There might be some rules in this realm that they were not yet aware of, especially if they were in the wrong positions. The AI likely would not record today as a successful encounter.

Mo Yu was stunned for a moment. After digesting this new information, he immediately reached out and grabbed Gu Jinzhi’s clothes. Gu Jinzhi instantly panicked.

“Didn’t you say we need to switch positions?”

Mo Yu had a look on his face that clearly said, ‘What are you waiting for?!’

Gu Jinzhi remained stiff. In truth, he really was not prepared for this, but with the task at hand, he had no way to argue. He was quickly pushed down to lie on the floor by Mo Yu.

He watched Mo Yu kneel above him, briskly removing his top to reveal skin like white jade, before placing a palm flat against his chest.

At that moment, that handsome face, still carrying a touch of baby fat, actually looked exceptionally calm and composed, carrying an indescribable charisma.

“Moan,” Mo Yu suddenly bent down, whispering almost directly into his ear, his eyelashes clearly defined.

“The AI is watching.”

“I…” Gu Jinzhi’s face flushed.

He closed his eyes and tried for a long moment before reluctantly letting out a sound.

Wait… catastrophe is right at the door! Why is Boss Gu still slacking off?

Mo Yu grew anxious and forgot his manners.

“Make it sound slutty!”

This was likely the first time in Gu Jinzhi’s life that anyone had ever said those words to him.

Gu Jinzhi’s entire body tensed up, and his face turned completely crimson.

Outside, Ultron had likely spotted them through the surveillance cameras. The heavy footsteps of the robot headed straight for their room. The flimsy wooden door first let out a loud bang, and then the doorknob began to sizzle.

With the robot on the verge of barging in, Gu Jinzhi’s face grew hotter and hotter until he let out a desperate, earth-shattering shout.

Mo Yu was utterly dumbfounded. He had considered that Boss Gu was intentionally slacking off because he didn’t want to be the bottom, and he had considered that he simply couldn’t let loose. What he hadn’t expected was that this was his actual, genuine level of performance!

Who could this possibly fool?!

A red mist quickly drifted across his vision, signaling that the task had failed.

Although there was still plenty of time, Mo Yu was immediately forced into a state of sleep once again. When he woke up, they were back on the floor of the office building.

Mo Yu stood up, his head feeling heavy and groggy, like someone who had slept in far too late on a weekend.

Outside the office window, the dark clouds hanging over the sky seemed thicker, with a faint reddish tint.

Mo Yu checked his phone, it was still June 7th, 8:00 AM.

He didn’t mind taking another day off, but Boss Gu clearly didn’t share that sentiment.

“Is it still not working? Is our plan unusable?”

Mo Yu was silent for a moment. To be honest, he felt the reason for failure wasn’t that their plan to fool the AI couldn’t work…

It was simply that Boss Gu’s moaning was atrocious!

It was genuinely the most sexually insulated sound he had ever heard in his life. It would have been perfect for shouting while practicing martial arts in a military camp to intimidate an opponent, but here?

How could someone be so upright and wholesome in every bone of their body?

After careful consideration, Mo Yu told Boss Gu that he didn’t think they should give up on treatment just yet, and that they could try once more.

Gu Jinzhi’s face was still red, and hearing this, he actually sounded a bit annoyed.

“But I clearly shouted so loudly.”

Mo Yu: Is loudness really the issue here??

Driven by genuine curiosity, Mo Yu asked, “How were you with your exes…”

Gu Jinzhi paused for a moment. “I’ve never dated.”

He turned his head away, adding with a trace of reluctance, “I’m not interested in romance. It distracts from work.”

Mo Yu’s eyes widened slightly.

Because of his company’s high profile, combined with his striking looks and his degree from Peking University, Gu Jinzhi was a walking magnet for public attention, a semi-celebrity, really.

Tall, handsome, brilliant, and wealthy. Any single one of those traits would be enough to make people fall for him. Yet, as his colleagues had mentioned, Gu Jinzhi had never had a single rumor or scandal.

Could it be that he really can’t function down there?

Mo Yu clutched his chest.

Who knew God could be so fair?

Gu Jinzhi: ?

After arriving at the nearest five-star hotel, Mo Yu sent a text message to request time off. Unsurprisingly, the Editor in Chief still didn’t want to grant it.

【Editor Wu, I really can’t make it today. I just received alien brainwaves and temporarily gained superpowers. Today, anyone who comes into contact with me will turn into a rubber duck! For your safety and the future of the company, I must endure this hardship alone! (Wiping tears)】

【No, I can’t say any more, it’s too dangerous for you.】

After sending the message, he logged straight out of his work WeChat.

Anyway, given Gu Jinzhi’s… “talent,” they would likely keep repeating the loop. The editor would forget everything by tomorrow anyway.

Mo Yu felt zero psychological burden. Seeing Gu Jinzhi still on the phone with a deadly serious expression, Mo Yu began to ponder what they should do next.

While he didn’t mind repeating these work-free days a few more times, he disliked the feeling of being casually manipulated by higher-dimensional beings.

Maybe I should give President Gu some special training.

“I have something extremely important to handle today that requires my full concentration. I’ve already had my secretary reschedule all my meetings.”

Yesterday he had still tried to deal with work, but today, Gu Jinzhi’s tone was resolute. “If there’s anything urgent that can’t wait, they will reach out to you directly.”

The person on the other end of the line was Xiao Di, his close friend from his university startup days and currently the executive planner for their entire project.

Xiao Di’s eyes widened in disbelief, wondering if he had misheard.

“No way! President Gu, are… are you possessed?!”

“Nonsense…”

“I genuinely can’t think of anything in this world that could possibly be more important to you than work!”

Just as Gu Jinzhi was about to make up an excuse, an inappropriate audio sound suddenly burst from Mo Yu’s side.

Gu Jinzhi turned to look at Mo Yu in shock.

“Sorry, sorry!” Mo Yu blushed furiously and quickly turned the volume down. The audio on his learning materials was far too loud!

On the other end of the line, Xiao Di gasped. “President Gu, you!”

“Let me explain…”

“You’ve finally seen the light! Waaah, I’m so touched!”

Gu Jinzhi: “?”

“Gu-ge, you’ve led me to fortune all these years, and I owe you big time. Because you were always single, I was too embarrassed to flex my relationship with my wife in front of you. I even had to block you from my social media posts! It was killing me! I get it now, don’t worry. I’ll handle everything for you!”

“Wait, it’s not…”

“Say no more, I understand! A brother won’t let anyone disturb your special time!! Leave it to me!”

Looking at the disconnected call, Gu Jinzhi rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

“Alright, are you still watching that?”

“Huh?” Mo Yu looked aggrieved.

“Isn’t this so you can learn a bit?”

Gu Jinzhi pursed his lips, looking genuinely annoyed.

“Turn it off. I don’t need to learn this.”

Why is this man so stubborn?

Mo Yu didn’t listen to him. Instead, he turned the volume back up a little. “Listen to this, it sounds so natural, delicate, and charming…”

“Turn it off.” Gu Jinzhi’s face grew even darker. Whatever he was thinking of, his ears turned bright red.

“Who on earth moans like that?!”

“…Isn’t everyone like that?”

Gu Jinzhi’s chest rose and fell, looking like a man with valid points but nowhere to vent his frustration. “You… I would never!”

Mo Yu originally wanted to keep persuading him, but then a realization hit him.

Gu Jinzhi was right.

With a personality like his, even if he were genuinely doing that, he would suppress his voice.

Furthermore, in that other realm, the Gu Jinzhi who argued with Ultron and tore robots apart with his bare hands appeared fierce, competitive, and not to be messed with.

He definitely wouldn’t make such delicate, soft noises.

Instead, he would probably only let out muffled groans.

A stroke of inspiration struck Mo Yu, and he slapped his hands together with a sharp clack.

“I got it!”

“How about you make sounds like you’re enduring pain instead?”

Gu Jinzhi stood in place, staring blankly at Mo Yu.

Mo Yu quickly shut off the instructional video.

“We won’t listen to this anymore. Trust me, learning the sound of pain is enough.”

Frowning, Gu Jinzhi pinched the bridge of his nose. “Is it absolute necessary to make a sound?”

Mo Yu’s expression grew hesitant.

“Well… do you want to face the surveillance camera and act out the facial expressions for that…?”

That challenge might be a bit too high-level.

“Or do you actually want to… become a gay couple for real?”

Gu Jinzhi closed his eyes in despair. Without another word, he shed his jacket and rolled up his sleeves.

The bandages from his earlier injury were still wrapped around his arm, they had only vanished while they were inside the nighttime instance.

After the intense workout of fighting three opponents at once earlier, blood had begun to seep through the cloth again.

Just as Mo Yu was about to ask if he was alright, he saw Gu Jinzhi reach directly for his own wound.

Startled, Mo Yu leaped off the bed and rushed over to stop him.

“What are you doing?!”

“Didn’t you say you needed the sound of pain?”

Mo Yu was stunned.

Is he really this ruthless to himself??

“You don’t need to go that far.”

Surely there were other ways! Mo Yu’s hands moved faster than his brain, as he spoke, he reached out and pinched Gu Jinzhi’s waist.

“Ugh!” Gu Jinzhi didn’t react at first, then quickly dodged out of the way.

Mo Yu blinked. “Hey, that sound wasn’t bad at all!”

So he did have normal physical reactions!

Saying so, he reached out to pinch him again, but Gu Jinzhi caught him firmly by the wrist.

“Enough! Don’t push your luck.”

When Gu Jinzhi lowered his brow and darkened his expression, he was actually quite intimidating.

Mo Yu froze, immediately taking a step back. “I’m sorry…”

It suddenly hit Mo Yu that they were only together and physically intimate because of the task. In reality, they weren’t close at all, they weren’t even friends. He really shouldn’t be making jokes with President Gu like that.

Gu Jinzhi paused as well.

Why does this guy act like a… puppy?

If you leave him alone, he bounces around mischievously. But the second you scold him, he instinctively puts on this pitiful face that makes you feel instantly guilty.

Gu Jinzhi shook his head to clear out the strange analogy, then consciously softened his tone to explain to Mo Yu.

“I didn’t press the wound just for the pain.”

“To complete the task, besides acting convincingly, retaining our memories is crucial.”

“Since the injuries and pain on my body carry over into the instance, if I subconsciously link the pain of this wound with my self-awareness, it should help me regain my memories right at the start.”

Mo Yu froze, thinking it over before finding it made a lot of sense.

Their latest entry into the realm was noticeably worse than the previous one. It felt almost as if the instance was forcing them to… perform.

There was no telling what would happen on their third attempt.

If Gu Jinzhi couldn’t regain his memory to cooperate with him, their plan wouldn’t stand a chance.

Whenever the topic shifted away from explicit matters, Gu Jinzhi appeared far more reliable.

“That’s why I’d rather go in carrying an injury. I recall reading about a method for establishing subconscious anchors. I’ll research it further in a moment. When the time comes for… the act, if all else fails, just press hard on my wound.”

“Since you said the sound of pain works, an authentic pain reaction should be just as good.”

Mo Yu looked like he wanted to say something, but unable to come up with a better alternative, he could only agree to the plan.

Gu Jinzhi was noticeably taking the task far more seriously today, meticulously searching through information. He even began looking into AI systems and common settings regarding cyberpunk and utopian tropes.

Failing the instance repeatedly bothered him immensely.

It was interfering far too much with his work.

Gu Jinzhi was deeply absorbed in reading the material when he looked up to find Mo Yu staring at him with wide, expectant eyes.

Only then did Gu Jinzhi realize it was almost lunchtime, and neither of them had eaten breakfast yet.

“I’m sorry, are you hungry?”

Mo Yu’s eyes instantly lit up.

“Can we eat out today?”

“Hmm?”

For a second, Gu Jinzhi felt like he could almost see a tail wagging behind Mo Yu.

“Because we ate here twice yesterday already,” Mo Yu said sheepishly. “By the way, there’s something I’ve been wanting to ask you…”

“What is it?”

Mo Yu leaned closer. Gu Jinzhi almost caught sight of his long eyelashes again and instinctively pulled back a bit.

“The money you spent yesterday, did it actually get charged?”

That reminded Gu Jinzhi to check.

“No.”

Since time and date were reset, it was as if that meal had never happened.

The light in Mo Yu’s eyes burned even brighter.

“I just searched online, there’s a Michelin starred restaurant not far from here. Let’s go, let me take you there!”

Mo Yu declared with grand generosity, “Don’t hold back on my account! This time, it’s my treat!”

Gu Jinzhi was about to say that it might be a waste of time, but looking into Mo Yu’s sparkling eyes, he ultimately nodded. “…Alright.”

After enjoying two delicious meals he had never tried before, Mo Yu lay satisfied on the large bed of the five-star hotel.

At eight o’clock, drowsiness arrived right on schedule.
