◎ Won’t Kill You Even If I Drop You ◎
The fluorescent light overhead hissed and flickered. The window was coated in a thick layer of condensation, and the ghost shadows huddled together in fear, shivering and weeping as if they were humans witnessing a haunting.
The beautiful young man stood in the center, his red lips and white teeth stark against his pale, slender neck. His fragile appearance stood in contrast to the scene, as he looked as calm and unbothered as a powerhouse who had single handedly taken down a nest of ghosts.
These ghost shadows had all been killed by the landlady and trapped within the inn, giving them an instinctual fear of her. As a result, they were terrified and refused to leave.
“Your best hope is to rely on me and join me in breaking the rules that govern this inn. That is the only way to lift the curse of imprisonment placed upon you all. Yet, you are content with a temporary, stable life; how naive and cowardly you are.”
“I know of a way to escape, yet I am still willing to risk my life to stay behind, even offending the landlady. All of this is for your freedom!”
He Yupu lowered his beautiful eyes, looking somewhat helpless. “You really have disappointed me.”
[System appraisal initiated: Skill points 5, Random dice roll 3 (3 < 5).]
[Player successfully used the skill: Beginner Charm.]
The ghosts clutched their heads, their eyes glazed and lost as they cautiously watched his expression.
He Yupu lifted his gaze, his voice carrying an irresistible allure. “Be good. Come with me and become true warriors.”
Visible blood vessels pulsed in the ghosts’ protruding eyeballs. Gritting their teeth, they rose in a fury, blood tears streaming down their pale cheeks. Ashamed and moved, they cried, “Xiao Pu has done so much for us! We cannot let you down!”
Only then did He Yupu curl his lips into a smile. “Then quickly shield my form, and let us depart.”
[Damn, what do I do? I am convinced too. My wife, I am willing to go through fire and water for you!]
[Please start a class on this gaslighting ability; I will kneel and listen!]
[The streamer is wicked enough. He does not even mention the danger the ghosts will face, just lets them work for free while they remain grateful.]
He Yupu flicked his wrist, and a bolt of lightning shattered the fluorescent lamp. Half of his body plunged into darkness as hundreds of ghost shadows took the opportunity to crowd around him, concealing his form.
He Yupu had completely vanished into the dark.
He stood before the filthy door, which was marked with two sticky, bloody handprints that looked as if they had been placed there only moments ago.
