The clock ticked in the dead of the night.
The yellow hand, which indicated the alarm, was there waiting to be on for a few minutes.
The time was almost 1 am.
The clothes were kept in a mess at the foot of the bed.
A figure was sleeping soundly covered in a blanket.
The dark blue bed could be seen with the little bit of light from the lamp light.
The inhabitant surely was not alright with the dark.
The rise and fall of the cover indicated the life presence in the room.
There was a glass on the right side of the table clock on the study table.
The white table was carefully organized with the books on one side and the other side there was a tab with a phone all silent.
The windows were closed with the dark blue-colored curtains, making sure none of the light could enter the room.
Although there was no light outside except for the streetlights, for hardly there was anyone awake that late at night.
The sound of the minute hand made more tick, tick sounds as time passed, making the hour hand move closer to the yellow alarm hand.
Just then the alarm rang.
It was 1:30am; the beep-beep sound of the alarm could be heard in the room.
The eye of the sleeping individual opened.
Two hands steered the body to move, facing the bed at the moment.
The blanket fell on her hip as she pushed herself up.
Her hair, which was a mess, covered more than half her face.
She reached over and closed the alarm.
Her long fingers had reached over and taken the phone from the side.
The locked phone showed the time as her right hand pushed the hair strand behind her ear.
She took a deep breath and pushed the lock button on the side.
Instead of opening, the phone showed a menu.
‘Do you wish to connect?’ The letters were displayed on a black screen with red neon letters.
She tapped on the corner of the black screen, and the screen changed to connecting.
There was a red line to show the loading screen.
There was a moment of delay, then the phone opened with a screen with a circuit wallpaper background mixed with red and green wires.
It was a different mode from the original phone.
A message was in the software.
“A new message received.” She sighed as her thumb pressed on the software to check the message.
There was no sender name, only a blank icon.
“New target received….
Anthony Roster, make sure to keep him in a public place.” She tapped at the name to copy. Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.
She pressed another software called ‘Map’ and pasted the name as her body moved to the corner of the bed.
She was wearing a black cardigan and dark blue jeans.
Her hand reached up to rub the right eye to recover from the sleep.
It was late after all.
She pushed herself up from the bed and came to a standing position.
Her legs moved on the gray tiles as she moved to cross the room and headed to the wardrobe.
Her feet kicked on the piles of cloth, she watched the pile for a bit, then just moved to the washroom.
‘Tch!
I forgot.’ The clothes toppled on the opposite side.
Drops of blood were seen on the corner of the white shirt.
The door of the bathroom opened as the running water could be heard.
She took some time, which sounded like someone washing her face.
She came out of the bathroom in the middle and pulled the clothes in her arms.
She lingered for a while to check if anything stained the floor.
Her hand threw the clothes in the washing machine.
Her hand stayed in the position for a bit.
“This was stupid; I should have taken care of it earlier.” The voice was a low one that could only be heard by herself as she quickly put the washing detergent and the antiseptic liquid in the washing machine.
She even put a white liquid in the machine.
The container had the name ‘stain remover’ written on it.
The washing machine started with clothes toppling around before the glass.
The individual sighs and walks back to the desk again, cracking her neck a bit.
She peeked through the curtain to check the night sky.
Just like before, it was a non-starry sky.
The last time she thought the stars in the sky just disappeared due to the streetlights.
She sighs, clicking on the phone again.
“I will need you to accompany me on the mission.” A message was typed and sent to someone called ‘ID Feli.
A few seconds later, a reply came back.
“Why not choose someone else?” The message was written in red letters.
“You know why.” She typed without waiting anymore.
The message came again; this time it was faster.
“I will meet you in the usual place.
Do you want me to send the message?” She watched the message for a bit, then nodded and typed back.
“Yes.” The woman stood up, rubbing her left arm as she walked to the wardrobe.
She had been walking in circles for a while now.
The sound of the washing machine came into her ears as everything else was cold and silent. Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.
“I wonder what you will do this time.
This one is not going to be as simple as the last one.” This time the message came a bit late, but she did not see it; instead, her hands went over to open the doors of the wardrobe.
There were a few pieces of T-shirts and some trousers hanging on the side.
She ducked down and pulled on a rope on the side.
It was black thus almost invisible.
There was a clicking sound.
Her right hand closed the door and opened the other one, which was empty, except for a box.
She took it out and leaned forward to push the backboard.
It opened to a different compartment.
In front of her was a long, slick suit.
She pulled the turtleneck shirt she had on dropped it on the floor and proceeded to do the same to her trousers.
Her hand reached forward to take the black suit hanging before her.
She put her legs first and next to her hands.
The black jumpsuit clung to her body as she walked over to the study table.
She pulled the drawer open and took out a rubber band.
Her hands did a quick work and tied up her hair into a bun.
She reached over at the back of the jumpsuit collar and pulled it up to cover herself.
It went over to cover her whole face with only a white translucent circle to cover the face.
She pulled the zipper up to her collar and covered the zipper with a velcro such that it seemed the woman had no gender.
The suit had foam parts covering her from the front and the back.
There was padding on the shoulders as well, making it hard to decipher her body.
She turned around from the mirror to the wardrobe again.
The front shelf has a few white masks lying on it with several coats and cloaks on the top.
She watched the coats for a bit, and then reached over to get the same red-colored one.
Then took the red cape with golden strings and one by one put it on the body.
At least she took a white mask from the basket.
It was not as plain as before; rather, it was a crying face with crystal gems on the side to show the tears.
There were even sticker-like gems curving into a circle, making it curve under the eye.
If it was for a party, then it would be a beautiful piece of costume.
But this was not a party.
As soon as the clothes were adorned, she leaned down a bit and put a cover on the back of her head.
She quickly put a gun in the pocket this time and took a baton on the side.
“This will be an interesting one.”
She chuckled as her hand tapped the side of her pocket.
“The police are looking for me, but will they look in the right place this time?”
