In the living room, Shao Kunye lounged lazily, legs propped on the table. He noticed Jiang Songde speaking to Wen Xi. “Go pour two glasses of water.”

The tone was completely that of a servant.

Wen Xi seemed accustomed to it. She nodded lightly and took Wen Liyang to the kitchen.Full novel: Young Master Shao, The Police Reported You Have a Son! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Inside the kitchen, Wen Xi moved about efficiently, while Wen Liyang obediently helped as her little assistant. Mother and son worked in quiet harmony.

They even looked like children themselves, Wen Xi still youthful and Wen Liyang just a little kid.

They didn’t look like mother and son at all; more like siblings.

“Young Master Shao, have you considered what I mentioned last time?”

Hearing Jiang Songde’s voice, Shao Kunye drew his gaze back, slouching casually on the sofa. “President Jiang, I’m not interested in playing house with you. Your volume isn’t enough—go back to your old business.”

Previously, receiving no response, Jiang Songde had guessed that Shao Kunye found his small-scale business unworthy.

But Bremelanotide was a banned substance. No one could supply such a large quantity at once except Shao Kunye.

The Jiang Family’s products had already hit the market, receiving positive feedback. Selling nationwide would yield significant profits.

Jiang Songde lowered his voice. “Young Master Shao, last time was just the initial market launch. This time, the quantity is far larger.”

Shao Kunye finally looked at him directly. “How much do you want?”

Jiang Songde held up five fingers. “Fifty kilograms.”

Now that was interesting.

Shao Kunye raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Fifty kilos… and you plan to use it for what?”

Jiang Songde had to be honest with Shao Kunye if he wanted the goods. “Young Master Shao, to be frank, it’s for ‘Liaoyuan’.”

Han Tao’s eyes flickered. He glanced at Shao Kunye.

“Liaoyuan” was a recently circulating banned substance. Politely, it was an aphrodisiac; harshly, it was a dangerous drug.

Just one pill could cloud the mind and burn the body.

Its effects were so potent that it became priceless overnight on the black market.

So Jiang Songde was the mastermind behind it.

Shao Kunye’s expression didn’t change, but his eyes darkened with an unreadable coldness. “Liaoyuan?”

Jiang Songde, thinking Shao Kunye might be interested, eagerly said, “Young Master Shao, if you like, I can give you some as a gift.”

At that moment, a fair-skinned arm came into view.

Wen Xi squatted by the marble table, quietly setting the glasses down in front of the group. Her sweat-soaked T-shirt clung to her waist, revealing the subtle indentation of her figure.

From Shao Kunye’s angle, he could see her long, pale, slender legs beneath the glass table. As she squatted, her shorts rode up slightly, exposing a small strip of white underwear.

When Wen Xi looked up, her eyes met Shao Kunye’s dark gaze. That icy, constricting sensation, like a venomous snake wrapping around her, crawled up to her feet again.

Her hand trembled unconsciously, spilling most of the water.

Fan Xuezhen scolded, “You can’t even pour tea properly. What else can you do?”

Jiang Songde instinctively glanced at Shao Kunye. Seeing no reaction, he frowned. “Alright, go downstairs. Don’t block the way here.”

Wen Xi seemed ready to leave anyway. Hearing Jiang Songde’s words, she hurriedly led Wen Liyang out of the living room.

Like a little rabbit slipping away on slick feet.

Shao Kunye lightly tapped the armrest with his fingers, following the fleeing figures with his gaze into the yard.

Wen Xi had no awareness of being watched. She squatted, face stern, talking to Wen Liyang.

Wen Liyang hung his head, listless.

Even without listening, Shao Kunye could guess she was scolding him for sneaking off to West Coast City to find Shao Kunye.

He curved a faint smile, suddenly curious what Wen Xi was saying to Wen Liyang.

“Young Master Shao, don’t mind us. This is our Jiang Family’s adopted daughter,” Jiang Songde explained. “She’s usually clumsy and her nerves are as small as a rabbit’s.”

Shao Kunye’s gaze turned back to Jiang Songde. “Adopted daughter?”

“We knew her parents before. After they passed, I took pity on her and adopted her,” Jiang Songde said. “As for that little boy, he’s her son.”

Fan Xuezhen sneered, “No idea whose child she carried. By the time it was discovered, she was five months along. Couldn’t abort, so she had to give birth.”

Han Tao instinctively glanced at Shao Kunye’s reaction.

He still appeared indifferent, as if the child wasn’t his.

Shao Kunye gave Wen Xi a sidelong glance in the yard.

It seemed the little liar at least hadn’t lied about having a child.

He found Jiang Songde’s remark about her nerves being small amusing.

She wasn’t that timid.

“Dad, Mom, I’m back!”

A sweet, clear voice rang from the doorway. A woman in a tight pencil skirt with a hot figure stepped in.

As she entered, Jiang Tinglu noticed the unfamiliar man in the living room.

His collar was open, sleeves casually rolled up, revealing firm, powerful arms. He lounged on the sofa, sunlight glinting on him, exuding a noble laziness.

A flicker of awe appeared in Jiang Tinglu’s eyes.

It was her first time seeing such a handsome man, especially one with such casual, unrestrained charm.

Seeing her frozen, Jiang Songde cleared his throat. “Lulu, come greet him. This is Young Master Shao.”

Jiang Tinglu came back to herself, attention immediately drawn to the words “Young Master Shao.”

Could this really be Shao Kunye?

She had heard Jiang Songde talk about business at home and knew Shao Kunye was a figure of absolute power in West Coast City, controlling nearly all the gray-market raw materials nationwide.

She had imagined him as a fat, pig-like man, but now saw he was strikingly handsome.

Jiang Tinglu instinctively adjusted her hair and walked up to him. “Hello, Young Master Shao.”

Her sweet perfume wafted through the air as she approached.

Shao Kunye lightly tapped the armrest, recalling the faint scent of shower gel and baby powder on Wen Xi earlier.

“Dad is discussing business with Young Master Shao. You go upstairs first,” Jiang Songde said to Jiang Tinglu.

He had heard that many women surrounded Shao Kunye, and with his precious daughter now grown so beautifully, it was better to avoid potential trouble.

Jiang Tinglu, seemingly oblivious, pouted. “Dad, there are guests here. Would it be rude if I just left? I’ll stay and keep you company.”

Jiang Songde furrowed his brow.

Previously, when he asked her to stay and listen, she would have simply walked off. Today, she unexpectedly acted sensible.

Jiang Tinglu sat opposite Shao Kunye, secretly blushing while admiring his handsome face.

Shao Kunye stood. “Since President Jiang has considered it, fifty percent deposit. Full payment and delivery in one week.”

Jiang Songde exhaled, following him up, trying to be obliging. “Young Master Shao, why not stay for dinner tonight?”

“No need, Han Tao.”

Han Tao followed.

Jiang Tinglu grew anxious. She had barely gotten a chance to spend time near Shao Kunye, and now he was leaving so soon.

Her father gave no sign of insisting she stay.

Wen Xi, speaking to Wen Liyang, suddenly heard movement behind her. She stood and saw Shao Kunye being escorted out, seemingly ready to leave.

She breathed a quiet sigh of relief.

Shao Kunye caught the subtle relief on her face as he turned his head, raising an eyebrow.

It seemed someone was eager to have her gone.

Shao Kunye suddenly stopped, leaving Jiang Songde and Fan Xuezhen puzzled.

He spoke deliberately, “Since President Jiang is so eager to keep me, I’ll stay for a meal.”

As expected, he saw Wen Xi’s face go pale.
