Fufu immediately took half a step back, remembering what his brother had said—Father liked to be alone and shouldn't be disturbed.
Fufu took another half step back.
Yet that rich, fragrant grape sweetness continued to waft from the room, tempting Fufu.
He couldn't help but lean close to the crack in the door again, gazing at the man inside. After a moment, a thought suddenly struck him: his brother said not to disturb him, but Fufu didn't have to disturb him!
Fufu would just go in and take a look, quietly. He wouldn't talk to him, so he wouldn't be disturbing him.
With that thought, Fufu was completely at ease.
He pushed the black door open a little wider, slipped through the crack, and crept quietly along the corner of the room.
He spotted a wine bottle and a goblet on the side table beside the sofa—the grape fragrance was coming from there.
Fufu's eyes lit up.
But he didn't act rashly. Instead, he first looked at the man reclining on the sofa.
The other's eyes were half-lidded, seeming very tired, perhaps already asleep, having taken no notice of his arrival at all.
To avoid making noise, Fufu didn't run straight over. Instead, he lay flat on the floor and crawled inch by inch toward the side table.
However, just as Fufu reached the back of the side table and was about to reach for that glass of "grape juice," he suddenly felt the ground beneath him give way!
Then, the light around him flashed, and bright illumination flooded his vision.
Fufu squeezed his eyes shut from the glare, only to find that beneath him was extraordinarily soft, and the scent was familiar…
He slowly opened his eyes and indeed saw that large bed with the sky-blue bedsheet—this was where he slept!
Fufu looked around and realized he had somehow returned to his and his brother's room.
"Wow…" Fufu could hardly believe it. This was so much fun!
Had he just been dreaming?
No, it couldn't be—the window was still open, and a gentle breeze stirred the curtains.
Fufu didn't bother to study it closely. He immediately transformed back into a little bat and flew out again.
Meanwhile, in the castle's star chart room.
Rainno opened his eyes, gazing at the spot where the cub had vanished, and let out a scoff.
That little thing, quite bold, actually daring to crawl into his room.
Hadn't Hickson taught him anything?
Well, of course—because his supernatural ability was Space-type, his perception was damnably strong. Even when drunk, he couldn't help but sense every stir and rustle throughout the castle.
Of course, that kid Hickson probably didn't know that vampires were actually very hard to get drunk—at most, only slightly tipsy. He had never truly been drunk; he simply chose to immerse himself in that chaotic, frenzied state, as if he could separate himself from the entire world.
So, he had actually sensed the cub's approach long ago, but simply couldn't be bothered to deal with him.
That was something Hickson had taken in. A little thing of unknown origin—how could it possibly be his son?
If Hickson wanted to raise it, fine. He wouldn't help.
So he hadn't said a single word, only silently opened a spatial rift and teleported the cub straight back to the children's room.
If that little thing had any sense at all, it should know that the old drunkard here didn't welcome him and should go find somewhere else to play.
With that thought, Rainno let out a self-deprecating laugh and raised his goblet.
But before he could take a sip, that sensation from outside the star chart room appeared again—and it was rapidly approaching him.
Rainno paused mid-motion, his brow furrowing slightly—things weren't going quite as he'd expected.
Clearly, after being teleported back to his room, the cub hadn't hesitated for even a second before sprinting toward him again at full speed.
Fufu ran down the long corridor, heading straight for the black room he'd just been in.
That had been way too fun—he wanted to try it again!
This time, Fufu didn't even hold back his pace. He dove straight into the room, making a beeline for the coffee table in front of the sofa.
Sure enough, just as he reached one step away from the coffee table, history repeated itself—
Fufu's foot met empty air, the space around him shifted, and he tumbled onto the soft mattress once again.
It was real! He really did get teleported back to his room just by running to that spot!
So amazing.
Fufu immediately flipped over, scrambled to his feet, and set off again.
This time, after entering the star chart room, he didn't head straight for the coffee table. Instead, he changed his route, circling around from behind the sofa and approaching from an angle.
And still, he was teleported back to his room at the exact same one-step distance.
But this attempt wasn't entirely in vain—because Fufu noticed that as he rounded the side and came up to the sofa, the person lounging on it opened his crimson eyes, and it almost seemed like he smiled.
Fufu thought he was starting to understand: it wasn't that standing in that spot automatically triggered the teleport—someone was controlling it.
It was Father. He'd sensed Fufu approaching and sent him back to his room.
That's right, Fufu remembered—yesterday at noon, after Father finished talking with Brother, he'd also vanished with a sudden "whoosh" right on the spot. He definitely had teleportation powers.
He'd thought Father was asleep, but it turned out the other had noticed him all along and had been playing with him using teleportation the whole time.
So fun!
Fufu ran back and forth several times until sweat beaded on his forehead, yet he didn't feel tired in the slightest. He transformed back into a little bat, flew out of his room, and headed for Father's room once more.
This time, as he entered the room, Fufu didn't even glance at the drinks on the coffee table—he made a straight dash for Father on the sofa.
Rainno, lounging on the sofa, raised an eyebrow—this was something he hadn't anticipated.
But no matter how fast a cub ran, it was still just a cub. Just as the little one was about to reach his sofa, Rainno promptly opened a Spatial Rift and teleported the cub far away, back to the children's room.
What came next surprised him even more—the little thing, as if completely unaware of fatigue, kept slipping out of his room and running toward him, trying different angles and routes, attempting to reach the sofa and pounce onto him.
Rainno let out a low chuckle, finding a bit of amusement in it.
Since it cost him no effort at all, he didn't stop it. He simply kept tearing open the Spatial Rift and sending Fufu away each time.
He even went so far as to maliciously delay the timing of the teleport—waiting until Fufu had taken his final step and was just about to climb onto the sofa before suddenly whisking him away, rendering all the cub's efforts futile.
He wanted to see just how many times this little thing would repeat the attempt before growing discouraged and giving up entirely.
After about five or six more rounds, Fufu slipped out of the children's room once again and flew into the castle.
This time, Rainno could clearly feel that the cub's steps had slowed considerably—no longer brimming with the same energy as before.
So small, he slowly made his way down the corridor. Then, just a few steps from the entrance to the star chart room, Fufu stopped.
Rainno glanced sideways at the dark crack of the door. From this angle, he couldn't see the little cub, but he could sense that the other was standing right at the doorway, silently watching him.
Was he finally going to give up?
Rainno lowered his eyes. Good. It should have been this way long ago.
Go play somewhere else. This was never a place for a cub to be.
However, this silent state lasted only a few dozen seconds. Soon, Fufu slipped back into the room again, running straight toward Rainno along the shortest possible path!
Rainno watched the other's wobbling little shadow and unconsciously curled the corners of his mouth, but he still released his Supernatural Ability, preparing to tear space apart once more and send the cub away when he reached him.
But this time, when Fufu ran up to him, he didn't take that final step. Instead, he transformed into a little bat on the spot, soared into the air, accurately dodging his spatial teleportation. Flapping his wings with all his might, he dove straight into Rainno's arms!
