Creation is a curious thing.
Some prophecy speaks of a higher being, creating a world in time.
Some, speak of a huge explosion that brings everything to being.
Some say the world is born out of a corpse of divinity.
Many reasoning tries to explain the creation of the world.
However, the world we are about to embark on, seems normal.
A dense rock floating in nothingness.
There are various theories for its creation, but we are not here for that now.
As time passes, this world became more and more steeped in history.
There are the 5 primordial elements.
Fire, Water, Earth, Metal and Wood.
Each representing a part of a civilization in this world.
These 5 elements are present in our world, and they act and counteract against one another.
Fire: The Abyss of Magma.
Ruled by the fiends and demons, chaos is what they seek.
Water: The Depths of Nautiluses.
Ruled by the merfolk and sea creatures that swell in crushing waters.
Earth: The Apex of Power.
Ruled by the elemental and land creatures.
Reclaiming the world is their goal.
Metal: The Cradle of Technology.
Humankind are found here.
What they lack in abilities, they make up for it in technology.
Wood; The Life-giving of Trees.
Elvenfolk and forest beings populate the lands.
All will be returned to nature.
The 5 pointed star is the symbol of these 5 elements.
Hence, the various rulers agreed to call this place, this planet, this rock…
Starius.
However, within it all, there comes light and darkness.
And that is where our stories begin.
The first era, the age of the breaking.
When 5 elements became 7.
While the 5 elements balanced each other, something is causing it to go out of balance.
Its the wills of the ones alive.
A fire, useful in cooking, devastating in destruction.
Wills, comprises of a mix of Light and Dark, Good and Evil.
It is not that there is good in evil, or evil in good, but which is the more dominant aspect at that point in time.
A clear boundary exist between good and evil, which resulted in the denizens of the world breaking out into factions for their alignment, unity and survival.
All subjective to the various beings that populate this world.
As skirmishes began to rage, the factions realized, they can work together, as long as their alignment is the same.
Soon, on the side of light, holy beings appeared.
Organization, religion, collectiveness, unity.
Traits started to appear.
You have elementals working with humans and fiends to spread the religion’s sphere of influence, by preaching or by combat.
The dark side, began to discover traits as well.
Ambition, arrogance, cruelty, subjugation.
Their shared views of conquering united these folks in a bid to lay claim on the world.
Soon, a light faction and a dark faction exist on this plane of Starius, consisting of coalitions of various races and beings.
Meanwhile, the primordial 5 elements, refused to change their ways.
The world was locked in its first conflict.
The war of the elements.
The light wanted to unite all under its banner, while the dark wanted to lay claim.
As the battles went about, the elements were thrown out of balance as one element tried to dominate over the other.
Finally, the planet itself, summoned a being of ultimate power from the depths of the ocean.
Made of all the elements, the great being known as Drago-starius descended on the planet and subdued each one of them.
With that, the elements retreated to each of their own province, the war ended with no victor, and the great dragon being went deep into the ocean, never to be seen again.
“Which brings us to the 2nd age, which is the age we are in.
Tell me, how many years has it been since the first conflict?” An adult male teacher, finishing his reinteration of the world’s history on the board, turns around.
The view that greeted him was quite a sorry sight.
Students, about 40 of them, in a lecture hall, mostly asleep.
A few of the hardworking ones are in front taking notes.
Anger began to boil inside as the teacher ask: “Someone in the back, tell me how many years has it passed since the conflict?” “How about you?” and he throws his chalk to a student in deep sleep.
“Huh?” said the student in a groggy state.
“Headmaster Mensarius, what was the question again?” “I asked what is the number of years it has been from the first conflict” as his nostrils flare with anger.
The scrunching of his eye muscles may even crack his monocle.
“I have no idea?
I was not listening, ha ha” said the student.
“You, as one of the royal princes, should really pay more attention.
This is how your family’s dynasty was founded, which gave rise to this prestigious school ?!
I swear if you weren’t-” The bell rings.
Class is dismissed.
Students got up and rush off.
School has ended.
Behind them, Headmaster Mensarius is saying something along the lines of “Find out how many years, you cheeky brat.
Wait till your father hears about this!” as his voice trails off.
“Are you sure you should not be listening, Prince?” One of the guys ask him.
“Won’t you get into trouble if its escalated to your father?” Relax, Leo, as though my father has the time to bother about this.
He has his hands filled with the daily affairs of this place.
Another guy, Reginald, says “You really should listen in class.
If you are to rule one day-” Blah blah, and you, Jayzee, do you have anything you will like to add on?
Through his bucktooth, he whispers: “No, Prince, I-“.
“Very well, its time to enjoy the rest of the day.
The four of us should go and have some fun.
Lets go!” said the Prince.
Suddenly, he hears 3 foots stamping.
One arm stretched out and folded back.
Fist on the heart.
“Yes, your highness!
Prince Kenius.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS MishuAurius End of chapter 0.
