Tie Dan: [Yubao, don’t be scared! I… ] I’ll protect you.

The voice on the phone was so loud that the moment Shuyu heard another human speaking, she nearly jumped out of her skin.

Her heart gave a violent jolt. It felt as though she had just suffered a direct attack from humanity.Full novel: A Socially Awkward Girl Transmigrates into the Body of the Male Lead’s Ex-Girlfriend Who Sells Fish — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Panicking, Shuyu hurriedly hung up and blocked the number.

After blocking the original host’s mother, she quickly found her father’s number and blocked him too.

Then she blocked her younger brother.

At last…

The world fell silent.

Shuyu let out a long breath.

She could finally breathe again.

Smiling sweetly at Tie Dan, she asked, “Tie Dan, what were you about to say?”

Tie Dan was stunned.

It suddenly felt like Shuyu didn’t need its protection at all.

It had assumed its fragile little host would be threatened by her vampire parents and obediently hand over the 100,000 yuan she’d just earned.

Instead…

She’d simply blocked the entire family before they even had a chance to speak.

Tie Dan sighed.

[Nothing. I was just thinking… you’re actually pretty good at solving problems.]

Shuyu lay down, pulled up her blanket, and peacefully closed her eyes.

“I’m not good at solving problems.”

“Every difficulty can defeat me.”

“I want to run away from everything.”

“As long as I hide, my problems can’t find me.”

“As long as I don’t appear in front of humans, life can’t elbow me in the face.”

Tie Dan was silent for a long while.

[…That actually makes sense.]

Shuyu murmured peacefully,

“Tie Dan, I’m exhausted. I’m going to sleep.”

Before falling asleep, she vaguely felt she’d forgotten something.

She opened her eyes and looked around.

The tiny room contained only herself.

There wasn’t even much light.

Reassured, she closed her eyes again.

Shuyu had no idea how long she’d been asleep when noises came from outside the door, followed by voices.

She shot upright in bed.

Her scalp practically exploded.

She suddenly remembered what she’d forgotten.

She was a college student.

She lived in a dormitory.

She had three roommates.

Shuyu: I’m screwed!

Putting someone with social anxiety into a four-person dormitory is basically asking for my life.

Searching through the original host’s memories, she recalled that the original Shuyu hadn’t been popular in the dorm at all.

She’d constantly been excluded.

Mostly because they had incompatible lifestyles.

The original owner had money but refused to spend it on herself.

She was stingy, socially awkward, insecure, overly sensitive, neither particularly pretty nor especially talented.

After interacting with her a few times, all of her roommates had come to dislike her.

Most of the time, she was practically invisible in the dorm.

The few times anyone acknowledged her existence…

…it was usually just to humiliate her.

Shuyu felt this was truly a nightmare start.

Listening to the voices outside, she felt like she was about to fall apart.

Just then, one of her roommates, Gu Yunjing, slapped the side of Shuyu’s bed.

“Shuyu! I already told you not to put your stuff in the wardrobe! Are you incapable of understanding human language?”

Curled up in her tiny bed space, Shuyu still hadn’t fully sorted through her thoughts.

She answered in a tiny voice.

Gu Yunjing rolled her eyes.

“So annoying. Country bumpkin.”

The other two roommates tried to calm her down.

“Enough. Stop saying so much. We’re all living together. Just compromise a little.”

Gu Yunjing scoffed.

“Why should I compromise for her? If she doesn’t like it, she can move out herself. Stop pretending to be some innocent little white lotus. This dorm is already as tiny as a cockroach nest, and she still insists on taking up extra space. Isn’t she annoying?”

Hiding behind her bed curtain, Shuyu quietly replied,

“The one making trouble should move out. If anyone’s leaving, it should be you.”

Gu Yunjing’s eyes widened.

Shuyu actually dared talk back?

Before this, no matter how much she was scolded, she’d never said a word.

Furious, Gu Yunjing reached over and yanked at Shuyu’s bed curtain.

Shuyu frantically grabbed the curtain with both hands, refusing to let her open it.

She was someone who cried very easily.

The moment Gu Yunjing spoke the first harsh sentence, she’d already wanted to cry.

Now that Gu Yunjing was trying to rip open her curtain…

The tears burst out uncontrollably.

In her panic, Shuyu accidentally tapped Si Yiheng’s voice call.

The call connected.

Hearing the commotion through his phone, Si Yiheng asked,

“What’s wrong?”

But Shuyu never answered him.

Instead…

He heard her sobbing.

Gu Yunjing, unaccustomed to Shuyu standing up for herself, shouted,

“Shuyu! What did you just say?”

Tears brimmed in Shuyu’s eyes.

Her voice trembled.

“I said… you’re the one who’s unhappy with me. You’re the one complaining the dorm is too small. If someone should move out, it should be you. Whoever wants to act like a spoiled princess can move out!”

Even without this fight…

Shuyu didn’t want to share a dorm room with so many people.

But if someone bullied her right to her face…

Then letting herself be bullied would make her a useless loser.

She refused to be one.

Gu Yunjing grew even angrier.

City A was the nation’s capital.

Their university was famously located in “the center of the universe.”

Renting an apartment nearby wasn’t something an ordinary student could afford.

There was no way she could actually move out.

But Shuyu’s words had backed her into a corner.

Immediately, she tried turning the blame around.

“You were the one leaving your stuff everywhere!”

“I wasn’t! That cabinet belongs to me! I only let you use it because I was being nice. I’m not letting you use it anymore. Move your things!”

By now, Shuyu had sorted through the original owner’s memories.

The cabinet had indeed belonged to her from the beginning.

Being contradicted again made Gu Yunjing lose face.

Acting on impulse, she grabbed Shuyu’s arm and raised her hand to hit her.

Tie Dan shouted,

[Yubao! Kick her! She’s going to hit you!]

Warned by Tie Dan, Shuyu immediately kicked.

And she kicked hard.

Gu Yunjing was sent sprawling onto the floor, landing painfully on her backside.

She stared in disbelief.

Had Shuyu gone crazy?

She actually fought back?

“You just wait, Shuyu! I’ll make you pay for this!”

Still crying, Shuyu sniffled softly,

“O-Okay… then… I’ll wait.”

Gu Yunjing: “…”

Calling for the other two roommates to accompany her to the campus clinic, Gu Yunjing stormed out.

Soon the dorm room was quiet again.

Only Shuyu remained.

She collapsed onto her bed.

Completely breaking down, she wailed,

“I want to go home.”

“I really don’t want to live anymore.”

“Can I just die now?”

She wanted nothing more than to hide somewhere alone.

Somewhere no one could find her.

Somewhere she never had to talk to other humans.

Waaah…

Being transmigrated into a novel is so unfriendly.

Can I not transmigrate anymore?

On the other end of the call, Si Yiheng had silently listened to the entire confrontation.

He heard Shuyu crying while trying to reason with her roommate.

And…

Apparently she’d ended up fighting back.

Even after winning the fight…

She still cried herself into a mess.

For some reason, Si Yiheng suddenly thought his girlfriend resembled a timid little kitten.

She was clearly terrified of people…

Yet she still stretched out her tiny claws, bluffing bravely when cornered.

Tie Dan wanted to comfort Shuyu.

But it felt something even more important had to be said first.

[Yubao… um… I think you accidentally called Si Yiheng just now.]

[Baby… your boyfriend has been secretly listening to your fight this whole time.]
