Louis pulled the brake hard.

His motorcycle let out a piercing screech as it stopped beside the alley.

Then he shouted inside.

“Oh no, it’s a Public Security officer!

Let’s go!”

Seeing Louis’s uniform, the idle youths immediately knew someone difficult had arrived.

Public Security officers dealt with Ethereals every day.

Few of them had good tempers.

Getting caught would be miserable, so they shrieked and ran off, leaving only the shark girl in the alley.

“Little girl, are you alright?”

Louis dismounted after taking off his helmet and asked the shark girl.

Even though he was still just a temporary worker, as a Public Security officer he couldn’t just ignore something like this.

Actually, no matter the job, people like him would always help those in real trouble.

“I’m fine, thank you, uncle.

You saved me some energy.”

The shark girl said calmly.

Louis also noticed that she had been very composed the whole time she was surrounded.

It was as if she wouldn’t have been in any real danger even if he hadn’t shown up.

Her words left him greatly surprised.

“You’re a robot!?”

Louis really hadn’t realized the shark girl was a robot.

But this solved the mystery of how sharks could live on land.

Robots could modify their own bodies after all.

“I am Ellen Joe, a shark Thiren.”

Ellen furrowed her delicate brows.

Louis’s words were truly rude.

Who calls a beautiful girl a robot?

“Ahaha, sorry.

What you said made me misunderstand.

But I don’t think ‘uncle’ is appropriate.

I’m still young.”

Louis scratched his head, speaking awkwardly.

In his heart he thought, ‘Sure enough, she’s a Thiren.

Specifically a shark Thiren.’ It seemed the Thirens had very detailed classifications.

His strange knowledge had increased once again.

“I’m 17.

How about you?” Ellen asked.

“23 years old.”

“Heh.”

Ellen’s lips curved slightly into an arc.

Could it be that at his age he was already considered middle-aged?

“Don’t just smile without saying anything!

Forget it, forget it.

You should head home quickly.

The nights in New Eridu aren’t safe either.”

Louis grumbled but didn’t dwell on it.

That day he had seen members of the Giant Tooth Gang kidnapping innocent passersby at night, and it wasn’t happening in the Old City.

The Old City was already depleted of people.

If they wanted to ‘dig,’ they’d naturally head to New Eridu.

“Can your motorcycle carry a passenger?”

Ellen walked up to Louis and pointed at his motorcycle.

Louis secretly praised her good eye.

This motorcycle was bought with all his savings.

The currency in this world was called Dennies.

After Louis obtained an identity in this world, he naturally received a bank card with Dennies stored in it.

At first he thought it was unexpected wealth, but later realized it was his original property, just converted into the Dennies of this world.

That’s how he felt at the time.

You really couldn’t say it was bad.

Although they didn’t even give him a dump truck, the other services were quite thorough.

“It can,” Louis said.

“Take me home.”

“Don’t just get into a stranger’s vehicle so casually.”

Louis reminded Ellen with a warning tone.

Giving someone a ride was fine with him.

He just worried that the girl had no sense of self-preservation.

There were bad people who impersonated Public Security officers.

“You’re a Public Security officer, right?

Then this is helping people in need.

Nothing to worry about.

Plus, I can fight pretty well.”

Ellen said directly.

In fact, she just wanted a ride.

If she had just met Louis by chance, she wouldn’t have made this request.

But since he had actively helped her solve a problem, the shark girl felt he would probably be happy to help again.

“Indeed.

Although you look slender, from a mechanical perspective, as long as your tail isn’t Hollow, it weighs at least twenty to thirty kilograms.

Your waist can support it swinging freely like that.”

Louis nodded, affirming Ellen’s claim that she could fight.

The dumbbells he usually used for exercise were around this weight.

Imagine a girl carrying dozens of kilograms every day, with a tail that could swing freely.

How strong her core and hips must be!

He couldn’t even imagine it. This chapter is updated first at g.com.

“Uncle, you definitely don’t have a girlfriend.”

Ellen glared at Louis and said.

Although she was angry, it was undeniable that he hadn’t guessed wrong.

It could only be said that the Public Security officer’s eyesight was very good.

But saying a girl’s weight out on the street was very displeasing.

“I have a female boss.”

Louis argued for himself.

Being single wasn’t his fault.

He just hadn’t found the right partner yet.

But he had already picked someone out and would pursue her once the world was at peace.

“What does that have to do with you?”

Ellen rolled her eyes and retorted, then got onto the back seat of the motorcycle by herself.

Louis didn’t have an extra helmet, so he handed his own to the shark girl.

At first she resisted a bit, but then she put it on.

As the motorcycle engine roared, Louis followed Ellen’s directions across the street and arrived in front of a uniquely styled small building.

This building was completely different from a regular apartment.

Every brick and tile had a classical, elegant aesthetic.

“Victoria Housekeeping?”

Louis looked up at the building’s sign.

He had thought this building was someone’s residence, but looking at the sign, it seemed to be a place open for business.

“Remember the location and the sign?

Come here if you need housekeeping services.

We don’t just clean houses.

We also clean Hollows.”

Ellen got off the back seat, returned the helmet to Louis, and said.

Louis took it and was momentarily stunned.

The phrase ‘clean Hollows’ was pretty interesting.

When the number of Ethereals reached a certain point, the Hollows would expand.

So eliminating Ethereals on a daily basis was similar to cleaning.

The Public Security had limited manpower, so outsourcing to other capable people was also an option.

“You hitched a ride with me, and now you still want to make money off me?”

Louis said with a wry smile after coming back to his senses.

Although Ellen seemed to be an energy-saver, her mental abacus beads were practically bouncing right onto his face.

After she found out he was from Public Security, she led him here.

Her intention was self-evident.

If Louis ever got too busy, he could come find them for housekeeping help.

“Bye-bye, uncle.”

Ellen waved her hand and walked into the building.

Louis didn’t want to discourage her.

He didn’t mention that he was currently penniless except for food money.

He couldn’t conjure up Dennies out of thin air, so how could he afford a housekeeping company?

Although Ellen’s calculations were very shrewd, a pauper could thwart even the cleverest plans.

T/N: “calling someone at the age of 24 uncle is wild” is what my brother said, also he’s 26 ( ≧ᗜ≦)
