeting doubt passed, and Jiang Songde’s tone remained gentle. “You know the family has been in trouble recently. The police raided our factory, and now the household has no income. As a member, shouldn’t you help?”

Wen Xi suddenly said, “Haven’t you already taken my parents’ inheritance? Isn’t that enough?”

Jiang Songde’s brows furrowed. “What did you say?”

Wen Xi stared at him, her normally soft, innocent face now utterly cold. “My parents left me a fortune. Even if the Jiang Family never worked again, it would be enough to feed you for generations.”

Jiang Songde’s expression changed quickly.

He had thought Wen Xi knew nothing. That had made it easy for him to have her sign the transfer contract back then.

But she had known all along.

“When did you find out?” Jiang Songde’s voice turned cold, tinged with killing intent.

Wen Xi said nothing. Her clear, bottomless eyes seemed to look straight into his heart, leaving him strangely unsettled.

He recalled Jiang Tinglu claiming that Wen Xi had intentionally collided with the knife before. At the time, he had not believed it.

Could it be that Wen Xi had really been faking it?

Regardless of when she had discovered the truth, since she now knew, Jiang Songde no longer needed to pretend. “In any case, today you must tell me where the chip is.”

“If you behave and tell Uncle, I can let you go. But if you don’t, don’t blame me for being harsh.”

Wen Xi closed her eyes, lips pale, but repeated her words. “I really don’t know where the chip is. Even if you kill me, I won’t know.”

“Dad, why are you nagging her?”

A displeased voice sounded from the doorway. Jiang Tinglu crossed her arms and stepped inside, glancing at Wen Xi on the ground like she was trash. “I already told you she was faking before, but you didn’t believe me!”

Jiang Songde frowned. “Didn’t I tell you to wait outside?”

Jiang Tinglu snorted. “Dad, how long do you think you’ll keep asking before you get the chip?”

Jiang Songde’s brow twitched. “What do you intend to do?”

A sly smile flickered on Jiang Tinglu’s lips. “People like this are just stubborn. Once they get a lesson, they’ll talk.”

She clapped her hands, and several burly men entered, covered in tattoos and scars.

Jiang Songde understood her intent, frowning slightly.

He had planned to scare Wen Xi, but seeing her earlier fearless demeanor, threats might really be ineffective.

If Wen Liyang were here, things would be easier—but Wen Xi hadn’t brought him.

Regardless, Wen Xi could not return. Otherwise, it would implicate the Jiang Family. And if Shao Kunye learned about the chip, even Jiang Songde wouldn’t escape the consequences.

So Jiang Songde silently approved Jiang Tinglu’s plan.

As long as they extracted the chip’s location, the method didn’t matter.

Jiang Tinglu crouched before Wen Xi, towering over her. “Living well with Young Master Shao, huh?”

Judging from Wen Xi’s flushed face and slight charm at the corners of her eyes, her life had been indulgent.

The thought of Wen Xi spending every day with Shao Kunye drove Jiang Tinglu insane with jealousy.

Why was she inferior to Wen Xi?

Wen Xi looked at her. “At least it’s better than with the Jiang Family.”

“I knew it! You shamelessly seduced Young Master Shao!” Jiang Tinglu, red with shame and anger, grabbed Wen Xi’s face. “Otherwise, how could he look at someone like you?”

Her sharp nails almost pierced her delicate skin, yet Wen Xi seemed oblivious. “Yes, even someone like me attracts Young Master Shao, but not you. Does that mean you’re even worse than me?”

“Slap—”

Jiang Tinglu struck her across the face, chest heaving. “Fine. Let’s see how long you can gloat!”

She turned to the men behind her. “This one’s yours. Stop only when she tells.”

The men’s eyes gleamed with greed as they looked at Wen Xi—fair-skinned and beautiful like a flower.

None had expected today’s target to be so delicate and lovely.

Jiang Tinglu stepped aside. The men pounced like starving wolves, eager to consume the tender flesh before them.

Wen Xi closed her eyes, holding back nausea, biting her lips nearly to bleeding.

Countless hands tore at her clothes, clinging to her body like slimy snakes, churning her stomach.

Just a little longer…

Her hand secretly clutched a small knife inside her sleeve, pain spreading through her palm.

Jiang Tinglu watched, delight impossible to hide.

Just as the men began to undo their belts, about to fully take her, a loud “BANG” echoed from the factory door.

The sudden impact startled everyone.

The factory gate burst open, and a black Land Rover rammed inside, knocking over shelves and kicking up dust.

“Screeech—”

With a harsh brake, the Land Rover stopped in the center.

A tall figure emerged, headlights outlining broad shoulders, narrow waist, and defined muscles.

As the man slowly approached, Shao Kunye’s face was fully revealed to all present.
