◎ This Captain Identity Card Is Seriously Rich! ◎
This was a massive, moving cruise ship, floating on the deep blue ocean and sailing toward the light.
He Yupu wore a black T-shirt and dress trousers, topped with a knitted cardigan featuring sparkling fabric. The materials were exceptionally expensive wool and silk, making him look extremely elegant and professional. The watch on his wrist was embedded with pure diamonds that produced colorful mirages under the refraction of the sunlight. Its deep blue strap complemented the ocean perfectly, appearing incredibly luxurious.
He checked the time: 5:40 PM. The sun was about to set.
As the minute hand ticked forward, the emotionless, mechanical voice of the system slowly resonated:
[Welcome to the Visiana Cruise!] [This is a ship that accommodates countless forms of madness, carrying the desires of countless tourists. It is a place where human nature is most fully exposed, drifting across an endless sea.] [We accept all lost travelers. You will find the ultimate meaning of life here. Guiding the guests is the honor and mission of this cruise ship.]
He Yupu bathed in the sunlight, comfortably breathing in the sea breeze. His voice carried a lazy tone as he asked slowly, “So, what is my identity?”
[Your NPC identity is: Captain.] [Character Background: This top tier cruise ship is the legal inheritance you have received. Your parents entrusted you with the duty of guarding this ship before they passed away, making its protection your inescapable lifelong mission.] [Unfortunately, your ship has a leak. There are 72 hours until the ship capsizes.] [Player He Yupu has triggered the main quest: Collect points to prevent the ship from sinking into the sea.] [Mission progress: 50/100,000,000]
Only then did He Yupu pull himself away from the novelty of the sun. He looked down at the meager 50 points and realized once again how poor he was. His already fragile heart felt like it had been stabbed several times over.
He shifted his focus, recalling the system’s prompts: desire, madness, and a place where human nature is most fully exposed.
The only places fitting these three labels were the decadent casinos.
He Yupu’s gaze darted around the room. The moment it landed on a cabinet that had been rummaged through, something resembling a bullet screen flashed out: a key icon floating in mid air.
[Visiana Key: A key that controls the entire ship. For this vessel, it is equivalent to a heart.] [Ownership belongs to the Captain, but if the Captain consents, ownership can be transferred.]
He Yupu had barely scanned it before the door was pushed open without hesitation. A panicked and flustered maid rushed in, bowing respectfully to him.
“Did I not instruct you all to remain elegant and calm at all times?” He Yupu rebuked coldly, then asked, “What has happened now?”
The maid’s hair was a bit disheveled, and her rapid breathing was erratic and heavy, but she tried her best to stay calm. “Master, the guests in the lobby are causing trouble again.”
[Please, player He Yupu, maintain fairness on the ship.]
He Yupu glanced at the system page and noticed a few lines of small text beneath the dungeon description.
[Gambling Space Station: This is a special player rest area that opens once every ten years. Players can gamble and indulge freely in the rest area.]
So this really was a casino, and a player rest area at that?
The original host’s memories invaded He Yupu’s brain through a slow infiltration. Once the fusion was complete, He Yupu acted according to his persona. His lips curled into an ambiguous, dangerous smile. “Is that so? We have impolite guests again today.”
He stepped off the bed leisurely, walked over to the mirror, and simply tidied his attire. He tossed his watch onto the Persian rug and took an even more expensive one from the cabinet to put on.
“Tell the curator to come to work now. After I handle the lobby, I want to see this entire room layout spotless.” He Yupu blinked without a second’s hesitation, his voice indifferent. “Now, lead the way; we are going to find those unruly guests.”
The maid bowed again, suppressing her trembling voice as she replied, “Understood, Master.”
The two left the room one after another, passing through elegantly decorated corridors and walking down a staircase made of pure gold, finally catching a glimpse of the neon drenched gambling lobby.
The ceiling was a space themed dome embedded with fragments of diamonds, carved with immortal romance. A giant sheepskin chandelier was covered in extravagant, golden foil, and the candlelight made the casino look both insane and cozy.
He Yupu walked down slowly, watching everyone with an expressionless face.
The clamor of the casino had long since ceased. Everyone stared blankly at the magnificent young man on the stairs, completely stunned by his beauty. He Yupu scanned everyone, letting no micro expression escape him.
After observing them all, he confirmed that players entering this dungeon truly had no memory of his appearance due to the system’s intervention.
Good. That saves a lot of trouble.
He continued watching and discovered that the troublemakers were a group of black robed men with vicious features, each bearing an identical scar in the exact same position; these were the very people who had tried to rob him in the lobby.
Beside them lay a newcomer player, his face covered in viscous blood, nursing several knife and gunshot wounds. He lay weakly on the ground, his expression twisted and ugly with despair.
He Yupu leaned against the staircase railing, looking at the dealer below, and asked a rhetorical question, “What is happening here?”
“Reporting to Master, these three black robed guests had a gambling match with the guest lying on the ground.” The dealer bowed respectfully. “But after the black robed guests were caught cheating, they refused to follow casino rules and forced the guest on the ground to admit he was the one cheating.”
He Yupu understood immediately. The black robed men disdained the rules of the cruise ship; they were challenging the Captain’s authority. The original host was a Captain who never cheated and clung stubbornly to the rules. Once these players figured out the pattern, they had bullied him into the dirt.
