Seeing that message, Wen Moxue couldn’t help bursting into laughter.

It really hadn’t been easy. From acting as though he couldn’t be bothered with him, to trying to drive him away, to ignoring him, this old man had managed to press every last bit of coldness he had into him and now, at long last, he had finally pried open that old clam shell.

Of course, at present, the old man might only have developed a little interest in his body. He was still some distance away from achieving his goal, so he needed to keep working at it.Full novel: A Cross-Dressing Gold Digger Hooked His Classmate’s Dad — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Two days later, it was time for the university sports meet.

The 3,000 meter race had been scheduled for the afternoon of the second day. Shu Yan had somehow gotten hold of a DV camera and insisted on recording Wen Moxue’s heroic performance in the race.

Wen Moxue had only gone three or four days without running but when he started running again, he could clearly feel that it wasn’t as easy as before.

However, he was already famous in his own right and the 3,000 meter race was an especially eye catching event. Coupled with the attention from the previous forum incident, there were an enormous number of people who had come to watch him. Cheers rang out without end. Even the announcements over the campus broadcast turned out to be cheering messages submitted by some unknown admirer or admirers, making Wen Moxue, who had originally given up on trying to place, feel too embarrassed to simply coast through the race. Without realizing it, he began increasing his pace.

His stamina, however, was what it was. The consequence of speeding up at the beginning was that after five laps, his endurance was clearly beginning to give out. His legs moved mechanically and although he was technically still running, even the people beside him who were cheering for him were walking faster than he was.

Wen Moxue felt as though his feet were filled with lead. He really wanted to stop.

Several classmates running alongside him noticed that he was already pushing himself beyond his limits. They shouted encouragement at the tops of their lungs, trying to urge him onward.

“Ah Xue! You’re the best! Keep going!”

“Don’t give up! There are only two and a half laps left. Even if you walk to the finish line, you can still place!”

“Flowers dazzle the eyes wherever they bloom but today, Ah Xue is the most dazzling! Ah Xue, charge!”

“Go, Ah Xue! Ah Xue must win!”

……

Wen Moxue’s ears were buzzing. In truth, he could barely hear what they were shouting anymore.

Because he had run relatively quickly at the beginning, he was currently in third place but several of the boys behind him had conserved their energy from the start and were gradually catching up. Before long, Wen Moxue had fallen to sixth place.

Another boy overtook him. Wen Moxue knew that more and more people would pass him and by then he had stopped caring.

However, after overtaking him, that boy quickly made a gesture toward him before immediately running off again.

Wen Moxue noticed the movement but he hadn’t seen clearly what gesture the other boy had made.

He gestured to the classmates running alongside him, signaling for them to quiet down, then asked between heavy breaths, “Did any of you see clearly what that guy just gestured at me?”

For a moment, everyone looked at one another. What gesture?

Everyone’s attention had been focused on Wen Moxue. He was drenched in sweat, his pale, cold toned skin covered in beads of perspiration, while his face was flushed red from the heat. He looked even more dazzling and striking than usual. He was already the center of attention on the entire field and the boy’s movement had been relatively discreet, so almost no one had noticed it.

But “almost no one” did not mean absolutely no one.

One girl immediately said, “I saw it. He gave you the middle finger.”

“Yeah, I saw it too. It was the middle finger,” another classmate said.

The others instantly exploded.

“Damn, which department is that idiot from?”

“What’s wrong with him? Why the hell would he give someone the middle finger?”

“Fuck, he’s definitely jealous because our Ah Xue is so popular. Sour grapes are throwing a tantrum.”

……

Wen Moxue narrowed his eyes and looked toward the boy. He realized that the boy was one of the people who usually hung around with He Rao.

Back when Meng Qingzhu had forcibly tried to join their group, He Rao had treated him with complete indifference, while this particular boy had taken the initiative to suggest bringing Meng Qingzhu along.

Wen Moxue was petty by nature. If you treated him well and showered him with praise, he might not necessarily care that much.

But if you mocked or insulted him, you would definitely succeed in provoking his competitive spirit.

At this point, there were only two laps, or 800 meters, left before the finish. Those who still had energy began accelerating.

That boy was probably not a professional athlete, or perhaps he was simply a rather weak athlete, because after overtaking Wen Moxue, he didn’t noticeably speed up. He maintained a distance of around thirty meters from him, looking as though his only goal had been to get ahead of Wen Moxue.

Everyone assumed that Wen Moxue had started out so aggressively that he would inevitably run out of stamina later.

There were many people who liked him but naturally, there were also people who disliked him, such as Meng Qingzhu and the others. Seeing Wen Moxue being overtaken one person after another, they had already begun taking pleasure in his misfortune.

Every time someone passed him, there would even be someone deliberately jeering from the sidelines.

However, just as it looked like he was about to fall to eighth place, with Meng Qingzhu and his friends already jeering at him, Wen Moxue suddenly seemed to have been plugged into a power source.

He began to accelerate.

The sports field instantly erupted with cheers like a landslide of roaring waves, completely drowning out the small cluster of voices coming from Meng Qingzhu and his group.

Meng Qingzhu’s smile instantly froze on his face. He simply couldn’t believe that Wen Moxue still had energy left.

A final burst before collapsing. It had to be a final burst before collapsing!

That was what Meng Qingzhu told himself, only to watch Wen Moxue maintain a pace that was by no means slow as he overtook the boy who had just passed him. Then, without letting up, he continued pushing forward. Amid the cheers of the crowd, he caught up with the boy who had given him the middle finger and overtook him as well.

The classmates who had been furious over the boy’s obscene gesture immediately burst into enthusiastic applause, while simultaneously letting out a perfectly synchronized round of boos aimed at the boy who had raised his middle finger.

The boy himself was just as incredulous that Wen Moxue could still overtake him. He wanted to speed up and pass Wen Moxue again but he had already reached his limit. The moment he tried to accelerate, his breathing rhythm was thrown completely out of sync and the runners behind him overtook him instead.

At this point, there was still one and a half laps left.

Wen Moxue maintained the speed he had just picked up and, amid cheers so loud they seemed capable of turning the entire campus upside down, charged forward in one determined burst. In a single stretch, he fought his way into fifth place.

On the final lap, everyone began their sprint.

Wen Moxue didn’t know what place the boy who had given him the middle finger was currently in but there was a stubborn breath of pride lodged in his chest. He simply couldn’t stand the thought of finishing behind that guy. So he ran with all his might, charging forward as hard as he could. In the end, maintaining that pace all the way to the finish line, he took an excellent third place result.

The 3,000 meter race awarded points to the first ten finishers. Wen Moxue had originally only intended to scrape into the rankings at the very bottom. Even he hadn’t expected himself to be this ridiculously formidable.

Having completely exhausted his physical strength, Wen Moxue was helped along while panting heavily, surrounded by excited classmates.

Shu Yan, in particular, didn’t care in the slightest that Wen Moxue was covered in sweat. He rushed over and hugged him directly.

“Ah Xue, you were amazing! You’re my god!”

The other events were still going on. The boy who had given Wen Moxue the middle finger ultimately finished in sixth place.

Because the 3,000 meters was such a grueling event, even sixth place could earn five points for the class.

After all, for relatively simple events such as the shot put, even first place only earned five points.

Seeing the boy panting heavily as his classmates helped him over to register his result, Wen Moxue, who had managed to steady his breathing somewhat, walked over.

“Referee, I want to report this person, Liao Jiayuan. During the race just now, he gave me the middle finger,” Wen Moxue said.

As soon as those words came out, everyone around them turned to look.

The referee frowned. “Do you have any evidence?”

“I saw it just now.”

“I saw it too.”

The classmates on Wen Moxue’s side who had witnessed it quickly stepped forward to back him up.

But Liao Jiayuan’s classmates were unwilling to back down either.

“How come we didn’t see anything?”

“Exactly. Where’s the evidence? Don’t tell me you’re just making a false accusation.”

“You guys were booing Liao Jiayuan just now too. We all saw that.”

Everyone started talking over one another, arguing back and forth without reaching any conclusion.

The referee frowned as well, clearly put in a difficult position. “Student, everything has to be based on evidence. You need to provide evidence before we can make a judgment.”

Liao Jiayuan looked at Wen Moxue provocatively. “Exactly. Without evidence, that’s slander!”

Wen Moxue’s classmates were so furious at his smug expression that they nearly exploded.

Just then, Shu Yan squeezed his way through the crowd with a DV camera in his hands.

“The evidence is here. I recorded it, Teacher.”

“……” Liao Jiayuan’s smile froze on his face.

What a freak. Who the hell carries a DV camera around while following someone through a 3,000 meter race just to record it?

In the end, because Liao Jiayuan had made an obscene gesture toward a fellow student, the referee and the others discussed the matter and ultimately decided to disqualify his result.

He had worked himself to death running those 3,000 meters, finally managed to secure sixth place and yet his result was declared invalid. He was so furious he nearly died on the spot.

The greener Liao Jiayuan’s face became, the happier Wen Moxue felt.

Third place in the 3,000 meters. He felt like he could brag about that for the rest of his life.

However, the consequences of completely exhausting his physical strength were also quite serious. After returning to his place, he took a shower and immediately collapsed into bed, sleeping like a log. He didn’t even get up for dinner. It wasn’t until he woke up hungry the next day that he realized his entire body was aching.

He was a hero today, so he didn’t need to go to the event venue. After getting up and making himself something to eat, he lay back on the bed, played with his phone and started pestering Fu Cheng.

A’Xiaoli: Big brother, big brother! I finished running the 3,000 meters!

A’Xiaoli: I was super strong and got third place!

A’Xiaoli: [Happy Spinning in Circles.GIF]

Fu: Congratulations.

A’Xiaoli: Big brother, you’re so cold QAQ

A’Xiaoli: But you look so handsome when you’re being cold too!

A’Xiaoli: Another day of loving big brother like crazy. (shy)

Fu: ……

Fu: Want me to celebrate with you?

A’Xiaoli: But I don’t want to move at all today. My legs hurt so much.

After sending that message, Wen Moxue suddenly thought of something. He pulled back the covers and brought his legs together, taking a photo that he intended to send to Fu Cheng but after looking at it, he felt it was too ordinary.

After thinking for a moment, he came up with a brilliant idea. He took another photo and sent it to Fu Cheng.

Today was a day off, so there was no need for Fu Cheng to work. Ji Weiyang had invited him to the horse ranch to go riding.

Fu Cheng came out after changing into his riding clothes. He was tall with long legs and because he exercised regularly over a long period of time, the powerful, explosive strength contained beneath his riding clothes was especially apparent.

The staff at the horse ranch brought over two magnificent thoroughbreds, both looking imposing and full of spirit. Ji Weiyang said, “These are the purebred horses they recently brought in. They’re race quality. What do you think? Impressive, right?”

“Not bad.”

Fu Cheng took the reins from one of the staff members. The horse was extremely tall and anyone without even a little experience would have had no chance of getting onto it.

The staff member brought over a mounting block for Fu Cheng to step on but he refused.

He gripped the saddle with one hand and, with only a slight exertion of strength, his entire body sprang into the air. He vaulted directly onto the horse, his movements so clean and effortless that the surrounding ranch staff couldn’t help bursting into applause.

Ji Weiyang was still struggling to mount his own horse with the help of the mounting block and the staff when Fu Cheng felt his phone vibrate inside his pocket.

He took out his phone and saw a WeChat notification telling him that Wen Qianqian had sent him a picture.

Fu Cheng’s fingertips paused. After hesitating for a moment, he finally opened the picture, already preparing himself for whatever impact it might have.

Even so, the sight still made him instinctively tighten his grip on the reins.

Wen Qianqian had sent him a photo of her legs pressed together. It was obvious that she wasn’t wearing pants, while one of her own hands rested on her thigh, rubbing it as she pinched a handful of pale, soft flesh. The places where her fingers had squeezed had been left with several suggestively red marks, enough to make one’s imagination run wild.

A’Xiaoli: My legs are so sore they’re about to fall off. Big brother, rub them for me.

She really was……

The horse, dissatisfied with the pressure of the reins, kicked its legs impatiently. Fu Cheng came back to his senses, frowned and replied.

Fu: Don’t keep sending photos like this. What would you do if you happened to run into some bad person who put your photos online?

Damn it. He was acting all proper and serious again!

Wen Moxue lay on the bed with his legs crossed, replying with the demeanor of someone who was hopelessly lovestruck.

A’Xiaoli: I’ve only ever sent them to big brother. I know big brother wouldn’t do that.

Fu: You seem quite experienced. You’ve only sent them to me?

What nonsense. Of course. After all, I’ve only ever pretended to be a girl to deceive you.

Wen Moxue knew that an old man like Fu Cheng was definitely conservative and chauvinistic. He probably didn’t even know how many women he had been involved with himself and he already had a son yet he still expected a woman to be a pure and innocent young girl.

Naturally, Wen Moxue had to play along with his preferences.

A’Xiaoli: (crying) What kind of person do you think I am, big brother? I’ve grown this old and I’ve never even been in a relationship. I’ve even saved my first kiss for you and you actually suspect me.

A’Xiaoli: All these methods and photo poses were taught in those tutorial posts online. I learned them little by little by following the guides.

A’Xiaoli: If you hadn’t kept ignoring me before, I wouldn’t have needed to use these methods to get your attention.

A’Xiaoli: (aggrieved) And yet you think of me like this. I don’t want to talk to you anymore.

Wen Moxue felt that he had been far too much of a bootlicker before. Now that the other man had taken the bait, he should make a little fuss and let him know that he had a temper of his own too. Only then would the other person know to cherish him.

Men, including Wen Moxue himself, were all like that. They didn’t like people who constantly fawned over them. The kind of distance where you were sometimes close and sometimes distant was what truly tugged at the heartstrings.

So he closed WeChat and happily got out of bed to eat the takeout he had ordered.

Fu Cheng, however, wasn’t actually so conservative that he insisted the other person be a virgin or held any other old fashioned beliefs of that sort. He had only felt that, judging from how skilled she seemed, this probably wasn’t her first time doing something like this and he didn’t want her to be deceived.

Who would have thought that his attempt to help would end up having the exact opposite effect?

He sent a couple of messages through WeChat to explain himself. The person who normally replied to him almost instantly, however, still hadn’t responded even after he had finished two laps on horseback.

Fu Cheng frowned. In the end, he simply dismounted, letting the horse eat grass nearby and made a voice call.

Who would have thought that the call would be hung up after only two rings?
