“Starlight Knight?”
Zhu Yuan muttered to herself as she watched the mysterious figure shout “Henshin!” and transform from an ordinary human into a fully armored knight right before her eyes.
She did not usually watch tokusatsu, and she had only looked into it before because surveillance footage had captured someone who resembled a knight.
At first she thought it was just a fan wearing a costume and helmet, but now, witnessing a transformation that science could not explain, she found it truly difficult to comprehend.
This was precisely why Louis had chosen to reveal himself to Zhu Yuan before transforming.
If he had slipped into a hidden alley to change and then emerged, his human identity would have come under suspicion.
Zhu Yuan might have attacked him thinking he was a dangerous Ethereal.
By establishing that he was human first, he made sure he would not be treated as a hostile threat.
Louis leaped down from the rooftop.
The powerful boost provided by the Rider System let him land steadily on the ground with ease.
He then strode toward the Dullahan.
“Roar!”
The Dullahan had no concept of retreat in its consciousness, but its instincts screamed warnings.
The knight standing before it was not an opponent it could afford to provoke.
It let out a thunderous roar.
The other Ethereals that heard the call immediately abandoned their siege on Zhu Yuan and Qingyi and charged straight at Louis.
Louis saw the swarm of Ethereals rushing toward him, but he only glanced at them once.
His gaze remained locked on the Dullahan.
Soon the first beast-type Ethereal pounced onto him.
It resembled a lizard and lacked a true head.
When its mouth opened, it revealed a direct passage into its abdominal cavity.
The creature bit down toward Louis’s head.
Its sharp teeth collided with the hard helmet, throwing off sparks, but that was all.
Louis remained completely unmoved.
With the Ethereal still clinging to him and clawing wildly, he continued walking forward toward the Dullahan.
More Ethereals swarmed over, piling onto him until they formed a small mountain.
Yet this mountain kept moving slowly across the ground.
No matter how hard they struggled, they could not stop Louis from steadily advancing.
“Is that a human?”
She pointed at the moving mountain of monsters, completely dumbfounded.
She had never seen how the legendary seven Void Hunters fought, but after witnessing this knight’s overwhelming power, she was willing to call him the strongest below them.
“I suppose so.”
Zhu Yuan was not entirely sure whether the other party was truly human either.
If she had been in his place, the Ethereals would have torn her apart long ago.
She possessed excellent combat skills, but she was no indestructible fighter.
“Cast Off.”
Louis touched the Kabuto Zecter mounted on his belt with his right hand and pulled its horn toward the right, causing the insect device to open.
As soon as he issued the command, the Rider System accepted it.
Cast Off.
The upper body of the armor began cracking apart inch by inch.
This was not damage from the Ethereals’ attacks, but an active deployment by the armor itself.
The chest plate, arm guards, and shoulder armor separated into individual pieces and shot outward violently under high internal pressure.
Boom!
A powerful shockwave erupted from Louis at the center, blasting away all the Ethereals piled on top of him.
Several of them shattered on impact with the flying armor pieces and dissolved into ether energy.
The knight’s true form was finally revealed.
Change Beetle.
A cold mechanical voice rang out from the belt.
At this moment, Kamen Rider Kabuto’s physique was much slimmer than before.
The chest and abdomen were now covered in a thin layer of bright red armor that resembled the structure of the Kabuto Zecter itself.
A sharp red horn covered the face, splitting the original azure mask in two and making the knight look even more like the embodiment of an insect.
Once the armor deployment was complete, none of the Ethereals around Louis were left capable of standing.
He walked toward the Dullahan, his pace gradually quickening.
In an instant he arrived in front of the monster and threw a powerful right punch.
The Dullahan raised its left shield while swinging its right arm, now transformed into a long blade, down toward Louis’s head.
However, it had miscalculated one crucial thing: the difference in strength was overwhelming.
Previously it had sent him flying, but now the situation was completely reversed.
Louis’s punch slammed into the Dullahan’s shield with the force of several tons.
The monster could not withstand it at all.
It was sent flying backward instantly, crashing hard into the building behind it.
The three-story structure collapsed with a deafening roar.
Louis retracted his fist and stood in place, looking at his arm with some surprise.
This was his first real battle against Ethereals.
The small fry were one thing, but he had not expected an elite unit like the Dullahan to be so fragile.
After just one punch, the system had already prompted that the execution threshold had been reached. Visit g.com for the full chapter.
It was a system prompt.
Louis had only discovered during the fight that Kabuto’s Rider System possessed this auxiliary combat function.
It was originally designed to deal with Worms that possessed incredible vitality in the Kabuto world.
Knowing the enemy’s status at all times was critical, which was why this ability existed.
Louis understood now.
He finally knew why Kabuto’s roundhouse kick was guaranteed to hit.
With the system’s assistance, he would know the exact moment to deliver the finishing blow.
Since the execution threshold had already been reached, there was no way he would miss.
With that thought, Louis simply turned around and walked toward Zhu Yuan and Qingyi.
The two women no longer dared to make any sudden moves.
They had just witnessed him send the Dullahan flying with a single punch, and it still felt unreal.
“Watch out behind you!”
Zhu Yuan’s expression changed drastically.
She saw a black shadow rushing toward Louis from behind — it was the Dullahan, which still had not been defeated.
Its left shield was completely shattered, and its steps were unsteady.
It had lost all of its previous intimidating presence and now looked almost pitiful.
Louis completely ignored Zhu Yuan’s warning.
He simply stopped walking, placed his right hand on the row of buttons atop the Kabuto Zecter, and pressed them in sequence.
One, two, three.
The cold mechanical voice sounded again.
After pressing the three buttons, Louis returned the Kabuto Zecter’s long horn to its original position.
A massive surge of energy flowed out from the Zecter, traveling through the belt into his body.
It passed through the horn on his head and gathered in his right leg.
Visible electrical currents crackled around his right foot.
The destructive power of the coming kick was undeniable.
“Rider Kick.”
Rider Kick.
Louis calmly announced the name of his finishing move.
At that moment the Dullahan had already closed in to half a meter behind him, its long blade raised high and ready to strike.
But in the next instant Louis spun around and lashed out with his right leg like a whip, slamming it directly into the Dullahan’s chest.
Due to the height difference he did not hit its head, but it was more than enough.
