9 Inside the Nishimiya household.

“Shoko, I’m sorry we’re late.” “You must be starving, I’ll cook dinner for you right away!” Yaeko Nishimiya said with a sense of guilt.

After finishing her words, she prepared to head into the kitchen to cook dinner for Shoko Nishimiya.Full novel: 100x Learning Speed in an Anime Crossover World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Mom, that’s not necessary, I’ve already had dinner!” Shoko Nishimiya quickly held her mother’s hand and made a sequence of sign language gestures.

“Already eaten?” Seeing Shoko Nishimiya’s sign language gestures, Yaeko Nishimiya was momentarily stunned.

Then, as if remembering something, she signed back a question: “Did you eat at Fūju’s place?” “Yes!” “Fūju cooked a very delicious soy sauce fried noodles for me!” Shoko Nishimiya nodded with a slightly flushed face and conveyed the information through sign language.

Right at that moment, a pair of mischievous hands moved directly from Shoko Nishimiya’s thigh toward her stomach.

“In my assessment, Sister didn’t just eat at Fūju-nii’s place, but Sister’s portion was so huge that Sister’s stomach must feel extremely full!” Yuzuru Nishimiya said with a playful smile, while her two hands in front of Shoko’s body continued to sign the gestures.

Receiving the tease from her own younger sister, Shoko Nishimiya’s face turned even redder.

She quickly turned around and began to play and joke around with her sister.

In that instant, the atmosphere inside the Nishimiya household was filled with the sound of good-natured laughter and chatter.

Fūju had no idea at all about the joyful atmosphere currently taking place inside the Nishimiya household.

After finishing his dinner, he went straight back to his private bedroom.

Since he had no other urgent activities, he tried to recall the entire content of the animated film 5 Centimeters per Second.

He then utilized his writing proficiency, which was at the maximum level, to try to compile the story into text form.

Of course, the writing method chosen was using a laptop, rather than using a handwritten medium.

Whether before crossing over worlds or in his current condition, there was one personal characteristic that remained unchanged, which was his ability to write at an extremely high speed resembling a multi-handed creature.

In the same duration of time, the volume of text he was able to produce using computer assistance was guaranteed to double up to dozens of times compared to traditional handwritten methods.

Structurally, the story of 5 Centimeters per Second is divided into three main parts, respectively titled: Cherry Blossom Chosen, Cosmonaut, and 5 Centimeters per Second.

After more than three hours of writing and revising, the adaptation text of the film 5 Centimeters per Second, which had gone through the language refinement process, was finally completed successfully.

After rereading it several times, Fūju found no grammatical errors or structural flaws within the text.

Most likely due to the quality of his writing style being at the maximum level which held a very strong appeal for readers, Fūju himself—even though he had known the entire plot from the beginning—still felt an emotional urge to shed tears after finishing reading the text of his own creation.

After wiping away the remaining tears at the corners of his eyes, a heavy wave of sleepiness quickly washed over him.

The activities he went through throughout the day were quite packed, and after his eyes released a flood of emotion in the form of tears just moments ago, Fūju began to feel physical exhaustion.

He shut down his laptop, turned off the bedroom lights, and began to enter the phase of sleep amidst the long silence of the night.

The next day, the alarm on his phone rang right on time.

At a Japanese high school, learning activities usually start around eight-fifty in the morning, and students are required to arrive slightly earlier than that time.

Although the school arrival time is still considered early, compared to his past experiences which required him to wake up at six in the morning, the current condition felt much more relaxed for Fūju because he could enjoy over an hour of extra sleep time.

Moreover, taking into account the distance from his private home to Toyogasaki High School, even if he only woke up at eight-thirty in the morning, as long as he got dressed quickly and ran all the way, a duration of eight minutes was more than enough for him to arrive at school.

Despite having a loose time calculation, in order to maintain a healthy and orderly lifestyle, Fūju did not laze around in bed.

Around seven-thirty in the morning, he woke up right on time, put on his school uniform, washed his face and brushed his teeth, before finally making a simple breakfast for himself.

In Japan, stores specializing in breakfast menus are almost impossible to find, and street vendors selling breakfast on the roadside are also unavailable.

In principle, everyone always enjoys their breakfast inside their respective homes.

If time was already very tight, they would usually go to a convenience store to buy onigiri and milk, then consume them quickly along the way or after arriving at school to solve their stomach’s problem.

In general, the phenomenon of students running out of the house in a rush while biting a slice of bread spread with fruit jam rarely happens in real life.

Fūju’s breakfast this time consisted of a crunchy sausage, a sunny-side-up fried egg, and a carton of the very popular Japanese vegetable juice drink, with his favorite grape flavor.

As for white bread or other types of bread, they were currently unavailable at his house.

The main reason was that his refrigerator was completely empty.

If it weren’t for the single crunchy sausage and fresh egg left over, Fūju most likely would have been forced to buy onigiri at a convenience store on his way to school to handle his breakfast.

After finishing breakfast, Fūju picked up his bag and stepped out of the house.

At Japanese high schools, not all students use standard backpacks like in the past.

Some students choose to use lighter types of bags, such as shoulder bags or handbags.

Fūju himself preferred to use a handbag for his school activities.

Right after stepping out of his front gate, Fūju saw Shoko Nishimiya, who had also just stepped out of her house along with her younger sister, Yuzuru Nishimiya.

“Good morning!” After noticing each other’s positions, Fūju, Shoko Nishimiya, and Yuzuru Nishimiya simultaneously exchanged greetings with one another.

“Thank you for the hospitality shown to Sister last night, and for helping cook dinner for her.

If not for your help, she would most likely have been forced to stand alone outside the front door while battered by strong winds!” After the exchange of greetings concluded, Yuzuru Nishimiya used sign language to communicate with Fūju.

Although her hearing function was in normal condition, as long as Shoko Nishimiya was present at the scene, she would still prioritize using sign language to prevent Shoko Nishimiya from feeling a sense of exclusion from the surrounding environment.

“You’re welcome, Shoko is a good friend of mine, that kind of action is only natural!” “As for you, after dropping Shoko off at school, make sure you don’t play hooky again!” Fūju said using sign language with a slightly teasing expression toward Yuzuru Nishimiya.

Regarding Shoko Nishimiya’s condition, due to the accumulation of bad experiences she received in the past, she did not continue her education in a regular formal school.

She consistently attended a special school for the deaf up to the present day.

Even so, Yuzuru Nishimiya still harbored worries about her older sister’s condition.

Every morning she always accompanied Shoko directly to school as a form of physical protection.

Most likely caused by the traumatic event experienced by her older sister during childhood, Yuzuru Nishimiya held a deep sense of distrust and distance toward social society, which often caused her to skip school or leave home without permission.

However, that bad behavioral condition shifted in a positive direction after they moved into a house adjacent to Fūju and successfully built a harmonious friendship.

Under the positive influence provided by Fūju, Yuzuru Nishimiya was currently in the process of gradually correcting her behavior.

Although on a few occasions Yuzuru still couldn’t control herself from skipping school or running away from home, the frequency of such actions had dropped drastically by more than half compared to the past.

“I know!” “After dropping Sister off, I’ll go straight to school!” Fūju read Yuzuru’s signed message.

While performing those sign gestures, Yuzuru’s mouth also let out a small snort, indicating her mild annoyance that Fūju brought up her past behavioral issues again.

After the greetings and brief chat concluded, Fūju and the Nishimiya family parted ways to take their respective routes.

Because the location of the Gifu Prefectural Deaf School where Shoko studied was in the opposite direction of Toyogasaki High School, under normal daily conditions, Fūju could not accompany Shoko Nishimiya to school together.

Although the option to wake up earlier to accompany Shoko Nishimiya to school and then take a detour to his own school was doable, Shoko Nishimiya rejected that option because she didn’t want to burden Fūju with a complicated travel route.

However, on weekends when the Gifu Prefectural Deaf School held supplementary classes, Fūju would carve out time to accompany Shoko Nishimiya to school.

During those weekend moments, Yuzuru Nishimiya would usually smile faintly and voluntarily hand over the role of protecting her older sister to Fūju.
