Sensing something was wrong, Susu followed Brother Leopard’s gaze and looked back.

The sight of the enormous, familiar Fierce Tiger made her fur stand on end.

Before Brother Leopard could even motion to her, she had already scrambled to her feet and darted behind him, warily eyeing the giant beast standing in the bushes across the stream.Full novel: A Leopard Cub Shouldn’t Be This Pampered — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Since his cover was blown, Fierce Tiger no longer bothered to hide.

He stepped out boldly from his concealed spot and stood facing them, the stream separating them in a tense standoff.

“ROAR!” Fierce Tiger was clearly displeased that Susu had hidden behind Brother Leopard, and he let out a furious roar at him.

Brother Leopard, however, wasn’t nearly as agitated.

Instead, he calmly lifted a front paw and began to lick it with slow, deliberate strokes.

His disdainful expression practically screamed, ‘A defeated foe dares to challenge me again?

Who gave you the guts to come here and die?’ This look alone sent Fierce Tiger’s rage skyrocketing past its breaking point.

He lunged at the Black Panther without another moment’s hesitation.

Watching the two beasts locked in combat again at such close range, Susu felt a wave of danger like never before.

She cautiously backed away, only stopping when she was hidden behind a massive tree.

Huddled in the undergrowth, she stared at the unfolding battle with rapt attention, her heart pounding in her throat.

As the saying goes, the mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind it.

Brother Leopard and Fierce Tiger were locked in a life-or-death struggle, and Susu’s attention was completely captivated by the ferocious battle.

She was utterly oblivious to the danger inching ever closer from the jungle behind her.

It was a scorpion of enormous size.

Using the cover of the low-lying shrubs and vines, it had crept to within two meters of Susu’s back before launching its assault.

Sensing the danger, Susu instinctively rolled aside, dodging the stinger that shot toward her back.

Its first strike having missed, the venomous scorpion wasn’t about to give up.

It brandished its pincers and snapped them again at Susu, who was scrambling pathetically on the ground.

“AWOO!”

‘Help!

Keep fighting and your prize is going to be a goner!’

Susu silently cursed her rotten luck.

While desperately scrambling to her feet to escape, she let out a trembling warning cry.

She could only hope the two beasts, lost in the heat of their battle, would remember their prize.

‘If I die here, what’s the point of them fighting to a finish?!’

‘Are they going to pull me out from between the scorpion’s fangs or something?!’

The commotion from Susu’s direction naturally alerted the two beasts.

Without a moment’s thought, they instantly changed their target, splitting up to attack the venomous scorpion from both sides.

Ferocious as it looked, the scorpion was clearly no match for the two giant beasts once the fight began.

They quickly joined forces and tore it to shreds.

However, before the two beasts could even catch their breath, a dense rustling sound, growing ever closer from the depths of the jungle, forced them to abandon any thought of rest.

Brother Leopard, in particular, wasted no time.

He dipped his head, grabbed Susu by the scruff of her neck, and bolted across the stream into the jungle on the other side.

Susu, who had been wondering what all the fuss was about, saw what happened next and her fur instantly stood on end.

The sight almost scared her into fainting.
