Chapter 9: Deal with Date

10,000x Rebate System: Every Return Makes Me Stronger

Seraphina slowly stood up from the sofa without taking her eyes away from Amon.

Ambrosia looked between the two of them for a moment before a gentle smile appeared on her face.

"You never told me about Seraphina."

Amon was too exhausted to deal with whatever misunderstanding was forming in her head.

He simply looked at the blue-haired girl before asking, "Is everything alright?"

Seraphina remained silent for several seconds before finally answering in a quiet voice. "...Can we talk alone?"

Amon glanced toward Ambrosia with a tired face.

She was sitting on the sofa with an extremely curious expression.

Clearly interested in whatever the two of them wanted to discuss.

Amon pointed toward the hallway, specifically toward his room. "Let’s go inside."

Seraphina nodded and followed him toward his room.

"Keep the door open at least six inches!" Ambrosia said from behind. "I don’t want sloppy things to happen in my house~."

Amon opened the door and allowed her to enter before walking inside himself and closing the door behind them.

He completely ignored whatever his foster mother was blabbering about.

Seraphina looked around the room for a few seconds.

It was rather simple, with a bed, a desk, several books, and some training equipment lying near the wall.

She eventually turned toward Amon. "What happened?"

Amon frowned slightly. "That’s what I was going to ask you."

Seraphina hesitated before lowering her head slightly. "First, I’m sorry for coming here without telling you."

Amon waved his hand. "It’s fine."

Seraphina reached into her bag and pulled out the cultivation manual Amon had given her.

She held it toward him. "Then take this back."

Amon stared at the book but didn’t reach for it. "I can’t take it back."

Seraphina frowned. "Why not?"

"Because I gave it to you." Amon crossed his arms while looking at her. "A gift isn’t something you return simply because you don’t like it."

Seraphina shook her head with a helpless laugh.

"You don’t understand." Her fingers tightened around the cultivation manual. "This thing is too valuable for me to simply accept."

Amon raised an eyebrow. "How valuable?"

Seraphina looked directly into his eyes. "The cultivation method you gave me can easily be sold for tens of thousands of gold coins."

Amon’s expression didn’t change. He leaned back and answered, "I know."

Seraphina froze in her place. "You knew?"

Amon nodded his head, trying to make sure he sounded nonchalant. "I bought it because I knew its value."

He sighed before looking at the cultivation manual in her hands. "I knew exactly what I was giving you, and I still decided to give it to you."

Seraphina became completely silent. She had expected him to claim that he didn’t know its value.

She had even prepared herself to explain how rare the technique was, but Amon already knew.

After several seconds, she finally asked the question that had been bothering her since yesterday.

"Why would you do that?"

Amon looked at her with a slightly confused expression.

"Because I felt bad about what happened." He scratched the back of his head before continuing. "I went too far yesterday, and I didn’t want to hurt such a sweet girl."

Seraphina’s expression became strange. "Sweet?"

Amon nodded seriously. "Yeah."

For some reason, hearing that made her face become slightly warm.

Still, she shook her head. "I still can’t accept something this valuable."

Amon sighed. "Then what do you want me to do?"

Seraphina lowered her eyes toward the cultivation manual.

"When I showed this to my mother, she told me to either return it to you or give you something of equal value."

Amon’s eyes immediately brightened. "Your mother said that?"

Seraphina nodded her head like a duckling.

A small smile appeared on Amon’s face. "Then there is something you can give me."

Seraphina looked at him suspiciously. "What?"

Amon looked at her dress without giving an answer.

She was wearing a simple light-colored dress that reached just above her knees, with a thin belt around her waist and her long blue hair falling freely down her back.

His gaze lingered for a moment before he looked back at her face.

Seraphina’s cheeks immediately became red. "...Fine."

Amon blinked, surprised that she had read his mind. "Really?"

"Just this once."

She took a deep breath before slowly gathering her long blue hair into a ponytail.

Amon’s eyes widened. ’Not this again!’

Seraphina began lowering herself toward the ground.

Amon immediately panicked. "Wait!"

She continued lowering herself.

"Woah! Woah! Date!" Amon quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her back up. "A date!"

Seraphina stared at him with confusion and a hint of disappointment.

’Why the fuck are you disappointed!?’

Amon pointed toward himself with both hands. "I wanted to go on a date with you!"

Seraphina blinked, with a blank look on her face.

Amon looked completely exhausted. "Why does your mind always go to lewd thoughts?"

Seraphina’s face immediately turned bright red. "It’s your fault for looking at me like a pervert!"

Amon stared at her, and then he pointed at himself.

"I am a pervert?" He slowly raised an eyebrow. "Remind me again who was walking around with a vibrator—"

"Fine!" Seraphina suddenly shouted. Her face was red enough to make even her ears look warm. "I’ll go on a date with you!"

The room suddenly became silent.

After a few seconds, Amon’s tired expression slowly turned into a smile.

"Deal."

Seraphina looked away while trying to hide her embarrassment.

"When?"

Amon thought for a moment.

"Sunday... uh, it’s today... how about now?"

She hesitated before nodding. "Fine."

Amon smiled. "Then it’s settled."

Seraphina looked at him for another moment before handing the cultivation manual back toward him.

Amon pushed her hand away. "Keep it."

She frowned. "But—"

"You already gave me something."

Amon smiled as he pointed toward her. "You’re going on a date with me."

Seraphina’s face immediately became red again.

She quickly looked away. "That’s not equal to tens of thousands of gold coins."

Amon shrugged.

"Maybe not." He walked toward his desk and sat down. "But I don’t really care."

She looked down at the cultivation manual in her hands.

To her, Amon was also probably the biggest idiot she had ever met.

But somehow, he had given her something that could completely change her future.

Seraphina slowly smiled. "...Thank you."

She quickly shook her head and walked out of the room. "I will wait for you in the living room!"

Amon let out a sigh and looked around his room.

’I’ve never been on a date in this world.’

Amon couldn’t help but wonder what he was supposed to wear.
