With the clues discovered there, even if Li Dawei didn’t want to talk, he wouldn’t be able to leave the police station for the time being. So, Zhou Changfeng directly found this place based on the surveillance footage of who went in and out.
“Lin Yuan? Why are you here?”
He was still very surprised to see Lin Yuan. After all, in his view, Lin Yuan should still be out delivering food.
Lin Yuan smiled politely. He had already taken the children to the police station. He happened to have time to talk to this Police Officer Zhou.
If he just went over there alone and said he knew how to solve a case from a year ago, who would believe him?
“It’s just that I have something. Officer Zhou, could you help me find the head of the criminal investigation unit here, or even the Director?”
These words couldn’t be casually said by a food delivery worker.
Zhou Changfeng frowned.
“The reward online isn’t that easy to get, Lin Yuan. People shouldn’t overestimate themselves.”

Not many people go to the police station to find the Director. Most people are going for the online reward, so his first reaction was to dissuade Lin Yuan.
“Reward?”
Lin Yuan didn’t know much about this, but thinking about it, his eyes suddenly lit up.
“Officer Zhou, you should know what kind of person I am from the last time. I wouldn’t have come if I wasn’t confident.”
The sincerity in his eyes made Zhou Changfeng somewhat believe that Lin Yuan might really know something.
After a moment of thought, he nodded. He had a lot of dealings with the Director here, so it wouldn’t be a problem to bring someone over.
“Okay, then I’ll wait for you here.”
Regarding Li Dawei’s affairs, he also needed the full cooperation of the police officers here. If it was just one area, of course, it would be fine, but according to Li Dawei’s travel routes, the areas involved were probably more than one.
In fact, Lin Yuan’s visit this time was also somewhat of a gamble. One had to know that the Director usually wasn’t just sitting in the office waiting for people to come.
Ten minutes later, Lin Yuan was brought before the Director of the District C Police Station.
The Director had a square face, and his eyes didn’t have as much oppressive force as imagined; they even carried some approachability.
“Director Guan, this is Lin Yuan, whom I mentioned to you, and also the key to capturing Li Dawei.”
After a brief introduction, Zhou Changfeng signaled Lin Yuan to speak.
“Lin Yuan, is it? What do you want to tell me?”
Director Guan’s tone was mild.
Lin Yuan didn’t waste any words and went straight to the point.
“Regarding the case of the several murdered boys a year ago, perhaps I know what’s going on. Could you please let me see the case files from that time?”
From the environment of the scene, Lin Yuan felt that he could more clearly determine the suspect’s location, as well as the girls’ family backgrounds.
These clues were something Lin Yuan couldn’t obtain on his own.
Zhou Changfeng originally thought he was going to talk about Li Dawei’s matter, which he could also listen to, but when he mentioned the incident from a year ago, Zhou Changfeng was a little surprised.
“You mean, you want us to provide you with clues?”
Seriously, if Lin Yuan was a consultant sent from above, that would be one thing, but to ask them to hand over the case files so inexplicably, wasn’t that a bit off?
This wasn’t just any place; it was the police station!
Lin Yuan nodded.
This Director Guan was indeed someone who had seen the world, smiling and saying:
“Lin Yuan, although you provided us with important clues and caught someone, the files can’t just be viewed casually. If that were the case, our place would be packed with people.”
Lin Yuan understood their reaction, so he slowly said:
“The locations where the dead girls were found should be no more than a hundred meters apart, all downstream from Twin Bridges. The marks on their bodies are better described as fishing lines rather than ropes, right?”
Fishing line?
Lin Yuan’s sudden words left Zhou Changfeng somewhat speechless. What was all this about?
“Lin Yuan, you haven’t even seen the scene. No one will believe wild guesses.”
But Director Guan’s face showed a hint of surprise.
“How did you know?”
“Huh?”
Zhou Changfeng thought he had misheard and asked in surprise:
“It really was fishing line?”
Director Guan glared at him, speechless for once.
“I showed it to you at the time. You probably didn’t pay attention, did you?”
Those who can be police officers won’t have bad memories, and the case wasn’t that big. If Zhou Changfeng had really seen it, he definitely wouldn’t have said something like that.
Speaking of this, Zhou Changfeng was a little embarrassed. At that time, he was busy with other matters, and later, because it wasn’t his area, he paid little attention to it.
However, this was also his oversight. Zhou Changfeng looked at Lin Yuan curiously.
If that’s the case, what else does he know?
After they finished speaking, Lin Yuan spoke again:
“If I guessed correctly, you guys should have started with the local anglers, right?”
Director Guan nodded.
Those fishing lines were of good quality. If someone didn’t fish regularly, they wouldn’t be able to find them at all. The reason why I say those, because there were several fishing lines wrapped together to form the effect.
“Does my saying this mean you guys are going in the wrong direction?”
“It’s not that the direction is wrong.”
Lin Yuan pondered how to choose his words carefully.
“The surveillance footage from the time of the incident should still be preserved in the bureau, right? Can you let me take a look first?”
Mainly, if you want to throw something into the river, the person has to be present first. Most people would assume the location for disposing of the body is upstream.
However, that’s not the case in the Criminal System. The person was hung on a pillar by the bridge, and would only break off after a certain period of time.
From this point of view, the perpetrator must have had a process of approaching the location.
“There is surveillance, yes. How about this, you talk to Police Officer Zhou about the follow-up matters. He has access to my permissions, and other police officers will cooperate with you as well.”
Director Guan knew from just now that Lin Yuan should have his own ideas, but he couldn’t just stay with him like this.
The named Zhou Changfeng smiled helplessly, but he was actually quite curious about this case.
“Or do you want to come along?”
Director Guan was annoyed.
“Do you think I’m the same as before?”
Lin Yuan could tell that this Director Guan was truly unpretentious, and he didn’t think that the other party wasn’t taking it to heart.
The location of the Missing Person Records was on the third floor, and Zhou Changfeng took him there.
It would take some time to print out the files. On the way, the police officers who saw Zhou Changfeng taking out the files and handing them to Lin Yuan couldn’t help but be shocked.
“I’ll look at the originals first. The copies are already being printed.”
Lin Yuan took them and finished reading them in a few minutes. At this time, Zhou Changfeng also sent him the video.
The case was relatively special, and the surveillance footage preserved at the time was relatively complete. After Lin Yuan watched it once, he had already identified the person.
When Zhou Changfeng brought over the copies, Lin Yuan turned his phone over to face him and pointed to the person on it, asking:
“Where does this person live now? Can you find him?”
Zhou Changfeng didn’t give an immediate answer. He wasn’t very clear about the situation here. After taking a screenshot, he started asking the police officer in charge of this matter.
The case wasn’t big, and the people who handled it at the time weren’t just anyone.
